Re:The Monster of Phineas-n-Ferbenstein
Ah-ha, yeah, I understand - I hate when that happens. Thanks for helping with it's cleanup, BTW, I'm hoping to eventually get a GAN up for it after the DYK. The Flash {talk} 02:56, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks! The thing about the ordering system is no place (no, not even the Disney website) really covers the order of episodes - well, they, do, but the thing is they don't mention the whole "story" and "segment" thing. I've found it very difficult to be able to number these things, as they're just one part of an episode, but the way you have it now is what I'll have to be doing in the future. A question though; why did you put it was the 22nd episode? Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together is actually the 22nd episode when counting things as grouped or single, but I'm really getting confused in this whole numbering system as I really just have the episodes grouped in my head and in order. Ya see what I mean? Thanks again, The Flash {talk} 03:33, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Scratch that, "Dude" is the 22nd episode when ordering things in grouped, but still, I don't see how this is the 22nd episode grouped. The Flash {talk} 03:34, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, that episode list is a mess - I was going by the TV.com list. Here's what I got - I'm pretty sure that "Monster"/"Oil" was the fortieth episode broadcast, so ""The Monster[...]" is the first segment of the fortieth episode of Phineas and Ferb." Any not-horrible wording for that, lol? :P The Flash {talk} 03:50, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- lol, Okay, let me see if I can explain. Episodes are always shown as a 22 minute episode, but it's almost always made up of two unrelated segments, i.e., different episodes, though some are just a whole big 22 minute thing with just one segment, such as "Phineas and Ferb Get Busted". There are press releases, original ones, but they don't give episode numbers. However, the lists out there are confusing so I'm unsure what's true, but really early episodes (i.e., the first five or so) but the later ones get weird. So, yeah, I generally use the TV.com list as that actually has every episode, unlike IMDb, so I'm pretty sure it's right. Do you get it now? The Flash {talk} 04:06, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, good point! So there's 26 episodes, but there are two segments in each, so really there's 52. So, I think I might be right...or wrong :S The Flash {talk} 04:07, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
I know - I've actually read that entire interview around sixty times. You don't seem to see what I'm saying - that interview says they originally ordered 26, but those change sometimes. This show is divided into segments, so actually, if they meant 26 grouped episodes, that means they made 52. But this discussion is getting ridiculous and confusing - you're saying it's the 26 (?) episode because IMDb said it but not why after you mentioned the interview thing. Can you please explain? What I'm saying is it's the fortieth segment, which could just as much mean it was, with "Oil on Candace," the 20th or so episode. Here's the epguide that puts it as the 40th segment. But you're probably right on the whole 26 (?) episode, but this could mean it was the fortieth segment, see? The Flash {talk} 04:17, 18 August 2009 (UTC)- Never mind, I think you're right - really sorry for dragging this on. I was, like you, really confused. Sorry once more! :) The Flash {talk} 04:19, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, so just to clarify, this is settled right? We're both in agreement this is the fortieth segment (i.e., episode part) but apart of the 22nd episode? So, it's the first segment for the twenty second episode, but the fortieth segment overall? If so, phew, because this was extremely long and confusing, lol. The Flash {talk} 04:31, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Great! Actually, I just added the whole "mostly split into two segments" thing on the main page under "Writing style" - take a look. And actually, yes, the storytelling style is different from most shows, but the idea of having two episodes in one (which is what I mean by segment, BTW) is very usual for American animated programs. For example, Spongebob Squarepants, The Replacements (TV series), The Emperor's New School, Johnny Test, etc. But I might be going on the wrong road there, however... The Flash {talk} 04:50, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Sounds great! Glad this is settled. I'll be able to give a fuller statement in a couple of hours. Cheers, The Flash {talk} 05:33, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, so just to clarify, we just figured out that, yes, there are 26 episodes. Like most animated series, they are split up into two short form narratives, or segments, whatever, so each narrative is an episode. To make it easy to order it correctly, how's this - remove the whole "short form narrative" and just say episode, numbering by narrative number, but make sure to mention below it like in "Monster" that together it makes the 22nd episode. Sounds good? This can also be easily reformatted for the new episode list I'm designing by doing something like this. Sound good? The Flash {talk} 15:20, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Fine, but, seriously though, what you listed were adult animation. What I listed (and what this show is) are children's programs, which are almost always half-hours that are made up of two 11-minute episodes. Now, onto the main program thing, you're really overthinking this - the whole "11 minute segments" are, like I said, common to children's animated programs and is really nothing important that needs to be mentioned. I really don't think we need to go through all this extensive research to put something that I find is, while crucial, just misc. information. But I'm honestly really getting tired of this whole debacle when, like we've both proved, the show is clearly made of mostly half-hours that have two episodes in them. What more is there to say? Unless I'm missing something, putting "Almost each episode consists of two short-form narratives" is clearly enough. The Flash {talk} 16:56, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Wait, just hold on - I forgot something. Yeah, it is a weird thing, as they originally aired things with just on of the segments and not the two-in-one thing common to children's animated shows, so you're right, this is important. My apologies and please answer this and not what I have above, lol :P The Flash {talk} 17:00, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Got an idea! Here, we put an "Episode" section under "Plot and humor." Then we put "Main article: List of Phineas and Ferb episodes," and then put:
