Sarah Louise Young deletion review
[edit]Hi Darth Sidious 2,
I'm new as a Wikipedia participant, so please forgive any errors.
A couple of days ago I did a search for a pornographic movie performer called Sarah Louise Young. I'm not a particular fan, but Ms Young's performances played a significant part in my youth and I wondered if she was in Wikipedia. I had a vague memory that I'd checked a few years ago and found she was, but I wasn't certain.
Anyway, what I found was a page indicating that she used to be in Wikipedia but the entry had been deleted. When I read closely and followed various links I found the reason was that she failed the 'notability criteria'. I was surprised because, my own memories aside, I knew she'd been a big deal in European pornography for several years. I checked the criteria and found that a pornographic actor or model is notable only if he or she:
1. Has won a well-known award such as an AVN Award. (See Category:Pornographic film awards or Category:Film awards for other awards which may apply.)
I was pretty sure she had won several awards. I did a Google search of her name with the word 'award' and one of the early hits was the French Wikipedia entry for her name, which included the following awards:
- 1993 : Best Actress – Festival International de Cine Erotico de Barcelona (FICEB), 1993, 1994, 1995.
- 1994 : Best European Actress – Premio de Turia (Spanish Cultural Prize) sponsored by Turia and Generalitat de Valencia, 1994.
- 1995 : Premio Alla Carriera – Il Festival Internazionale Dell 'Hard (Impulse D'Oro Awards), Bologna, 1995.
- 1996 : Best Actress (German) – for the film Hamlet – The Brussels International Festival of Eroticism, 1996.
- 1997 : Best European Actress – Venus Awards, Berlin, 1997.
These are from
At least a few of these are listed among the recognised awards as per the criteria, so could you please review the deletion?

Sarah Louise Young further
[edit]Hi again,
Thanks for your reply. I understand now that the deletion has already happened; there is not a vote going on.
Although I don't think this was the URL I found, the page I originally found can be seen at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sarah_Louise_Young&action=edit&redlink=1
On that page I clicked the blue link: (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sarah Louise Young)
That led me to a page on which your name was fairly prominent so I contacted you. Having another look at that page, perhaps Cirt is the Admin I should contact? I'm still finding it a bit difficult to figure out who is who or what :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fergus Velour (talk • contribs) 14:41, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

[edit]I hope this wasn't an attempted cut and paste move? Cut-and-paste moves destroy the edit history which is why we don't do them, but use the move functionality. If a proper move cannot be effected because a redirect already exists at the target page, the move should be requested at WP:RM. Hope this helps. – ukexpat (talk) 17:08, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

IP Range 59.94.2xx.xxx is public
[edit]Hi Darth
I recently received a message from you concerning somebody's editing of an article, which was due to my IP, which is public in nature, and is periodically rotated between users of my ISP. While I appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, I just thought I'd give you a heads up that the IP Range 59.94.2xx.xxx is almost public in nature, hence the user of a particular IP Address at a particular instant is most likely not the perpetrator of any action that has been linked to the IP. Dunno why I felt like telling you this.

- Great! Remember, the ACC Tool Server has a zero-tolerance policy. In other words, one mistake is all it takes to get your tool server right removed. This means that in case you are handling a user name request and are unsure of how to proceed, first, ask other ACC Tool Server members on the IRC. If that doesn't work, or if there's no significant help, then simply "break the reservation". The ACC Tool Server does not work on the WP:Bold philosophy. I hope I've not frightened you up :) But this is to ensure that your experience at the tool server is enjoyable. Like I said, leave a message on my talk page if there's anything I can do to assist you in the future. Best. Wifione ....... Leave a message 09:25, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

