For maintaining refill! What a great tool! Andre🚐 02:49, 8 August 2022 (UTC) |
- @Andrevan: thanks - though I feel like a fraud to accept this. reFill definitely wasn't my brilliant idea - it was originally developed by Zhaofeng Li so they deserve the credit. Also, I am not really actively maintaining the code - I'm a .NET developer by background and while I was hoping to cross-train myself, the reality is I found the learning curve for the various languages, frameworks and toolkits involved too steep. If you are interested and have any spare capacity, it would be great to have you on board as a dev! Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 14:19, 8 August 2022 (UTC)

- @Andrevan: Great!! Maybe start by looking at Wikipedia:Refill/technical, and if you're a Windows user, there's an install guide at Wikipedia:Refill/Windows. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 17:16, 8 August 2022 (UTC)

- @Curb Safe Charmer, I checked out the repo but I got stuck in trying to install Python 3.8. I have asdf, pyenv, and python 3.8 installed, but the make setup script still chokes and I haven't figured out why yet. Andre🚐 02:12, 9 August 2022 (UTC)

Prométhée (NewSpace) article submission declined
As far as I understand, you declined my Prométhée (NewSpace) because “that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject”.
I discussed it with a previous reviewer (Greenman) who also declined the article for the same reason. After a short discussion with him, I changed the sources I used to ones that are praised in Wikipedia : "Les Echos" ("he first daily French financial Newspaper, founded in 1908") and "Le Figaro" ("one of the three French newspapers of record"). I think these are reliable sources and I ad links to real articles written by journalists and not copied-pasted "press releases".
So, I’m wondering what I need to add/remove/update in order to comply to Wikipedia rules regarding sources. Could you take a few minutes to explain?
Thank you very much !
Bruno Bruno renkin (talk) 08:52, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Bruno renkin: if you look at that message again there are four parts:
- Published
- Reliable
- Secondary
- Independent
- Les Echos and Le Figaro are published, reliable sources. The publishers are no doubt independent of Prométhée, though it is not automatically the case that their writer is independent - freelance journalists may have written a paid-for piece. But in this case, the issue is WP:SECONDARY coverage. As I wrote on the draft's talk page, we need sources that provide "independent journalistic analysis, evaluation or interpretation" rather just stating that something took place. The article in Le Figaro has no byline so we don't know who wrote it; it exclusively relies on information provided by the company's president Olivier Piepsz; there are lots of quotes from him or a press release that Le Figaro has enclosed in quotation marks; the writer hasn't added any of their own analysis, evaluation or interpretation. It is not investigative journalism. Wikipedia doesn't give much weight to announcements of funding rounds when establishing notability, and that is what this source seems to be. I am not a subscriber to Les Echos so was not able to assess that source, but as there must be at least two good sources to establish notability, even if that was a great source that met the criteria, the Le Figaro piece does not, and one good source is not enough.
- We generally advise new Wikipedia editors to contribute to existing articles for a while first before trying to create a new article from scratch as there's so much to learn and get right, which I think you're experiencing. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 12:54, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
- Makes perfect sense.
- Thanks a lot, I'll wait for more investigative papers. Bruno renkin (talk) 07:26, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

Re: Your removal of CSD template on Draft:Fawn Parker
Admins will typically delete autobiographies de facto under G11. Two of the references on the draft are simply links to her books on her publisher's website and another is simply a link to her website. Also, her paragraph about her life is unsourced and she's plugging her future work in the third paragraph, also unsourced. These factors combined with the user's edit history relating exclusively to herself are why I nominated the draft for deletion. Since you disagree, I won't re-add the CSD template, but I just wanted to let you know. Uhai (talk · contribs) 17:50, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
The "Paid Contributors" Tag on Ephemeral
Hi Curb Safe Charmer,
I see you just added a "paid contributors" tag to a page I submitted via AfC. The tag says, "This article contains paid contributions. It may require cleanup to comply with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly neutral point of view. Please discuss further on the talk page."
I'm confused. Isn't this "paid contributors" tag for cases of WP:UPE? I disclosed my COI on my Talk page and in the Talk page for this article, and I've followed WP:NPOV.
Or does Wikipedia require that this tag be added to any article submitted via AfC by a paid contributor?
Thank you for clarifying.
Signed,
BlueRoses13 (talk) 15:35, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- @BlueRoses13: the disclosures you currently have on your user talk page should be elsewhere. The template you've used is the one that goes on the article talk page. As the template instructions say "this template should be placed on the talk pages of articles and drafts". Please move them to the relevant articles' or drafts' talk pages. You then need to use the {{paid}} template on your user page, once for each employer.
- The paid contributions template is for articles or drafts where the author has already declared that they've been paid to contribute to the article. It is distinct from the undisclosed paid template, which is used where other editors suspect that it has been created or edited by someone on a paid basis, but that editor has not made a declaration. It does not have to be added to articles which have paid contributions, but it is useful at this stage to flag to reviewers that you've already made a declaration. It means when they read it they don't start thinking "this reads like the work of a paid editor" and then going to look if you've made a declaration and if not ask you to do so. In practice I think reviewers will give your draft a better assessment than if you'd not declared it.
- I note that you say you've followed the NPOV guideline, but given your conflict of interest that's not for you to say; it will be the task of an Articles for Creation reviewer and a New Page Patrol reviewer to look at the references and see whether your draft does or doesn't take a neutral point of view.
- Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 16:51, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your speedy and detailed answer, @Curb Safe Charmer. I understand why adding the "paid" tag to an AfC draft would be helpful (despite the other disclosures), and you are indeed right: a decision about NPOV is best left to unconflicted reviewers. My apologies, and thanks again. Signed, BlueRoses13 (talk) 18:56, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

