Weegie fallout

Hello, and thanks also for your efforts in trying to deal with our anonymous friend. I don't think I've ever encountered a bigger pest in over ten years on Wikipedia! I have removed the speedy delete tag from your article, from a quick read I would think there is some notability asserted. It certainly doesn't meet the criteria for speedy, anyway. Keep up the good work! Jellyman (talk) 14:59, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Update: They've tagged it for speedy deletion again, which I've once again reverted. Might be a good idea for you to alert some other editors who can keep an eye on this article, and anything else you've contributed to as well... Jellyman (talk) 16:20, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi there Crowsus, from Portugal,

even though I wrote a wrong number in my summary when reverting you in this player's article, it's not that relevant. If he had played one minute in one round but the final of the Copa del Rey, he should have the honour noted (but he did not play THREE games in the tournament like I said, he played SEVEN, even better). In the 2015 Supercopa de España he did not play once, so there we agree that he should not have the accolade listed.

Happy editing, happy 2017! --193.137.135.2 (talk) 11:47, 29 December 2016 (UTC)

OK my bad then sorry, in Scotland they are quite harsh about it, the tradition is normally that if a player doesn't get a medal (= in the final match squad), the honour is not listed. I think that is a harsh rule if the player has contributed earlier in the run, so I am happy to hear that I got it wrong and he can officially have the credit (even for a defeat). PS you should maybe get a user account? It doesn't have to have much personal information on it. Just because I know you look after a lot of pages! All the best Crowsus (talk) 12

This is my IP where I edit from work, and this one (please see here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/85.242.133.151) at home. Both are static, so I am easily "caught". I used to have an account, but had it vanished because I was fed up overall (started editing ten years ago already), only to return again. --193.137.135.2 (talk) 13:45, 29 December 2016 (UTC)

  • Yeray Álvarez: overall it was a very good work on your part, but like i state in the summaries, no need to refer to his youth progress twice, once is quite enough. I have provided a reference for your claims.

Cheers --85.242.133.151 (talk) 15:59, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Barcelona "Juvenil"

Hello. FC Barcelona Juvenil A is not the young academy of FC Barcelona, but only one category, for players of 18 and 19 years. So in the young career we only use "Barcelona". Grateful.

Please, only Barcelona in young career. Josepolivares User talk:Josepolivares 12 January 2017 (UTC)
no, that doesn't make sense. I see your point about the overall youth career but then there should be another article to represent the entire academy. Many other teams and countries use this style of link in the infobox when their academy has a page. However if the team the player played for in a specific season was Juvenil A, that should be where the link goes.Crowsus (talk) 12:18, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Transfermarkt

Most Transfermark'ts content is user-generated, meaning that not only is it unreliable, but far too easy to abuse for sneaky vandalism. A few years back, User:Zombie433 was banned for, among other things, adding false information to transfermarkt so that he could later add it to Wikipedia. That paired with their very prolific editing (I'm still occasionally finding traces of their handiwork some seven years later), demonstrated just how problematic this website could be, so the WikiProject Football decided to disallow the use of this website altogether. As a result, despite your claim to the contrary it is not used. If you take a look at this, you'll see that despite 3000+ links to transfermarkt, none of them are in the article namespace. I hope that clarifies things. Sir Sputnik (talk) 16:58, 9 February 2017 (UTC)

OK, thanks for the reply and I understand the problem so won't add it again Crowsus (talk) 17:01, 9 February 2017 (UTC)

You're right, the warning was OTT, sorry. GiantSnowman 16:04, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

Just remove the above rather than merge their is nothing of worth on it that is not already covered. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Apmccarthy01 (talkcontribs) 20:25, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

@Apmccarthy01: Yeah I do agree with you, but having added the merge notice, out of politeness it would be better to wait the month for any discussion to finish before it gets done. I am watching the page and you probably are too, so any edits in the meantime can be requested to be added to the other article instead (unless crap of course). It would be more useful to add your comment to the discussion section itself, as that would help to provide evidence that folk like yourself are in favour of the merge/deletion. Cheers! Crowsus (talk) 21:07, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

Congratulations...

...on improving the biographies of several Athletic Bilbao players. I know my summaries when performing some tidying up here and there seem a bit exaggerated, but that was never my intention, I know you try your "bestest", as do I.