BongWarrior
[edit]BongWarrior is operating as a Wiki Nazi. No matter how small an edit, he throws up wiki vandalism to his Space Rock wiki page. I added a link to a "not for forum" forum in External links and he removed it siting ip vandalism. I would report him, but it was easy to mod is page to show what a noob he is. Ban me, by all means, but I will just reset my router and get another IP. I have all so noted of late a gang of users like yourself coming to defend the wiki as if its your own. A little like the Bongwarrior. Also you keep on throwing rule number 1218936.12971.13917 paragraph 137731.1381739.18836 when any one trys to edit the wiki these days. Conflict in Article of Andre Geim, winner of 2010 Nobel Prize
[edit]Hi, I am a foreigner and a simple reader of Wikipedia. Thank you very much for your job. Frankly say, Editing article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andre_Geim, is in a wrong way, by colluding of some editors and admins there. Their IDs are: Therexbanner, Gladsmile, Narking, Christopher Connor, RobertMfromLI, NickCT, Beetstra, 7. These Users are trying by reverting correct edits of the article, and doing a sort of anagram and "misusing" information in sources, show Mr. Andre Geim (winner of 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics) is not a Jewish and he has another ethnic. They seem like pure (but a bit hidden)vandalism. All correct RS sources, like:
- http://www.russia-ic.com/education_science/science/breakthrough/1176/,
- http://www.forward.com/articles/131944/
- http://www.gazeta.ru/science/2010/10/07_a_3426604.shtml
- http://www.kfki.hu/chemonet/osztaly/kemia/ih.pdf
- http://onnes.ph.man.ac.uk/~geim/pt.html
- http://www.forward.com/articles/131944/
- http://www.russia-ic.com/education_science/science/breakthrough/1176/
- …
clearly show that Mr. Andre Geim is a Jewish (he repeatedly mentioned about his Jewishness, [subject of self-identification]) in ethnical point of view and his family was originated from Germany(he also several times mentioned that his family are German [origin]). Nowadays German is a general word, which could means: Citizenship, Nationality, Origin, residentship, and so on. When Geim is taking about German being of his family, clearly and logically he talks about their origin before emigration to Russia. There is the same situation about Richard Feynman: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Feynman. By the way in a reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Andre_Geim_interview_to_Yedioth_Ahronoth,_Oct_15_2010,_p._25.jpg, (that several times misused by above Users) Geim also said a story concerning Jewishness (clearly in religious point of view) of his grandmother, that of course it doesn’t mean that only his grandmother was a Jewish. Now in article as I checked the history of the article, above Users by reverting the correct edits there, try to present and show by their wrong way Mr. Geim an “ethnic” German person. The point is that in any RS sources, Geim hasn’t say that he has such ethnic, and he never used word “ethnic” there. Andre Geim won the Nobel Prize in the beginning of October; unfortunately, right after his winning until now, above Users kept the text of the article in a wrong position. In any case, if you have time, please check this Users carefully. By the way USER:Gladsmile, repeatedly reverted and undid the edits there, without any explanation(even wrong one). Personaly, seems like an extrimist Vandalism. BestAlexander468 (talk) 16:55, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Hey Darth,
Just wanted to drop a note reminding you to be careful what version you revert to. When you were de-vandalizing on Christian (much appreciated, of course), the version you reverted to was this one (Not technically vandalism, but unsourced POV-pushing), which then got automatically accepted after you made the edit never mind, looks like X accepted it. Anyway, no biggie, but thought you should know what happened. Thanks,

Using the proper speedy deletion reason
[edit]You recently marked Meir weisblum for deletion as "vandalism". The more proper tag would have been {{db-attack}}, as this was purely a personal attack against the subject. The advantage of using the attack template is twofold:
- it blanks the page so that the malicious content is no longer visible;
- it puts the page into a special category that is more stringently monitored and therefore more quickly deleted.
Just a helpful hint. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:54, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll keep in mind. DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 14:56, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Administrator intervention against vandalism
[edit]Hello, DARTH SIDIOUS 2. I don't remember ever having direct contact with you before, but I am certainly well acquainted with your user name, as I have very frequently come across your excellent anti-vandal work when I have been patrolling AIV. However, I saw your post at User talk:173.49.140.141#Reply, which suggested that you are being more cautious about reporting to AIV than you need to be. It is not always essential for a vandal to have been warned four times before a report, and in fact in the case of serious vandalism I would regard it as undesirable to hold back that long. You may like to read the comment I wrote in response to your post that I mentioned. (In fact what I wrote contains more than just a reply to your comment.) Hypersoar article - emphasis on Hype
[edit]--Dfoofnik (talk) 00:38, 3 November 2010 (UTC) Did anyone look to see how old this was? The concept was done in *1998* and Lawrence Livermore let it drop like a lead balloon years ago, even before the X-43 flew. People have been repeating this "super plane" since 2000 -- in 2002, 2004, 2007, and even this year, there have been postings of the SAME article from 1998! Preston Carter would be 54 now, and may not be working or even alive. This was definitely his 15 minutes of fame, but now the Internet will not let this go. Nobody looks at dates anymore, but when you say "it will be out by 2010" and that the Boeing 777 is "new" (ack! 1995!)...that should raise a flag. Anyway, my status section is just a suggestion. -DF

