Do you plan on creating a "List of sauropodomorph type specimens"?
[edit]Loved your work on the ornithopod and theropod type lists. Do you think you'll create a list for sauropodomorph types in the future? Miracusaurs (talk) 09:39, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, I plan on creating a list for sauropodomorph types at some point in the future. However, my plan is to first revise and update the pre-existing lists for theropods, marginocephalians, and thyreophorans. CryolophosaurusEllioti (talk) 02:05, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Not sure how busy you are outside of wikipedia, but I'm a sucker for menial busy work, and I'd like to help with the various lists of holotype specimens. Not sure which ones, if any, you are actively working on right now, but I'd like to help finish them, but I don't wanna step on your toes if you've got major works in progress. Lemme know your thoughts and if you'd like the help! --A Cynical Idealist (talk) 10:46, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
- I've been a bit busy with college, but I'm hoping to get more work done on the theropod type list this summer. Would you by any chance be interested in assisting with one of the other clades? CryolophosaurusEllioti (talk) 00:35, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- If you check my sandbox, you'll see I've gotten the first half of the alphabet done for the marginocephalians. Unfortunately the letters "P" and "T" are pretty bulky among marginocephalians, so the second half will probably take a bit longer, but I could foresee myself finishing the draft within the next week or so. I've formatted the table a bit more compactly, but it contains all the same information as the format on the ornithopods page. I was hoping to adapt the format I've used across the list pages because it fits a desktop monitor a bit better, but I didn't want to do that unilaterally since it might be considered vandalism.--A Cynical Idealist (talk) 11:24, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- That format looks great, and I definitely think breaking everything down alphabetically was a great choice. In all honesty. I've just been working with what was already there for the ornithopods and theropods, but I think this new format makes much more sense. CryolophosaurusEllioti (talk) 18:40, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- I've finished the maginocephalians and thyreophorans. There's still work to be done on the pages; I didn't include paratypes when I drafted the marginocephalian page and those will need to be added. I plan on using the preamble on the marginocephalian page as a template for doing the rest of them. I'm slowly working on sauropodomorphs right now and I plan to do either mosasaurs or plesiosaurs next. --A Cynical Idealist (talk) 14:25, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you so much. I think the preamble is a great addition. I'll try to work on theropods more at some point in the next few days, including revising it to meet the new format. CryolophosaurusEllioti (talk) 18:27, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Apologies for the rather long delay, but I am working on reformatting and updating the theropod type specimen list on a new sandbox page. At the moment, I think my plan is to focus on valid taxa first and then add in the synonyms and nomina dubia later CryolophosaurusEllioti (talk) 01:30, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- I have that approach as well. I have a whole list of invalid/dubious taxa that need to be added to each list, but the valid ones are my current priority. I'm switching between reformatting the ornithopods article and writing the new one for sauropodomorphs. It's a slog, but we'll get it done. --A Cynical Idealist (talk) 04:00, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- If you want any assistance with the sauropodomorphs, feel free to let me know CryolophosaurusEllioti (talk) 04:08, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- Will do, thank you! I'm still going strong right now and I'm just about half way done. I've done about 250 out of around 500 species and still making good time. I estimate I'll be submitting the article for review by the end of September, if not sooner unless I hit a brick wall and have to take some time off. --A Cynical Idealist (talk) 05:17, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