Keep up the good work, from Portugal, have a nice week --85.242.133.151 (talk) 20:54, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

Obrigado, I know you want all the articles to be as good as possible and sometimes what I am adding is not too amazing in terms of format and sourcing, so thank you for keeping it right. It is important that the site is reliable and easy to read, otherwise it loses credibility, and then what are we doing spending our time editing if people don't trust the articles? So your diligence is commendable. I am now getting used to the excited edit summaries, the changes you are making in them are always positive and correct! Crowsus (talk) 21:25, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

RE: 2016-17 Osasuna Season

To answer your question, I'm not kidding about the word "Kike". It's an offensive term aimed at Jewish people, and the wikilink you set up leads right to that same term. I seriously doubt this is a "common spanish nickname" either. It's best to leave that out, per BRD. I'll start a discussion on that page and we'll see what's decided via concensus. К Ф Ƽ Ħ 18:23, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

Just in case you want to contribute , I just opened this dicsussion on the 2016-17 Osasuna Season talk page. By the way, I though your edit summary about me drinking was funny, since I've been sober since 1989  :) К Ф Ƽ Ħ 18:39, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

Scotland wartime international apps

Hello. I've undone a couple of your edits, because you seem to have copied the reference from somewhere else without checking that it actually did verify what you wanted it to; it didn't. There are more that need fixing. I don't doubt that the players concerned did play in wartime internationals, but you do need to check the sources yourself, set the |accessdate= to when you did so, and use the correct source(s) for each player. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 11:40, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

Cao - Reply

Probably my bad again, my question was regarding a football article, sure, but it was not a technical question so it was best placed in a forum or akin. Yes, your reasoning is quite correct (the last lines, of course no one in Portugal is going to lead that investigation, better yet, that COMPLAINT, it is confirmed player was born in 1968).

Thanks, have a cool Saturday (and i'll have a look in the Portuguese web tomorrow or something, i'll let you know if i find an interesting article)! --85.242.133.151 (talk) 16:38, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

  • I browsed the Portuguese web, found nothing.

Spanish footballer bios

hen i have time, i will trim the bios of Juan José Valencia, José Ángel Rojo and José María Amorrortu, next to no refs and too much info for starters. Also, i profit from the chance to say i also worked on José Francisco Rojo and that a runner-up position is not an honour in a domestic league, only in cups and international competitions, OK?

Nice work on finding about Rojo's brother, I cover Spanish football extensively and did not know about this. Attentively --85.242.133.151 (talk) 16:59, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

  • No, i don't doubt everything you wrote is true, but i am going to have a look in those articles (plus the two you now suggested). Many things are definitely not sourced, as in José Mari's case "He has stated that the move had been close to completion the previous year, but his serious injury led to its delay". --85.242.133.151 (talk) 21:14, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

Glad you liked Víctor Unamuno :) About your question, yes he should get the honour in spite of only three appearances (one would suffice, by the way, only country i know of where a minimum of matches is required for you to get a winners' medal is England). Happy Saturday, i am now off to see what i can do to improve those five Athletic players. --85.242.133.151 (talk) 15:09, 8 April 2017 (UTC)

  • First one down, José Ángel Rojo, took me nearly two hours (of course, no one asked/forced me), lots of trimming down: 1 - one appearance that was a heavy defeat against Burgos (no ref, no scoreline, etc); 2 - age of brother's breakthrough in first team, does not belong in this article but in the other one; 3 - he DID NOT PLAY in the 1976/77 Copa final, so why mention it? 4 - last but not least, please, the correct dashes for match results and infoboxes is "–", not "-".

Attentively --85.242.133.151 (talk) 18:50, 8 April 2017 (UTC)

I have composed AGAIN, for example in José Ángel Rojo: 1 - the infobox can NEVER start with the club to where a player is loaned OK? 2 - if the sub-section is called ATHLETIC, no need to say "he was promoted to the Athletic first team", "to the first team" suffices. Three to go (José Mari, Valencia and Etxeberria). --85.242.133.151 (talk) 17:32, 9 April 2017 (UTC)

  • I. Etxeberria significantly trimmed down (i.e. what Valencia did or not does not belong in Imanol's article other than the brief mention one overtook the other as starter). --85.242.133.151 (talk) 22:21, 9 April 2017 (UTC)

In my place of work, I will now work on Valencia and José Mari (just the text, when I get home I will add the refs I can find). I also apologize for removing the info you added in Iñaki Lafuente - I was just of the opinion there seemed to be too much of the "he overtook X then battled with Y", but classic WP:OWNERSHIP on my part nonetheless. --193.137.135.2 (talk) 08:30, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

On second thoughts, i'll get to it when I get home. --193.137.135.2 (talk) 10:33, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Major cleanup of José Mari, including: 1 - even (EVEN) if the other José Mari gets an article someday, it's of zero encyclopedical relevance to say he joined a club where another guy had his sporting name; 2 - what is the relation between José Mari and Vlada Stošić? None, so it does not belong here. --85.242.133.151 (talk) 20:23, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

  • I should DEFINITELY learn to read stuff better, i did not read the boxes well and failed to see J. Mari and Stošić DID PLAY together (I could also haven taken the time to read the source you added)! Reinstated your bit about that, also significantly improved Pedro María Zabalza if you want to have a look. Apologies are in order, hopefully you'll accept them. --85.242.133.151 (talk) 02:57, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

I also thank you for your assistance at Jesús María Lacruz, i just feel there was too much clatter in the first paragraph, with saying he was a youth product of Osasuna it's enough. --85.242.133.151 (talk) 03:03, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

Well spotted mate, I have already written the word I originally wanted ("half" not "game"). The reversion? That's the danger of editing anon and triggering some sort of technical response (for example, if you write stuff like "sack" in your summaries to explain what you have just added to storyline, they will add a note that reads "Possible BLP vandalism" or something).

Enjoy your weekend, cheers --193.137.135.2 (talk) 10:59, 28 April 2017 (UTC)

If you look at precisely this article, a "funny" situation: a guy named User:Sandman888 made the most mind-boggling storylines, no doubt using Google Translator on the Spanish version of the articles (he too operated almost exclusively on Athletic Bilbao players) which resulted in, for example, things like Real Sociedad being translated to ROYAL SOCIETY!!

When I questioned him on the matter, he: 1 - knew nothing of what I was talking about (polite replies always, mind you) even though it was obvious he had created the bits (look at Eneko Arieta to see what he was called before I stepped in, for example https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Eneko_Arieta&diff=703976253&oldid=673580443); 2 - always sent those polite responses in a very good if not perfect English... Go figure!

Attentively --85.242.133.151 (talk) 16:22, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

  • Took me a while to spot your reply because you sent it to my work place :( No mate i don't disagree when you DIY, your work is very very good overall, I just feel it is a tad overdetailed (now, of course, it's your turn to say you don't agree with this opinion of mine) --85.242.133.151 (talk) 18:34, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

Can we get some input in resolving an edit dispute?

Hello Crowsus. I am hoping that you can lend some assistance. Me and user GiantSnowman need assistance in resolving an edit dispute concerning the kit section that was in the Nigerian national football team article. He removed it citing WP:NOTGALLERY. I disagree with his interpretation and I have shared my reasons on the talk page at WikiProject Football. We request the input of members of this project in order to resolve this issue. Your assistance would be appreciated if you have the time. Thanks! unak1978 16:29, 29 April 2017 (UTC)

Hibernian FC

Hi there,

I hope you are well and also hope you may be able to help with something please on the Hibs page? I ask since I see you made a recently on that page recently.

I made some edits yesterday that were all intended constructively. They just seem to get a blanket undo response by an another editor with minimal (near zero) explanation of why undoing the edits is the best course of action. I of course accept that any edits I make can be improved upon for a variety of reasons. I genuinely struggle to see though how the edits I made:-

  • could not be seen as constructive
  • require that the best response is for them to be undone

If you could please take a look and bring some calm sanity and constructive input to this it would be appreciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.236.149.171 (talk) 15:15, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi Crowsus. Firstly, I'd like to say thankyou for improving so many Junior football related articles. Some excellent content added! I was looking the other day at the Scottish Junior international side section and noticed you added Hughie to the list of dual cap-winners. I was thinking of adding a short bit of prose to the beginning of this section so was looking for a bit more info and I can't find any record of this game vs Ireland. It doesn't appear in the Scotland Juniors spreadsheet on the SFHA site, nor is Gallacher listed as one of Bellshill's capped players in the Juniors Centenary book. I have a feeling this was maybe a League international or some more minor representative game and the QoS site has made a mistake. Let me know what you think. All the best. Sgt Elvan (talk) 15:56, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

It's certainly not my intention to jump down the throat of good editors! Obviously with the WP:OR policy, we're at the mercy of our sources, or often in the case of Junior content, single source. I've been caught out before in this very article as I originally had Danny McGrain on the list as he is specifically referred to in the Juniors Centenary Book. It was only after finding a secondary source that it turned out the Junior cap was actually a different player of the same name. Keep up the good work! Sgt Elvan (talk) 14:59, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

Athletic bio drafts

@Quite A Character: Could you please have a look at the drafts below and tell me what you think (and edit as required), I do think it's more accurate than what's on the the articles at present...

[removed content so refs no longer displayed]

(only noticed this thread now)Both articles seem quite well as they are now, no need for extra information if that is in fact what you are asking. Speaking of Athletic Bilbao/Basque guys, just cleaned up Gorka Iraizoz (1 - no need to mention Gernika in storyline, lowly club and unassuming spell; 2 - no need to state age when he signed for Espanyol; 3 - definitely no need to mention games where he DID NOT play (the 2015 Spanish Cup final), later will do the same to Gaizka Mendieta).

Tommy Coyne junior

Thanks for flagging up the discussion. Having originally PRODed the article, I decided not to pursue the issue when the PROD was removed by the article creator. The argument they used for doing so made no sense, really; to be honest, it was more the fact that they are a generally useful contributor on Dumbarton-related stuff that swayed me towards leaving their article alone! But now that someone else has raised the issue, I've supported deletion. Jellyman (talk)

Junior Cup Finals

Hi Crowsus! Thanks for your kind words.... I really hoped you weren't thinking that I was encroaching on, or hijacking, your good work!

It was actually my error to overlook Fauldhouse United in the 'Winners' section - as it was me who initially decided to start the 'Club Performance' table on that page!

I did a copy-and-paste from the 'Club Performance' table, onto an Excel Spreadsheet, followed by a SUM of each column. Happily, it's now 131 winners and 130* runners-up, (*due to the Petershill 'non-final'!).

Really, I must stop being so 'anal' about things like this! One last 'itch' for me on this page - I'll look at it at the weekend... very tempted to organize the teams in order of wins and runners-up? As in, a club with 3 wins and 2 runners-up places, would be positioned above a team with 3 wins and 1 runner-up place.

Or, should I just leave it?! Woodlandscaley (talk) 18:14, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

Bits and pieces

Only saw/read your COMPLETE reply almost a week later, really gotta have my eyes checked... Let's go bit by bit:

1 - previews, in Enric Saborit you were looking "...for more constructive criticism" and in this case you think article should be TRIMMED and not AUGMENTED? First of all i did not criticize you in any way, you were not the creator of the article and you have not done much writing therein, how could have you incurred in any wrong? And if his mother is not the one from the Basque Country, who is (someone has to be because he was born outside of the region, isn't that the Athletic core criteria? Found this ref, maybe it will be of use http://www.elcorreo.com/vizcaya/20080226/deportes/athletic/mataro-bilbao-20080226.html)? The father? I admit i was the one to write that "maternal bit" (please see here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Enric_Saborit&diff=next&oldid=570874904), don't know where i read it and when, but if you say it's a lie then i believe you. Easily corrected once you spot the mistake(s), no?

So far, article seems to have all the main events: 1 - origin/background; 2 - started playing as a senior with whom; 3 - senior debut; 4 - loans; 5 - European competition debut and akin, what exactly do you want to remove because i can't see it? Regarding Aymeric Laporte, maybe a small intro according to some "thinkers" (I, for one, don't like intros all that much, some are humungous and make you feel tired to read the proper storyline) but the rest of the article is quite complete (aged 23, almost 30 refs, another thing i hate, articles with 200 refs or in that vicinity, but that's just my opinion, nobody died and made me king thus far).

Mr. Iraizoz, just added four more refs to his piece, two for his background and two for his important role in the UEFA Cup campaign with Espanyol. I stand pat regarding what i said about Gernika, always been (thus far, one never knows) an amateur club, Athletic bought him because their recruiting base is quite narrow, and what you read in other wikis (from what i browsed it was in the Catalan, and i seize the opportunity to say that i think the Spanish wikipedia has appalling articles for many many top flight players, even though they have provided me with several refs for this version in which i/we work, as was the case now with Iraizoz), if not ref'd, is of zero relevance.

Attentively, sorry for the tardy reply --Quite A Character (talk) 00:55, 27 June 2017 (UTC)

I have come to the rescue again in Yeray, Saborit and (tomorrow, if need be) Laporte. I fail to see why i did not merit a reply to the original message seen above in days, but if i was discourteous or akin please accept my apologies, never my intention. --Quite A Character (talk) 20:50, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

More compromise on Yeray regarding his match total for the season (that way, we won't have to repeat it in different parts of the paragraph). I really thought the kid was cured, what a shame :( --Quite A Character (talk) 13:25, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

  • Maybe you'll like this guy (another user created it, i just added the storyline today, as well as WP :)) Another somewhat important guy for Athletic, and like Josu Urrutia on both ends of the court!