Sandi's Song
Please look up Sayin' It with Love by Steve Camp on Wikipedia. This article also doesn't have any additional sources except a link to Christian Music Archive and yet it was acceptable. Must specify what additional information you need in an article. Do you mean chart placements, awards, etc? Most Christian music artists don't have additional sources or information. I have used Discogs and Allmusic for album information and album covers. Joelcab123 (talk) 20:12, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Joelcab123: Thanks, I've now redirected Sayin' It with Love to the article about Steve Camp. Paul Lee page
Yesterday I added a death date to Paul Lee's page, (October 19, 2022). He was a good friend and one of his closest friends informed me. I only added that. I wanted to add a page on my archival historical site, http://www.cuke.com/people/lee-paul.htm, but I didn't see where to do that. You wrote: "Hello, I'm Curb Safe Charmer. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Paul Lee (environmentalist), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so.: " - I'm not going to do anything other than send you this note. Actually my name should be enough - or cuke.com which is a 23 year old respected historical archival site. I don't know what else I can do and I don't have time to do more anyway. Take care. David Chadwick (dchad3@sonic.net) David Reich Chadwick (talk) 02:59, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- @David Reich Chadwick: I appreciate that you are certain what you have added is factual. However, while Wikipedia is the encyclopaedia that anyone can edit, the WP:Verifiability policy is a cornerstone of how Wikipedia operates and says "even if you are sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it." It must be possible for the reader to verify the statement in a reliable, published source. As your third-hand knowledge of Mr Lee's death is not a verifiable, published source the statement should be removed from the article. If a published source becomes available, such as an obituary in a national newspaper than it can be re-added with an inline reference. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 14:51, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
Marty York Resubmission
Hi Curb Safe Charmer,
I wanted to follow up on the feedback and advice that you gave me regarding my Marty York draft submission a few months back. I finally found the time to do some research and find sources that I think meet the criteria for three key sources to demonstrate notability, based on how you explained the requirements. I've attempted to list them on the draft's talk page.
I tried to make a note on the page itself about my progress, but I am still (relatively) a beginner to this process so I apologize if I did not enter it correctly, as I'm not the most savvy with the editing layout so I can't tell if my notes have gone through as intended and I know others have edited or reviewed the article since.
My intention was to provide the following three sources as the 3 for notability:
1) https://rrj.ca/whipping-boy/
2) https://books.google.ca/books?id=7UmdBQAAQBAJ&pg=PA77&source=gbs_toc_r&cad=3#v=onepage&q&f=false (Chapter 7 - "The Enemy")
3) Borenstein, Jack (September 1, 2005). "Sports' Marty York returns to his print media roots". The Jewish Tribune. p. 11. Retrieved November 11, 2022. Link to Photo of the article: https://imgur.com/a/ntmPzRE
I hope I have updated this correctly, as I do want the article to comply with Wikipedia's standards. I don't want my lack of familiarity with the ins and outs of the process to come across the wrong way!
Thank you for any feedback or update you can provide me on this article when you have a chance.

Own words....?
I have been asked by Stéphane Plante to put this page together for her. I have taken paragraphs written by her from her bio with the city of Ottawa (hence you saying not orginal). Then you delete wording that on my draft. It takes a lot of time to redo my citations. I have look at other councillors pages and the depth of what she is doing in her life in my opinion in broad in scope like getting a park renamed, walkable communities and addressing doctors shortages, and opinions on critical issues for her riding. You have deleted on this from my last draft. I went to the French wiki. Put in a sentence or two in English and it published...so why are the rules so difficult in the English. Of course we are going to be building on this page of the next four years regularly as she gains more experience in her new job. 207.35.246.114 (talk) 13:44, 26 November 2022 (UTC)

How is it contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia? It is sourced. Fastfoodfanatic (talk) 16:40, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- Chick-fil-A and LGBT people exists! Fastfoodfanatic (talk) 16:43, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Fastfoodfanatic::
- Aoidh already explained to you what the issues with the draft are. I will reiterate here in my own words:
- Wikipedia is not a soapbox or means of promotion.
- Reference 4 ("Tulsa Chick-Fil-A Damaged After Fire In Drive-Thru") makes no mention of race as a motive. The connection with Oklahoma 'being a racist state' is your WP:SYNTHESIS.
- Reference 8 ("San Francisco is the third city to tell Chick-fil-A: Keep out") makes no mention of race as a reason for the mayor's comments.
- Reference 9 ("Lawsuit alleges Chick-Fil-A discriminates against disabled job applicants") and 10 ("Kwon et al v. Chick-fil-A, Inc") only mention disability, not race, so this doesn't belong in an article that implies the company is racist.
- I cannot see any relevance to the article in the list of Asian franchise owners.
- The incidents where individual staff members have made racial slurs does not mean the company is racist. These can be isolated incidents, perhaps where the individual employee is racist. The company fired the individuals involved or issued apologies.
- Wikipedia writes about topics that have already been written about in depth in other reliable, independent publications - this is the basis of the notability policy. For this subject to be shown to be notable, there would already be, for example, national newspaper articles written about corporate racism at Chick-Fil-A that you could cite.
- When a draft is accepted into mainspace you are writing in Wikipedia's voice, which many people trust, and it is inappropriate to include an article that is based on your synthesis of a list of isolated incidents that implies a company is inherently racist.
- Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 18:37, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- The article is NOT implying CFA is inherently racist. It is a list of incidents and facts related to both Chick-fil-A and Asian Americans, and the list of franchise owners shows the article is not meant to be one-sided. Plus "many people trust" is not a good reasoning - the fact is Wikipedia should not shy away from topics like this, and it is NOT considered a reliable source by experts and teachers. Fastfoodfanatic (talk) 18:51, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- Irrespective of your intention, as a reader who has never been to one of their restaurants, I interpreted what you had written as implying that the company is racist. What you have written is contrary to WP:NPOVVIEW. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 18:54, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- That's your opinion, and I can reword it and change the description to just be an article about all Chick-fil-A facts relating to Asian Americans. Would that be fine? Fastfoodfanatic (talk) 18:56, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- No. You should expand the Chick-fil-A article instead. Any decision to WP:CONTENTFORK should be proposed on that article's talk page and a consensus achieved before writing a spinoff article. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 19:01, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- Why is it not fine? There is enough content to justify a separate page, similar to Chick-fil-A and LGBT people. Fastfoodfanatic (talk) 19:02, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