- Sounds good? The Flash {talk} 18:13, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, it may not be dominant but what I'm saying is it isn't rare - I'm still opposed to putting it in there at all, as IMO it's WP:TRIVIA, as several programs do this already. Yeah, maybe those shows don't, but there's such a vast amount of shows out there that do it makes it a normal thing that we really don't need to do so much research on. But fine, if you insist we put it in there, be my guest, but I really don't see the point. I already have a format, BTW, because the show's complicated format is 100% more odd than almost every episode having two 11-minute short forms. That's why they have that Emmy category, am I right? Unfortunately, none of the shows that are like this are good content wise, so I honestly can't say nothing else does it, but still, I honestly don't think it's relevant, well, at all. That's my opinion, at least.... The Flash {talk} 20:34, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
DYK for De Heidebloem, Erica
I've replied at T:TDYK. Mjroots (talk) 10:04, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- What exactly is your problem with articles on foreign windmills. Sure, there are likely to be less English language sources available, but that doesn't make them less notable. You question the notability of the mill on my talk page, but when I defend its notability I get shot down for doing so. If you really think the mill is not notable, then take it to WP:AFD and we'll put the nom on hold while the issue is thrashed out. Since I nominated it, the number of separate sources has gone from two to five. As I stated at T:TDYK, if an AfD nom is made, I will notify all relevant Wikiprojects of the fact with a simple notice that the article has been nominated.
- BTW, two separate editors have approved hooks based on the very sources that you deem non-reliable. So far, nobody has stated at WP:RSN the the sources are not reliable. Mjroots (talk) 14:46, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- I am working on sources. I did ask at the Mills Wikiproject on the Dutch Wikipedia - nl:Overleg_Wikipedia:Wikiproject/Molenproject. Apparently the mill is mentioned in a book. I have asked for facts to be referenced to that book if possible. Also, see WP:RSN where I have had a reply about the sources. Mjroots (talk) 20:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Have you seen the reply from Drmies re Molendatabase? If you accept what he says we can put this one to bed with both sources deemed to meet WP:RS. Mjroots (talk) 06:27, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- I've seen your reply. Not all participants in the discussion are solely those who participated in the T:TDYK discussion. As you are aware, I did ask the Dutch Molenproject for their views, and André Koopal responded there. I then copied his reply across to the discussion. Drmies has given his opinion that Molendatabase is reliable. He also gives a number of reasons why it is reliable. As we are agreed that the De Hollandsche Molen database is reliable, checking an individual mills entry on each site does not reveal any major differences between them. Sometimes the molendatabase has a little extra detail than De Hollandsche Molens. FWIW, I use the De Hollandsche Molens site first, then the Molendatabase when writing an article, but I consider them both reliable enough. I have e-mailed Molendatabase to ask what their source is for the statement in question, but haven't had a reply yet.
- Re Herbs Homepage. The Molens section would appear to be the result of research into his family tree, and the mills that were connected with his ancestors. Yes, it's a SPS, but Wikipedia policy does not say "at no time whatsoever shall a SPS be used as a reference", does it? Mjroots (talk) 09:08, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- I appreciate what you are saying about uninvolved editors chipping in. There are a number of regular contributors to RSN, but I've been reluctant to approach them directly as it could be seen as canvassing support. Would you mind if I was to drop a note on User:Blueboar's talk page asking for comment? Wording to be agreed by both of us before it is posted. I have had no previous interaction with this editor and do not know which side of the fence he will sit on. Mjroots (talk) 15:11, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- Any thoughts on my offer above to contact Blueboar (or another regular at RSN). As I said above, wording of any message to be agreed by us both. I've not contacted any editor over this yet, but would like to get the issue settled. Mjroots (talk) 09:05, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Re:Phineas and Ferb General renovations
Good idea! So, you've discovered the wonders of the press release site? lol. Yeah, I've used those a lot and am planning on continuing it. If there are episode pages for any of those, then the press release is already cited, including "Monster." Now, I think I might have overreacted about the whole WP:TRIVIA thing, because I don't see anything wrong with putting them in, I just still don't see why we really should use them is all, but, hey, there's enough sources for it so it should be fairly easy to put in. Not to mention, this could also mean we can make a huge section with subsections, in which we can include what channels and countries it broadcasts on, it's ratings, etc., so nice work, Czech! The Flash {talk} 22:25, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Didn't you read what I said above this post? "Now, I think I might have overreacted about the whole WP:TRIVIA thing, because I don't see anything wrong with putting them in, I just still don't see why we really should use them is all, but, hey, there's enough sources for it so it should be fairly easy to put in."
