FAB!

[edit]

Hi, Regarding the use of this term; I removed it from the FAB disambig page, as it was already in the list.

It's also better to link directly to an article, rather than relying on disambiguation pages or redirects. So (e.g.) rather than FAB which appears as FAB, you can say FAB (as alcopop is the thing we're referring to, albeit under the name of our choice). This too appears as FAB, but you'll notice the link is different.

All the best,

Fourohfour 14:56, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As I mentioned, you can call it anything you like and still link it to the relevant article;
Posh Upmarket Lemonade Stuff
gives
Posh Upmarket Lemonade Stuff.
If you think the main title for alcopop should be different, that's another kettle of fish. Personally, I'd oppose that; although "alcopop" is a slightly loaded term, it's by far the most common and "Flavoured Alcoholic Beverage" smacks of industry-only jargon (I've *never* heard it used outside Wikipedia), or of changing the perception of a product by referring to it differently. If and when the latter becomes more common, the article name should be changed, but until then I think "alcopop" is the best term.
But as I said, you can link to it using any phrase you feel appropriate. Fourohfour 16:43, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Two things.

[edit]

Firstly, when you create an article for a location, you should say where the location is. The Manchester Fort article, for instance, should say in the very first sentence that it is located in Manchester, England.

Second, and less important, I don't suppose you could create a user page for yourself, could you? Because as long as it goes uncreated, every time I see your name on the New Articles page with a redlink, it triggers my "possible new user; check contributions extra-carefully to make sure it's not a vandal making worthless crap" reflex. DS 14:55, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

East Timor / Timor-Leste

[edit]

Hello,

I moved it back for two reasons: there were a lot of unfixed double-redirects, and also you added extraneous spaces around the hyphen: "Timor - Leste".

Otherwise, this might be a legitimate move, as per Côte d'Ivoire, but maybe it should be proposed at Wikipedia:Requested moves first to allow others to express their opinions and discuss and vote. -- Curps 16:48, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Selfish request

[edit]

I don't suppose you could take a few minutes and create a userpage for yourself? It would make New Page patrol somewhat easier, since your name is currently redlinked, which triggers my "possible new user, possible vandal - better check his edits extra carefully" reflex. DS 14:41, 22 March 2006 (UTC) Yeah have started it, will ahve to come back to it laterDJ HEAVEN 10:25, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Page moves

[edit]

If you're still active, I noticed that you moved material from The Hits Album to Hits (compilation series). This created a dupe article, and did not acknowledge the history of the material (your name is first on the list for the latter article, but you didn't write the material).

Can you please use the "move" tab at the top of the page if you wish to move a page (which you seem to have intend here). If you wish to copy material, but not whole articles, then please acknowledge the source. Thanks!

Notability of The Apples (group)

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on The Apples (group), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because The Apples (group) seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting The Apples (group), please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Proposed deletion of Sally Ann Marsh

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Sally Ann Marsh, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Per WP:BIO / WP:MUSIC - none of the bands she has been a member of have their own article which speaks in some way towards their notability. No notable achievements in her acting career.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). A tag has been placed on The Hybirds requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is 100% (compilation series). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/100% (compilation series). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:17, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello DJ HEAVEN! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 74 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the list:
