Conservation status

[edit]

Hi There. I noticed that you have included an IUCN conservation status in the taxoboxes of several species, e.g. Adromischus filicaulis and Adromischus bicolor. However, as far as I can tell, the species have not been assessed by the IUCN, and you provide no citation for this status. Could you clarify? --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 14:06, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, thank you for writing. I apologize for this mixup, I'm having troubles understanding how to use this source: http://redlist.sanbi.org/genus.php?genus=3831 in the speciesbox (is taxobox embedded in speciesbox?). I also can't figure out how to make the chart for the status show up. Thanks again! Crystal Buchanan Falck (talk) 15:53, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see. Unlike IUCN and a couple of others, SANBI status isn't natively supported by the box, one has to write it out. I would suggest using this:
| status = Least concern ([[South African National Biodiversity Institute|SANBI]])<ref> insert relevant SANBI reference here </ref>
and leave status_system empty. You won't be getting the status axis/chart for non-supported systems. Cheers --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 16:48, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much Elmidae! I will fix previous pages and use this moving forward. Thanks especially for including the exact code, I wouldn't have been able to come up with that. Crystal Buchanan Falck (talk) 12:30, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