But, still, I really think you're making it seem like the setup of episodes for this show is a huge and odd thing when it really isn't, and no, it's not just me, it's the basic thing, I mean, are you seriously going to put that in ever 400-something shows that do this?(seriously, just ignore I said that, I misread it :P) But, seriously, I'm getting really tired of discussing this so I'm not going to argue, like I said above, I'm fine with it getting put it. Also, I'm gonna take the safe road here and take it you were typing that while I wrote that message? Because, really, if you didn't I don't see why you did that message at all, especially the Firefly message, when I actually said to do that - "Not to mention, this could also mean we can make a huge section with subsections, in which we can include what channels and countries it broadcasts on, it's ratings, etc.[...]" Ya see? I agreed with you before you wrote that post commenting on how I didn't agree with you, lol, :P Anyways, yeah, like I said, I'm fine with it. The Flash {talk} 00:44, 19 August 2009 (UTC)- Eh, no problem. Like I said above, I already figured that's what happened. So, complete agreement to add a broadcast history section, no? BTW, I haven't started on the List of episodes yet because I wanna make specific seasons (pretty much so I can get them all FL and make a FT) that actually have the descriptions and such and then just give the titles/date/credits in the main list. The Flash {talk} 03:10, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hey! I've finally found a source that specifically states almost every episode is 11-minute segments, spoken by one of the co-creators himself! Here it is - it's in the beginning. The Flash {talk} 17:24, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

I did not intend any rule violation, but what is unencyclopedic about the article? If anything, I would think {{Notability}} is the dispute template that applies given the nature of the AfD, and that was removed by the AfD closer. If there are issues obviously feel free to bring them up on the article talk page, but I do not feel what I did was incorrect or wrong. Staxringold talkcontribs 22:59, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm confused by the statement that "the article makes no attempt to source the hook at all". Perhaps you're only looking at the lead? I've made more comments and clarifications on the DYK page. Thanks for looking into this. Scartol • Tok 21:39, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

- If you have enough info to make an article, go for it. TTN doesn't like episode articles (he's reverted literally 1,000s, including some with proven notability). I also wouldn't bother with the noticeboard. It's followed by 3-4 people who also don't like episodes. I could be wrong, but TTN mentioned it as another way of saying "don't create it". If you do take it to the noticeboard, have it completely finished, because they may not like "I'm still working on it" as an answer. If you do decide to create it, drop me a line, I'll help. It would be good to have one JL episode written to a high standard as an example. A couple of years ago we had a ton of poorly written episodes as examples, and they lead to more poorly written articles. - Peregrine Fisher (talk) (contribs) 03:59, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Knowsley Road photographs
The first play-off game at Knowsley Road could be the last game to be played there. It's looking likely that not that many more games will be played at Knowsley Road, Belle Vue, The Willows or Wheldon Road and we have very few free-to-use images of them (although the ones we have, particularly of Wheldon Road are very good). I wouldn't like to see our material on these historic grounds go the same way as the very limited material we have for the historic Boulevard Ground, Thrum Hall or the Parkside Ground. If you will be at the next play-off game at Knowsely Road or if you are able to get any pictures of these grounds I would be very gratefull if you could upload them to commons. I can sort out the categories and such if you don't have any time. Alternatively if you know of anyone who could it would be much appreciated. I am unlikely to go to any away games next season because of my current circumstances so will not be able to contribute towards this, although I shall endevour to get some great images at home games (I've a load of the CC final to upload but there sat it a very long backlog).

Added template for SuggestBot
Hi,
Thanks for being one of SuggestBot's users! I hope you have found the bot's suggestions useful.
We are in the process of switching from our previous list-based signup process to using templates and userboxes, and I have therefore added the appropriate template to your user talk page. You should receive the first set of suggestions within a day, and since we'll be automating SuggestBot you will from then on continue to receive them regularly at the desired frequency.
We now also have a userbox that you can use to let others know you're using SuggestBot, and if you don't want to clutter your user talk page the bot can post to a sub-page in your userspace. More information about the userbox and usage of the template is available on User:SuggestBot/Getting Recommendations Regularly.
If there are any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me on my user talk page. Thanks again, Nettrom (talk) 23:42, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:17, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
