[edit]Hello, I'm EricEnfermero. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Joe Panik, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Stats updates for athletes
[edit]Hi Daniela -
I noticed that when you updated the batting average for Joe Panik today, you left the "statyear" field reflecting May 7, 2015. When we change baseball player stats, we make sure to update all of the stats in the infobox and also change the "statyear" field to the last game the player played (in this case, he played yesterday, May 8, which is what the ESPN batting average is based on at the moment). Just a heads up. EricEnfermero (Talk) 14:22, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
- The same issue came up again today. Today's update should have changed the "statyear" field in the infobox to May 9, 2015 (the last game that he played). Otherwise, we're saying he was hitting .299 with 28 RBI as of May 8, which wasn't true. It was only true as of May 9. I apologize - when you left the message on my talk page, I wasn't editing from my desktop and couldn't remember which article your message referred to. Let me know if this is still kind of unclear. - Same issue last night. Before you save your new edits, make sure of four things:
- That you update the new batting average (from a website like MLB.com or ESPN; the BA changes almost every day)
- That you update the new home run total (from a website like MLB.com or ESPN)
- That you update the new RBI total (from a website like MLB.com or ESPN; if he hit a home run, the RBI total went up by at least one)
- That you change the "statyear" field to the date of the last game played (from the game log on a website like MLB.com or ESPN)
- I'm trying to make this as easy as possible to understand. Can you let me know if something isn't clear? Just type a message here below this one. Thanks. EricEnfermero (Talk) 06:59, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