Regarding Times 40
Hi Curb,
As you've said Anjali Phougat WP:Films which I think he is not as she won the cannes film award for her LGBT film. Second thing you have said times 40 is not notable award so let me explain. The times 40 under 40 is notable award by the Times group which is one of the largest media group of APAC. Some of the references for you where you can learn the notability of Times 40 under 40. Fortune 40 under 40 has Wikipedia page, later ET and Times Group merged into it. Fortune India is the main example of [1]
Thirdly she is into fashion field and i think attending international events pass the notability WP:GNG Draft:Anjali Phougat But still I am fixing the article more.
[2]https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/company/corporate-trends/et-40-under-forty-india-incs-top-young-leaders-2021/ankit-agarwal-38/slideshow/90744257.cms [3]https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/times-40-under-40-north-2022-leaders-honouring-excellence/articleshow/92646683.cms https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/40_Under_40 Hukumat Namanzoor (talk) 09:00, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Hukumat Namanzoor: I know that The Times of India is a major newspaper. According to WP:TOI, the consensus is that editors consider it a neutrally reliable or unreliable source. That is not the issue here. When assessing notability, reviewers pay little or no regard to someone being in a '40 under 40' list, no matter who the publisher is. We look for independent, in-depth coverage in reliable sources, which I have established are lacking in this draft.
- For filmmakers, we also look at WP:FILMMAKER which provides specific guidance as to which filmmakers are likely to be notable. Which of those four criteria does Phougat meet?
- The Cannes Global Short Film Festival isn't part of the Cannes Film Festival - if she had won the Short Film Palme d'Or that would be notable.
- Editors have twice deleted articles about her based on consensus that she is not notable.
- Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 10:19, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- Editor deleted it because the previous ones has 10 references and that too SEO blackhat websites (you can compare all the deleted version with this one kindly) but none of the articles are used in this version which were previously deleted. All are major independent news outlets. I have seen 17 Wikipedia pages of her competitors or from the same field, they have 5 references in Google and they have Wikipedia page and none bother to delete it. Pakistan Today is independent newspaper which tells clearly that Phougat has won times 40 under 40, if we look into US publications then we see more independent coverage.
- The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors (Phougat is definitely passing it, I can share 5 Independent references)
- The person has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work or collective body of work. In addition, such work must have been the primary subject of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews, or of an independent and notable work (for example, a book, film, or television series, but usually not a single episode of a television series) (Phougat's film is mentioned by independent third party news websites including ANI the national news agency of India)
- She is also a designer and was part of NYFW 2022 where she was recognized as well, doesn't makes her notable??
- The person's work (or works) has: (a) become a significant monument, (b) been a substantial part of a significant exhibition, (c) won significant critical attention, or (d) been represented within the permanent collections of several notable galleries or museums. (Phougat is designer and she was the official stylists of Miss Universe Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu Anjali's design was wore by many models and Anjali's design was not only mentioned by independent news outlets but also mentioned by the Harpar Bazaar. Hukumat Namanzoor (talk) 10:33, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- She is Manya Pathak in Cannes 2022 she wore the Anjali's design, Anjali was mentioned by multiple news outlets as she was appeared in red carpet of Cannes.[4]https://www.koimoi.com/fashion-lifestyle/cannes-2022-dilli-darlings-fame-manya-pathak-walks-the-prestigious-red-carpet-looking-stunning-in-luxury-brand-designer-dream-collection-by-anjali-phougat/eam-collection-by-anjali-phougat/
- I have not mentioned the APN News here but this is one of the notable magazine of India Hukumat Namanzoor (talk) 10:37, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- Which five references shows that Phougat's filmmaking is widely cited by peers? Which well-known work has she created that has been the main subject of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews or had a film, book or TV series made about it?
- No, just being a designer and having a celebrity wear your dress does not make someone notable by Wikipedia's definition.
- Her designs being worn by models is not a significant monument, not part of a significant exhibition of her work. Which fashion critics have given them significant critical attention? Which gallery or museum have her dresses in them?
- The Koimoi.com link you provided above returns a 404 error.
- The APN News reference is a PR piece where the designer talks about herself, rather than independent coverage.
- I am afraid you continue to fail to convince me. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 10:45, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- I would definitely convince you cuz you're continuously forcing other editors not to review the page by adding remarks which tells clearly that you want other editors not to pass this Wikipedia at any cost. Hi Curb Safe Charmer. You're a maintainer of reFill. Quick question: what does one need to do to add more wikis to the drop down menus at refill.toolforge.org? Where does one localize/translate CS1 templates (or just their names, leaving English parameter names) for other wikis? I'd be interested in adding support for hrwiki, but I'm not sure what needs to be done. Thnx, Ponor (talk) 13:00, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
Reply to your message re: More Than I Want to Remember
Hello!
Thank you for your message! I believe my Wiki article to be factual and unbiased, as I worked to closely follow the terms laid out on Wikipedia. I am not being paid to create this page, though I do know about the project. It is a short film that is shortlisted for an Oscar and we are trying to give it (like all the other animated shorts on Wiki) a Wiki page for reference. As you mentioned, I'd love to ask you or another editor to proofread this page, as I think you'll find it ready to publish and meeting Wiki's terms. Please let me know if you need anything else and thank you so much for reaching out so quickly!

