Genertal criteria for RfA candidates
There are no official minimum criteria for RfA candidates, but based on our recent research, to stand even an even chance of succeeding candidates will generally need:
- To have been a registered user for at least 6 months
- To have opted in for X-tools edit counter.
- Have a clean and fully functioning user signature.
- A minimum of around 6,000 manual edits (average is around 11,000) excluding minor edits.
- Good use (99%) of edit summaries, with appropriate summaries
- To have significantly and intelligently voted on numerous RfA (at least 10 or so)
- To have either created a minimum of around 6 full length non stub articles (excluding redirects), and a GA or a DYK would look good.
- No current tags on any articles
- No naked URLs on articles
- Impeccable references on articles
- No copyvio or plagiarism on articles
- Categories on articles
- Stub tags on any stubs you may have created
- Added a project template to the article's talk page, if appropriate
- Have a cleanly and intelligently laid out user page (no over-eager mentions of wanting awards or to be an admin)
- Have a cleanly and intelligently laid out user talk page (no userboxes, older barnstars, or other non talk page essentials)
- Very few deleted messages on the user talk page
- Very few user warnings, AfD, and PROD notices on the user talk page
- Very few image copyright warnings on the user talk page.
- Extremely civil dialogue on all talk pages
- Have been active at NPP (several 100 patrolls) with a very low number of mis-tagged articles (no more than 2%).
- Have been an active member of an active Wikipedia project.
- Demonstrated significant activity on help desks and noticeboars such as AIV.
