User talk:Crystalstar2007
Hey, This is my new account since i forgot the password to Crystal Star2006 so now this is my new account! :) so feel free to ask me anything.
It appears my edit summary on the article was cut off. I was going to say—yes, R&B and tropical house are cited in the composition section, but only as influences on the album. You will find on Wikipedia we need the album or song directly described as that genre, and not merely as having "influences" of it. General consensus between music editors on Wikipedia at this time appears to be that for example, saying a song has "tropical house influences" is not the same as saying it is tropical house. The same applies for albums. Ss112 19:03, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
Ballad is not a genre
[edit]Also, please don't change genres without sourcing them or, if they have been debated in the past, gaining consensus on the talk page. Thanks. Ss112 03:19, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Ss112: I'm sorry i wasn't attending to change it i just knew that it wasn't the correct genre. And i also didn't actually know that ballad wasn't a genre but now i know that it's just a type of music. Crystalstar2007 (talk) 04:27, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
The stuff you added
[edit]Hi. Looking at your edits to Power (Little Mix song), there are a number of issues.
- The sections are currently all in the wrong order. What Makes You Beautiful is a good example of an article of this type, and you should use a similar section order.
- You added the wrong key; "Power" is not in E-flat minor (I'm at a loss as to where you got that from). The sheet music shows one sharp at the left of each stave, so it's in G major / E minor. (The website also occasionally uses a different key to the original song in its sheet music, so you have to watch out for that.)
- Please avoid using random websites as sources for reviews; well-known sources which are generally reliable are preferred. Practically anyone can make their own website now. If in doubt, ask (or search the archives) at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard.
- You're making a lot of grammatical mistakes, such as unnecessarily splitting sentences (e.g. first three sentences in § Composition) and under-utilizing hyphens (e.g. "hippie inspired" should be "hippie-inspired").
Also, if you've had multiple accounts before which you haven't disclosed, you might want to look at that standard offer thing at some point. Jc86035 (talk) 17:15, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
@Jc86035: Ok thank you i wasn't really sure about the sheet music one, I just thought it would be good to add it in, I am still trying to learn with my good contributes to Wikipedia. So it might take some time but thank you for telling me. Crystalstar2007 (talk) 21:59, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