Help, if you please and if need be: i am not so sure of the level of English displayed (regarding this is an encyclopedia, the standards, the standards man...) in the post-retirement section, could you have a look if it's not too much trouble? Cheers, thanks in advance --Quite A Character (talk) 00:22, 14 July 2017 (UTC)

  • Thanks, as always! My main "objections" in Joseba Etxeberria: 1 - irrelevant that he played in the 2009 Copa del Rey Final, did nothing relevant and his team lost; 2 - scored his last goal for Bilbao 14 years after his first, irrelevant unless it was EXACTLY 14 years to the day, it was not.

Happy weekend --Quite A Character (talk) 21:23, 14 July 2017 (UTC)

  • Maybe not the "correctest" of terms, but I just felt there were too much fields in that ref (speaking about that Antiguoko source, I have thus added it to all the players that you missed and that already have a WP article), no need for publisher AND work/newspaper in my opinion, only one of the two; regarding your doubt, which I have read better now, nope I never added that work field that you speak of, and my "beef had nothing to do with the insertion of capitals, I know they came (as most do) with the original title, a normal human mistake to retrieve them as such my kind fellow user.

Sorry for any inconvenience, take care --Quite A Character (talk) 12:20, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

No worries mate. Your edits are generally (I wouldn't say always because we're all humans) correct, so if you're adding it I believe you 100%. I really don't remember where I found out about his older brother, so I can't really assure the fact (thing that you've done right now, thank you :))

Arsenal Reserves

HI Crowsus, I agree that Arsenal F.C. Reserves and Arsenal F.C. Academy should be merged. The two squads interlink and there isn't a lot of history on both pages. I have put the current squad on the Reserves page with all their numbers. Also, are you going to merge them together? Hemf11 (talk) 09:55, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

Bits and pieces

Hi there Crowsus, all well?

great comeback from the lads, from 0-2 down in Athens (https://futbol.as.com/futbol/2017/08/17/uefa/1502960451_751841.html)! About Aduriz, well... enough said i wager ;)

Speaking about Athletic, do you remember (or even heard about) this incident between Ronaldo and Carlos Gurpegui (please see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yvmxzm6Ew40; and the YouTube comments, if you read Spanish well as i assume? Pieces of human garbage, defending what has no possible defense and insulting the referee!)? Another disgusting behaviour from my countryman, waves for penalty when ball hit his opponent BELOW THE KNEE (!!), then assaults him (a scratch, alright, but assault nonetheless) and after being fairly ejected is left with his perennial "i have done nothing, i am a victim of persecution because i am rich, handsome and a hell of a player - and might i add, Portuguese because i live/work in Spain" face.

In the first leg of the 2017 Supercopa de España, more of the same of course. Kind regards, from Portugal --Quite A Character (talk) 22:08, 17 August 2017 (UTC)

Portuguese greetings! There does not seem to be a way ("the" way) to do it regarding guidelines, but i always did it like this: URL/TITLE/TRANS_TITLE (if needed)/PUBLISHER (or NEWSPAPER, i only use these two, some folks seem to want it "complicated" and use both at the same time, don't understand the need for it)/LANGUAGE (if needed)/DATE/ACCESSDATE.

So, in other words, don't worry if you don't get this order because it's not mandatory, and also don't be surprised if i change it because i don't seem to have better things to do with my time than being picky :) Cheers, keep safe --Quite A Character (talk) 20:56, 22 August 2017 (UTC)

Teamwork (?)

Hi there Crow,

please have a look at this message (see here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:MYS77#Iosu_Iglesias), maybe you'll have an additional saying on the matter?

Cheers, thanks in advance --Quite A Character (talk) 22:53, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

A reliable Spanish user (in fact, seems he is an important collaborator at BDFUTBOL.com) just wrote to me now, i added my (final) reasonings to MYS77's page. Have a nice weekend and all that, from Portugal --Quite A Character (talk) 07:00, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

Kareem Kazeem: not sure if that's what you meant in your summary, but if a player has only been signed to contract and never appears in the LEAGUE (even if he/she racks dozens of appearances in the cup competitions, almost impossible but it could happen) they should not be given a league category.

