Topic banned

[edit]

As a result of this discussion on the administrators' noticeboard, you are now topic banned from making edits related to the topics of Islam or terrorism, broadly construed, for two months. For further information about what this entails, please see WP:TBAN. Any further edits in violation of this ban may result in an immediate block. --NeilN talk to me 08:29, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Block

[edit]

You've been blocked from editing for 24 hours for being in breach of the ban. Please note that future breaches will result in dramatically longer blocks. Thanks. El_C 10:20, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

LSo I have been classified as an enemy of the state, huh? Don't worry. I love a state within a state. Smfh. Forever a warrior against wikiwashing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cyrus the Penner (talkcontribs) 10:26, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You were aware of the topic ban but chose to violate it anyway—and only got a short block for your infraction. If anything, you're being treated with kid gloves. El_C 10:34, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry. I'm sure you're going to find some bullshit reason to expand it anyway, since I'm apparently a Wikipedian terrorist. Forever a warrior against wikiwashing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by [[User:|User:]] ([[User talk:#top|talk]] • contribs) 10:35, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
Okay. Anyway, as I told another user, who is also facing a ban right now: if you are here to right great wrongs, you're going to be dissapointed. El_C 10:50, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Cyrus the Penner: I just noticed this at WP:ANI and looked here to see what had happened. I removed the stray "L" that you accidentally inserted into El C's comment, and I added two unsigned templates above, but I left the "L" you inserted in front of your comment. Please use four tildes to sign comments. Johnuniq (talk) 11:25, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi. I am going to assume that your intemperate editing is not your usual style. And also that you were not engaged in some sort of misguided attempt to get me banned from Wikipedia (which is what your behavior at AN/I felt like at times). Many, many editors at Wikipedia begin badly, editing during a fit of righteous indignation, grief, or other real life stress. If this was the case, I urge you to take a deep breath and walk away from your keyboard for a while. And, if you are grieving over one of the recent deaths, then you have my deepest sympathy. If, however, you want to make contributions going forward, you will have to approach this project in a far calmer and more objective manner. WP:BATTLEGROUND behavior will merely get you banned, and worsen the already unpleasant atmosphere for editors working on terrorism -related pages. Editors can move past bad starts like the one you have had, and go on to become useful contributors. I hope that you will, and that, if your behavior is the result of some recent stressful event (such as a terrorist attack in your neighborhood,) then I am very, very sorry that you had to experience that horror. Looks like you were correct E.M.Gregory. Cyrus is a confirmed sock to DisuseKid who had expressed desire to drag you down ([1]). EvergreenFir (talk) 15:47, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Terrorist incidents in France in 2014 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