Well, Category:Neighbourhoods in Uruguay, has really no place in the categorization tree. I must have been confused for a moment there. Can you please delete it? Thank you. Regarding ETA
[edit]I started the Wiki for ETA, I posted FACTUAL information that you continously have deleted. I am new to wiki and I apologize if my formatting isnt appropriate, that being said. You have sent me multiple messages claiming that my posts are a conflict of interest, and have repeatedly removed the FACTS I have posted. Why have you done this? If you are going to behave in this manner please delete the entire post, I would rather not have it up rather than have half truths dictacted by someone who wont allow a post without a signature from a member of the press. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Etafixer (talk • contribs) 11:59, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

Mockumentaries.
[edit]Cannibal Holocaust: Most of the film is pretty much told as a straight film, with a guy going to South America to find the footage. This is not done in a documentary style (although there are little touches such as voice overs, etc). We do see the "found footage", true, but that does not make the entire film a mockumentary. District 9: Yes, the first half is 100% mockumentary. However, once our "hero" is infected and on the run it gives up on that premise. A number of other films/TV shows have been taken out of this list because they mimic documentaries (say Arrested Development) but do not pretend that these people are being filmed the whole time. 124.183.134.230 (talk) 05:20, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
- Of course, I belive you. I don't really know much about these things. But what does this have to do with me, actually? DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 10:48, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Alkali article repeats text
[edit]The English Alkali article repeats the same text in the "common properties" part. I have tried to edit it twice, but is has been reset again. Also the etymology makes no sense.145.94.255.141 (talk) 14:58, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
Indipper
[edit]My edit was entirely correct. The indipper is a meaningless term invented by a single troll. Google it and read the exact same text every other time it is mentioned. The previous "explanation" was nonsensical and should have been flagged as vandalism at the time. Please revert back to my change, or even better - delete the entire page. 213.70.98.66 (talk) 15:40, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

- Yeah, I've noticed that too. But I'll rather keep the reviewer topicon, as I'm reviewer as well and it doesn't really matter which of the topicons show up on the user page. DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 16:28, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Deletion made at 9.18 am EST USA
[edit]Sorry if I transgressed. I am new at this. I tried to delete the sub-page of my User page that triggered the vandalism message, for the purpose of tidying up. It is completely redundant. All that its preservation provides is an audit trail of inadequately informed learning experiments. Its presence is completely innocuous. My only concern is that it constitutes waste of storage space.
I want to remove the other sub-page of my User page for an extension of reasons that I explained to another administrator concerning a further sub-page that he has removed. I have typed a cautious explanation of why I wish the other sub-page that is extant could be completely expunged but think it unwise to include the explanation here. I do not want to be a nuisance to WP administrators. The experience has been salutary. It has cost me an appalling amount of time which I can ill afford. Sorry to bother you with this. But I am not a vandal, in the usual sense of the word, or intentionally so in the WP sense. Michael P. Barnett (talk) 15:31, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Deletion made and reversed
[edit]I just deleted the real entry for Surgeon of Crowthorne, and reversed it within a minute when I realized what had happened. My /draft redirected to this entry. So it is back where it was. I am curious how to delete the sub-page of my User page that redirects, but not a big deal. I could not restore the Discussion, because of intermediate edits, but it was thin -- the deletion of a lengthy quote that no-one disputed, and the rest minor non-contentious additions I made. Michael P. Barnett (talk) 18:19, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
This IP, which you have made several revisions to, I see
[edit]This IP Address is a default for the Firefox manual proxy networking option. i use it (not having one of my own.) for getting past one of my school's several security systems. i believe you should block this IP, if this is so possible, because it is easily available to anyone with a rudimentary understanding of computers. you will get mostly vandalism from it, i am sure. anyone that has an honest contribution will create an account, i am sure (as i have done, though not messaging you from it for several reasons. one being so you can identify the IP, the other being not having a link to your name from anywhere else)
- please excuse my slight inconsistency with my typing, such as not capitalizing.
- Thank you for your understanding

- Yes, noticed that. He propably has a dynamic IP or is purposely changing his IP. That isn't a very big problem anyway, as their vandalism is easily reverted and an admin can put a range block on them if needed. DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 20:33, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