Assistance, please
I am trying to document a feature of text editors, and attempted to follow the example of other headings in a request that I document the feature. If I can not document Virtual Space with an article, then how should I document the meaning of Virtual Space in the context of a text editor. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_text_editors
I've spent hours trying to contribute, and I do not have much more time to give. Regards, Tribernia (talk) 17:09, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Tribernia: hi. I can see that you're trying to document which editors include virtual space support and another editor has questioned what this feature is. I think you should write a sentence or two about what it is within the comparison of text editors list, and then add a reference to a reliable source backing up what you've written. You don't need there to be a separate article about virtual space. For there to be a separate article you'd need to be able to show that multiple reliable, independent publications such as books, academic journals or reliable technology magazines had written in-depth about the subject, which I presume is unlikely. Wikipedia only includes articles about subjects that are notable. I hope this doesn't put you off contributing to Wikipedia. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 17:19, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
Humanist and Non-religious in Defence
Dear CSC,
Thank you for your feedback. This is my first attempt at creating a wiki page. I understand and agree the points you make. My question is that as I was basing content on another wiki page Armed Forces Christian Union, and they have had theirs published, please can you advise on where I am failing to make a similar page to theirs which I assumed was ok due to it having been published. Many thanks, Neil Ndweddell (talk) 13:11, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Ndweddell: You'd be best letting someone else who is independent of HAND write about it due to your conflict of interest. Writing a Wikipedia article is hard enough without the added challenge of removing your inevitable bias. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a means of free publicity - try setting up a website, or see this list of alternative platforms.
- While it might seem sensible to base your article on the existing one for AFCU, that article doesn't meet Wikipedia's standards and will probably be deleted. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 13:22, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Draft:Virtual Walk in Clinics in Canada
Hello Curb Safe Charmer. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft:Virtual Walk in Clinics in Canada, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Virtual clinics are a serious issue invading the Canadian health care system. An encyclopedic treatment is warranted; this isn't it and it should have been rejected, but there's a kernel of an article here and the author should be given the opportunity to work on it. It is not unambiguously promotional. Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:12, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
Please give me your thoughts on my draft

Draft:Godson Umeh
You declined my article Draft:Godson Umeh despite the subject been feature in many publishing reliable media houses @Curb Safe Charmer subject has enjoyed significant coverage since last. submission. from The Sun (United Kingdom) [5] which simply is kind of a controversial fight having the fact that he had to wait for 15 minutes before coming out to fight only to lose after Round One of the fight, which actually made headlines also.
Also passing mention from Daily mirror [6] [7] subject also have been the headline of many Nigeria media houses which have been deemed reliable.
Please explain to me why you still feel the subject is not qualified. Beckyrose233 (talk) 05:57, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Beckyrose233: I have already explained my reasoning, which can be read in the comment I added to the draft which is also available on your user talk page. Regarding the argument you make above, The Sun is not considered to be a reliable source, and is not to be used to establish notability of a subject - per WP:THESUN. There is no consensus on whether the Daily Mirror is to be considered more reliable than The Sun - see WP:DAILYMIRROR. As you said, they are only mentioned in one sentence in the Daily Mirror and the same in The Daily Express. I suggest you find another subject to write about. ReferenceExpander
Just a friendly heads-up in case you weren't already aware, since it's installed on your common.js: Careless use of ReferenceExpander has caused serious problems. It's currently at MFD, and a large cleanup project is underway to repair the citations damaged by the script. I and several other users have !voted that the script be deleted or disabled, and I wouldn't recommend using it at all unless you thoroughly check every reference it modifies against the previous revision. Draft:RAAAF
Hi Curb Safe Charmer, quite some months ago you declined my draft for a Wikipedia article on Dutch artist studio RAAAF. You gave me some valuable comments/links with respect to the guidelines on referencing, notability and having to write the article in my own words, which made me fully understand why the article was declined. I have used these comments for rewriting the article (this is what it looks like now: Draft:RAAAF). Any further comments would be welcome. At this point the article does most likely still need some work, and I do not plan to resubmit before I am more certain it meets Wikipedia's standards.

Draft:Bernard Schapiro - need help regarding sources and references
Hi Curb Safe Charmer, first of all - thank you for reviewing and improving the draft. There are many different references online, some of them in German, some in Hebrew and some in English. I've incorporated some of them where I saw fit in the article itself. How can we further improve the article ?
Thank you!
as for the needed notability criteria, I believe there are many supporting references online- here are some of them,
- Significant Contributions to Sexual Science: Dr. Schapiro's research and work in sexual science, particularly during the early 20th century, have had a lasting impact on the field. You can find some of his contributions on PubMed.
- Association with a Renowned Institution: His role as the Assistant Director at the Institute for Sexual Science in Berlin, a pioneering institution in sexual science, significantly adds to his notability. More about his role can be found on the Hirschfeld in Berlin website.
- Collaboration with Renowned Individuals: Dr. Schapiro worked closely with Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld, a prominent figure in sexual science. This association further enhances his notability. More about their collaboration can be found on the Magnus Hirschfeld Gesellschaft website.
- Groundbreaking Research: He co-authored several scientific papers, including a notable study on transvestism. This groundbreaking research has been recognized for its importance in the field. More about his research can be found on Manchester Scholarship Online.
- Historical Recognition: Dr. Schapiro's contributions to sexual science are recognized in several historical records and photographs, indicating his importance and influence during his time. Some of these records can be found on the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum website.
Below are some additional references used, in no particular order.
- Bernard Schapiro in the US National Library of Medicine
- Bernard Schapiro in the Institute of Sexual Sciences:

