Good to meet you

[edit]

Hi Katie. It was great to meet you on Saturday, very glad you came along. Hope all's well with you, give me a shout if you ever need anything. WormTT(talk) 12:36, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia UK is committed to supporting our volunteers and to encourage them to teach others how to edit Wikipedia, we are running a weekend training workshop. When the last event was held you noted your interest but were unable to attend, so you may like to know that the next event will take place on the weekend of 23–24 February in Newcastle. If you know anyone based in Scotland and northern England who might be interested going to the training please feel free to tell them about it. Richard Nevell (WMUK) (talk) 13:13, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Katie, you signed up to the training event but the venue has changed. The response from the community is that a different location would be easier for volunteers to get to. As such the training session will be held in Manchester on the same dates. I appreciate this may not be the case for yourself though I hope you're still interested in coming. I sincerely apologise if the change of location means you're no longer able to attend the event. If you could let us know on the event page whether you'll be attending that would be helpful. Thanks, Richard Nevell (WMUK) (talk) 15:09, 18 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the update, it's a real shame you can't make it. Hopefully future sessions may be more suitably placed or timed for you. Richard Nevell (WMUK) (talk) 11:53, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi Katie, I remember you mentioning at a Manchester meetup that you may be spending time in Scotland, so I thought I'd let you (and your talk page watchers) know that the first Glasgow meetup is scheduled for Sunday 12 May 2013, 1.00 pm at The Sir John Moore, 260-292 Argyle Street, City of Glasgow G2 8QW. If you know any other Wikimedians who may be interested, do let them know! Cheers --RexxS (talk) 19:22, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks - I have my final exams so I probably won't be able to make it but thanks for letting me know. --Cutiekatie (talk) 17:19, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WMUK Training the Trainers event

[edit]

Hi Katie,

You previously indicated an interest in attending a Training the Trainers event by Wikimedia UK but were unable to do so. The next event has now been arranged to be in Cardiff on 23—24 November. Have a look at the event page and do sign up if you are interested and available to attend. -- Katie Chan (WMUK) (talk) 13:30, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've left you a message on your WMUK wiki talk page. Regards Katie Chan (WMUK) (talk) 14:36, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Manchester event you may want to get involved with (27 October '13)

[edit]

Hi!

Even before the Train the Trainers - if you are interested - there is an event that you may like to attend ([1]). I thought you could support it as one of the trainers - doing some 1-1 tutoring to complete newcomers to Wikipedia. It will be a lovely event so it would be great to see you there! If you have any questions just let me know (daria.cybulska@wikimedia.org.uk). Travel expenses covered. Daria Cybulska (WMUK) (talk) 13:32, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oh gutted, I'm away working with a charity that weekend. Keep me on your list though for the future. Thanks for inviting me! Katie Cutiekatie (talk) 21:46, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:58, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
