"passed away" vs. "died"

Well, there's nothing in the MoS about this but I don't see the harm ... it's more direct and less euphemistic, thus more appropriate for an encyclopedia. Daniel Case (talk) 01:47, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Seth Hilton

The procedure for sockpuppetry investigations has changed since the last time this character has been investigated. Although there are no inappropriate edits in article space except for the one you reverted, we have a blatant misuse of userspace, and a blatant misuse of multiple accounts. I have initiated a new case at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Seth Hilton. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 05:09, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for File:Paper+Plastick Logo.jpg}

Thank you for uploading File:Paper+Plastick Logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Toycrap I fail to see how removing a book that RD did not or has no plans on writing from the books list constitutes as vandalisim. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.27.225.234 (talk) 01:18, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

IP User Vandalism Warnings

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that for edits like these you could jump straight to a level 3 warning and don't even need to post a level 1 or 2. Also, it's best not to post 4 warnings all at once. One warning would have sufficed. Thanks and happy editing! Icestorm815Talk 04:32, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Warped Tour 2009 Logo.gif)

⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:Warped Tour 2009 Logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 05:15, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Famly Clothing, not Family Clothing

A recent edit was made to Warped Tour 2009 changing a stage from "Famly Clothing" to "Family Clothing" but in this case the former is actually correct as seen at http://www.famlyweb.com. Not sure much could be done since this is probably the only case where "Famly" would be correct over "Family" but figured I would leave the note anyway. DX927 (talk) 22:58, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for catching that. I've added an exception for that article to my bot's exception list, so it shouldn't happen again. Cheers, 23:01, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

RE: IP edits

I will keep an eye on it, not really sure if i can get it blocked just for changing things. It's not really direct vandalism. I will leave a couple of warnings on the talk page and eventually we can get it blocked for ignoring the warnings. kiac. (talk-contrib) 07:13, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Wrestlecrap fool

Thanks for the info. Apparently both those accounts(same guy? Someone also vandalized the RD Reynolds page) have been banned. As I said on my talk page I only edit Wrestlecrap rarely, and only did so to add the Hornswoggle/Chavo Gooker information, then came back and saw that edit. Having checked your history, I see this guy has been doing this shit for years. Anyway, if I notice any more vandalism from this clown I'll point it out. Dr Rgne (talk) 06:52, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

Apparently, the guy is back! He just vandalized the Pebbles cereal article! Dr Rgne (talk) 11:07, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Hi, he's back again! This time using an IP address, so hopefully he can be stopped now. Dr Rgne (talk) 10:07, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for catching all of that nonsense with Warped Tour 2010. The article was JUST unlocked and this is starting up already again. Yet they don't think it warrants being locked again. If you could keep an eye on it as well that would be a big help. DX927 (talk) 18:33, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

No problem at all, and i will gladly keep an eye out for more vandalism. I does seem that this are two separate incident though, as the IP you warred with (the 72 one) is on the Road Runner HoldCo LLC, while the new IP's origionate from Comcast. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 18:44, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
Can you see how it's all the same thing now from several different IP's now? DX927 (talk) 16:36, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
Yes, lovely. Either this person is adding nonsense all the time, promoting his own band, or using alternate IP's to evade his ban just for vandalism sake - by now i have a hard time to even consider this a fan unaware of WP:CITE. The amount of vandalism is probably to little for protection, and seeing the IP's a rangle block is likely unfeasible as well. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 16:42, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Apologies

Thanks for catching my edit to Warped Tour. I don't know how I missed those links. --TorriTorri(talk/contribs) 01:47, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Our Mutual Friend

It looks like your old buddy ECW500 has been back again. I also looked through the edits of some of his past socks, and saw that he has been deleting the dozens of tags. I seem to have reinserted over 30 today! He also did a double-vandalism on the Wrestlecrap and RD Reynolds pages over the weekend! It appears that there are about a dozen other people keeping a lookout for him however, and this bs gets caught quickly. Just thought you'd be interested though.