credibility
Hello, you wrote that my edits were not verifiable. I am not sure what your policy requires. In this instance I was working with Tony Athos when he helped create this 7 S model and my facts are based on my real time experience. I actually used the 7 S model in a class at Harvard Business School in 1981, probably one of the first times the model was ever used at Harvard. If you want me to cite someone else's work that is published, I could possibly look to some recent information that was published by Tom Peters, but I don't care to do that. You are simply asking me to cite what he remembers and in an article in 2019 he writes similar information. At the end of the article in what is currently online it does talk about the contributions from Tony Athos. It just doesn't mention tham at the top of the article which is all that people might read. That is why I wanted to make the changes I suggested.
Chuck Wolfe CjwEmotRd (talk) 15:27, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- @CjwEmotRd: as the message I left for you said, "Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations verified in reliable, reputable print or online sources or in other reliable media." It is not sufficient for you to write something in Wikipedia's voice, based on your personal experiences, which readers cannot verify. Please see WP:V for the policy on this, which says "Even if you are sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it." If you aren't willing to provide a source then your contribution won't be included. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 15:39, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, actually I am suggesting the changes, not just based on my memory, but what is on the existing Wikipedia page. The correct information is already printed on your page, which says that Tony and Richard contributed to the authorship of the Model. It just doesn't appear at the top of your Wikipedia page where most people will stop reading. Since it is already accepted in your page, but towards the bottom, could you put it also on top.
- Here is a quote from the 6th paragraph on the Wikipedia page under History.
- "In 1980, Waterman joined Peters, and, along with Waterman's friend Tony Athos and Richard Pascale - both academics - came together at a two-day retreat in San Francisco to develop what would become known as the 7S Framework," CjwEmotRd (talk) 16:57, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you; I understand now. However, the lead section should be short, concise and summarise the key facts - see Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section for the guideline. I don't think the sentences that you proposed adding belong in the lead, and I think the existing lead should probably be pared back a little - it seems to me that MBWA is somewhat tangential to be in the lead. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 17:16, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- You are right. (MBWA) "Management By Walking Around" was a very clever idea Tom Peters wrote about in his book In Search of Excellence however it has nothing to do with the 7 S Model. To get the facts right you should get rid of that and replace it with the fact that Tony Athos, who Robert Waterman acknowledges as absolutely critical to the model's development should be listed as one of the authors. You do want to get this to be correct. CjwEmotRd (talk) 19:28, 27 July 2023 (UTC)

Ref Page Agri Sena
Hi,
Thank you for your feedback. You have mentioned "This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. ". The issue is Agri Sena was found in 1983 and there are not enough news articles available online. There are lot of social media sources available but i doubt if that would be considered as reliable source. Could you guide me on what i can present as reliable source? Thanks
regards,
dinesh Mhatrewiki (talk) 18:58, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Mhatrewiki: reliable sources don't have to be online - they can include books, newspapers, magazine articles, academic papers or journals. Social media sources don't really help. What we are looking for is the extent to which independent sources have written in depth about the organisation. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 11:05, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Curb Safe Charmer,
- Thank you for feedback. I added manifesto of Agri Sena i read from books "Nirdhar" and "Nirbhay" written on founder of Agri Sena Rajaram Salvi. However I got feedback that i am making and advertisement and that got deleted under speedy deletion. Later I took help of a similar organization page on wikipedia Kunabi Sena to write current content for Agri Sena. Do you think the current content looks good?

Draft: Petzone
Hey so my article got rejected on basis of its lack of notability. I avoided trying to add more about the subject from obvious sources (like their website for example) as I do not want to use that as a direct reference. Also will adding images or a info box on the side improve the overall notable aspects of the page? Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Averus19 (talk) 10:40, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Averus19: Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a directory of companies. It only includes companies that are notable. You cannot fix a lack of notability. Please find another subject to write about. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 10:54, 31 August 2023 (UTC)

New pages patrol newsletter
Hello Curb Safe Charmer,
Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!
October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.
PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.
Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.
Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.
Reminders:
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Page Patrol Discord.
- Consider adding the project discussion page to your watchlist.

ReFill RfC
Hi, recall Wikipedia:Village_pump_(proposals)/Archive_187#RfC:_Block_reFill_tool_until_fixed. I believe we left it that we would wait a year or so and see how things went. I'm considering another RfC, but before I do, I wanted to check how things are going. I looked at the Github page and see a few closed issues, outweighed by newly opened issues (since January 2022). There is some work being done, but it's hard to tell how substantial it is. A report from a new user of the tool is that it is "squirrely as f**k". Many rodents still alive, apparently. -- GreenC 17:23, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
- reFill remains in need of developers. As you pointed out last time, a couple of people stepped forward but didn't actually do anything. A few months back, Folly Mox called for the underlying issues in Citoid, which is meant to be WMF-maintained, to be addressed. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 07:05, 10 October 2023 (UTC)

Hello Curb Safe Charmer:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.

Are you aware that I moved that article to draftspace (per my edit summary) because it was a non EC ARBPIA creation. See Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard#A_few_further_examples. There is also NPOV controversy over the title. Polyamorph (talk) 19:35, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Polyamorph "If EC editors then want to take repsonsibility for them, then fine"? Re the title, let's have an article talk page discussion. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 21:50, 4 November 2023 (UTC)

Help and feedback on article Rosemarie Scolaro Moser
Thank you for your advice on using Google Scholar. I have since added another resource (Research Gate) as well as an article in Suburban Life-Philadelphia that covered my work. Please advise on how I can improve this page. Should I cut out more of it? Should I omit certain resources? I have looked at colleagues Jon Baron and Eileen Kennedy Moore pages and their sources are not as independent. Baron refers to his vita and Moore's seems lacking in support. Is this Moser page really hopeless? Thank you for your help. SportsNeuropsychology100 (talk) 15:43, 17 November 2023 (UTC)

Draft article -- Retrieval Augmented Generation
Hello Charmer, thank you for your thoughts on the Draft submission. In the past, Wikipedia had stub articles so I thought my article would qualify for that type. Oh well, I will add more details to the article and re-submit it. Numiri (talk) 18:36, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Numiri: We do indeed have stubs, but we try to avoid having information on the same subject in two different places. It is better to expand the content we already have about RAG before starting a new article. You can then WP:SPLIT the article once there's too much about RAG within the existing article. 19:46, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

Request on 07:21:29, 28 February 2024 for assistance on AfC submission by Sorbete de Cereza
Hello! I'm wondering what exactly is wrong with the source I've used for this article; is it not sufficient? Is it an availability issue? Should I have used inline citations?
Sorbete de Cereza (talk) 07:21, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Sorbete de Cereza: You only have one source, which is a conference paper that according to Google Scholar has only been referenced four times.
- Please add additional references from independent sources that cover the subject in-depth, allowing the reader to verify for themselves that the information is correct and also to satisfy the notability criteria for inclusion of the subject in the encyclopedia. About my topic
Mr Curb Safe Charmer, i am here to talk to you about my article that i wrote about Abdul Salam al Bakr, you said to me that i need to search some better sources about him and the provided sources in the draft are the best sources online because there are a few sources about the aforementioned person so review my sources on last time and if not provided. post it and tag it with reference reviewing and by time, someone with better knowledge about the person could add his sources and thank you for reading Yousifali777 (talk) 17:50, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Yousifali777: Wikipedia should contain only facts about somebody which readers can verify in reliable published sources. Your draft seems to be based on what the subject has written or said, or based on your opinions. The burden to provide reliable sources for information lies with the editor that added the material (i.e. you) and can't be left to some other editor who comes along in future. If there aren't any published sources for what you have written, it doesn't belong in Wikipedia. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 10:54, 14 March 2024 (UTC)

Undisclosed paid template on CS Energy page
Hi, I noticed that you categorised the CS Energy page as having been created or edited in return for undisclosed payments. Can you suggest what cleanup is needed to help it comply with Wikipedia's content policies? Thanks LisaW at CSEnergy (talk) 00:53, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
- @LisaW at CSEnergy: Rather than editing articles about CSEnergy or related topics directly, you must make WP:EDITREQUESTs instead, unless the edit is trivial in nature, such as fixing a typo. See Template:Edit_COI for how. Someone with no connection with the company will review your request and if approved, make the change on your behalf. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 16:12, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, I don't have html skills to use that template. However, I followed the link to the editing request wizard where I was able to declare that I work for CS Energy. I have made a couple of updates to the CS Energy page in the last two days. I have tried to make them neutral and have cited independent sources. Jersey fire/explosion
I am curious as to what caused this explosion. Why is there so much detail on what investigations were initiated with zero conclusions after all this time? That seems rather pointless? 193.237.218.88 (talk) 05:02, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
- I am sure many Islanders are curious about the cause of the 2022 St Helier explosion. However Wikipedia articles should only contain verifiable facts, backed up with reliable published sources. It is not a place for speculation. The article can only state the cause of the explosion once the outcome of the investigation has been published by the States of Jersey Police, newspapers etc. This is yet to happen, though is expected soon. Hello there!
I am seeing that you're not supporting me to post a certain article on wiki. Can I know the reason please, I think "Hussain Saddam" have that much popularity to be on Wikipedia.
Thanks Siddiqee Shrestha (talk) 09:49, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Siddiqee Shrestha: I have already provided reasons, both at the top of Draft:Hussain Saddam and on your user talk page, so it is a concern that you've clearly not read that feedback.
- The Wikipedia community has established criteria for which people should have articles about them in the encyclopedia and which should not. See WP:NBIO and WP:NPOL to understand that it is not about 'popularity'. Before being re-reviewed, your draft would need to show through the references that his life has been written about in depth by multiple, reliable, independent publications. At the moment, several of the references you've used are dead links. You'll also need to ensure that the article is written neutrally, which it isn't at the moment. See WP:NPOV. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 09:59, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
- Okay got it. I am going to update the references soon. Siddiqee Shrestha (talk) 10:17, 12 June 2024 (UTC)

Hi!
I read your comment on Draft:Lina Hamdan. I accessed all my references in Canada, so I didn't expect the links not to work somewhere else in the West (maybe all .sy websites are blocked? No clue.) I digress -- how do I make sure the links are accessible? Wayback machine doesn't have any captures of the websites. Should I [try to] archive them on there? Link them by PDF?
I'm relatively new to this so I really appreciate your feedback!

Hi this is Ruquiya. I cannot understand the specific reason for decline. Read more like an advertisement or neutral point of view, i think my article about Aarti BR Singh is not at all an advertisement. Its her life journey. I have given many references which i believe are independent. Ruquiya Jabeen (talk) 08:30, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Ruquiya Jabeen: examples of promotional langugage: "bold personality", "incredibly autonomous", "two lovely children", "most ambitious girl", "effectively raising her children", "sacrificing her entire career". While you have added references, they are not inline, so it is impossible to see which statements can be verified by which references. Your draft article, Draft:Murder of the Newalls
Hello, Curb Safe Charmer. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or draft page you started, "Murder of the Newalls".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. ✗plicit 00:15, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for text. The books that have been used as references are a valuable source as they contain a lot of historical records and national archived material about that family and individual. I am not sure how I can cite the pages individually. Is there a way of doing this? Looking at the information in the books, the press office for that individual and family are said to censor a lot of information, not sure of the reason. I don't know why those authors have written about the individual and family. I have had a lengthy look at the sources and there are many verified facts across books, articles and magazines. Is there a way of uploading magazine articles covering the individual and family? The posts linked are the official interviews, speeches, or statements by recognised figures related to the article, which are be considered primary sources and carry weight. I have corroborated information and these are credible sources. Not sure what else to do. Do assist. Twentyone1111 (talk) 15:12, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Twentyone1111: I have had another look at the sources, and nothing changes in my view. Self-published books are not reliable sources. If you have sources in reliable magazines, by all means add those as sources. See Template:Cite magazine for how. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 08:25, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
Redirect shortcuts
Hello! I noticed you expanded an rcat shortcut on the 802.3 standards redirect. Is this a case of WP:DOFIXIT? If so, I might add it to that policy. Tule-hog (talk) 20:44, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Tule-hog: interesting - I had to take a look to see what you meant. This was an automated edit using the Capricorn gadget. I used it to mark the redirect as reviewed, and I think it was the gadget that expanded it. I don't think there's any issue with using the abbreviated form. IIT BHU essays
Hello. You commented at Draft:Scale Analysis of Viscous Rotational Flow: "Hello. Is this being submitted as part of a university course?" It seems that there nine of these so far. There doesn't seem to be an instructor account leading any of these student accounts. Your thoughts? Wikishovel (talk) 14:07, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Wikishovel: hi, yes, there's a thread about this here. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 14:10, 8 October 2024 (UTC)

Canvassing
I understand you had positive intentions in your notice to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Articles for creation, but this would be pretty clear WP:CANVASSING from my point of view. I reverted your post because it had not yet been replied to and I wanted to reach out about it. Hey man im josh (talk) 18:07, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- Just jumping in here to add that Josh asked me for a sanity check on this and I agreed that this would be seen as canvassing - but I really do think this was done in the best possible faith! I think there's a version of this message (that doesn't mention individual candidates) that might be possible to post without coming off as canvassing, but you might want to draft it somewhere like your sandbox first and get a couple people to sanity-check it because this can get really sensitive. -- asilvering (talk) 18:12, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Hey man im josh and Asilvering: Self-trout ah, rats, I didn't think of that. You're right of course. I just wanted to wish them well. Thanks for reverting. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 19:10, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