Many thanks for your help, continue the great work --Quite A Character (talk) 15:15, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Andrew McCowie

Hello. My motivation at McCowie was to clean up the nonsense that had been added to it recently, I know nothing about him and even less about Scottish local geography. There are reliable sources for both Cambuslang and Old Monkland, I don't know which is right, or whether one is a subset/more precise version of the other: but on likely accuracy of sources, I'd place Stuart Basson at Chesterfield above any of the others, and he gives Old Monkland. Incidentally, there's no need to pipe inside forward to whatever it redirects to at the moment: WP:NOTBROKEN advises us not to. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 19:57, 21 October 2017 (UTC)

Eizmendi brothers (and others)

Hey there, how's it going?

regarding the tense i tend to use in the PERSONAL LIFE section (mind you, i do it only in unassuming players that don't get almost any attention and "will" be forgotten as time goes by), i am only "preparing" the articles for when the given player(s) does(do) retire(s), i know it's not a 100% correct approach, but i can't help myself with that reasoning.

Cheers, sorry for any inconvenience --Quite A Character (talk) 17:49, 4 November 2017 (UTC)

Liga Española de Fútbol

Hi, I've seen your edit about references at El Viejo Clásico. So complicated about the "Liga Española," as it was very controversial and was not finished. Anyway, it is a competition and a meeting, and imo it would be added/noted. And of course, mentioned in the "History" section. Asturkian (talk) 16:07, 14 November 2017 (UTC)

Beechwood Park

I don't want this to turn into an edit war, but the stuff you're adding to the article really isn't appropriate for an article – it would perhaps be appropriate for a DAB page, but that's not what this is. If you're insistent that readers may go there looking for the ground of the other clubs, then what's needed is add a hatnote with something along the lines of This article is about the Leith Athletic ground. For other grounds of the same name, see the articles on Auchinleck Talbot, Lochee Harp, Strathclyde and Thistle. Happy to have the issue raised at WT:FOOTY if you still think the info should be included in the article itself. Cheer, Number 57 00:31, 19 November 2017 (UTC)

Actually, I've just realised there is a disambiguation page so no-one would end up at Beechwood Park, Leith if they were aiming for the other clubs' grounds. However, I have added them to the main DAB page at Beechwood Park. Number 57 19:32, 19 November 2017 (UTC)

Arveladze fee

I'm normally reluctant to delete stuff out of Wikipedia (unless it's obvious vandalism), but the claimed fee of £8.5m for Arveladze was just utter nonsense. Hopefully nobody will be daft enough to add it back in! :) ShugSty (talk) 18:38, 21 November 2017 (UTC)

Hiya Crowsus, I don't know if you've tried WP:Twinkle or not, but I have it installed, it's very helpful with better rollback features, you can report pages to xfd, report IPs or bad users to arv, request page protections, you might find it helpful. Hi there Crow, how's it going?

Nope, it left me angry still, but maybe that's because I have no sense of humour :) LOL, paragraph much that "contribution" (and I'd like to know - sourced or not sourced - what did Valverde eat for breakfast/dinner and when did he and his players went to the loo during that tour!)?

Reverted of course, hopefully you and WP won't think ill of me for that action ;) Continue the great work (and pay no attention to my hysterical summaries, just a poor man on an eternal rampage...), cheers --Quite A Character (talk) 11:25, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

  • Gorka Elustondo: don't fret, i am in no way suggesting you support hatred in sports, i just hate (LOL, contradicting myself!) that word in sports, in Real Sociedad and Iñigo Martínez's case all other 19 teams in La Liga are their rivals because they all fight for three points every weekend/match, not just Athletic. Players are not traitors when they sign with a neighbouring (or another reason, Real Madrid and Barcelona for example, remember this - in case you have ever heard of it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1rw2YUFL7s "Beautiful"... Believe me, if i was a pro footballer i would LOVE to play behind closed doors ALWAYS) club, it's their WORK!

About the Luís Figo incident mentioned above, i don't know if it appears in the video i sent you (could not be bothered to view this ordeal again), but i think in that match someone held a banner that said "Figo, we wish to see you soon like Ferenc Puskás (who was very ill in hospital at that time)". In a video i saw in YouTube some months ago, Hristo Stoichkov told Figo to his face (at least let's give the lad that, did not resort to the social media for that) that he still thinks he's a traitor. Nothing but pieces of garbage, just my opinion.

Cheers, sorry for any misunderstanding created (i also feel you did not understand this mention i made to overlinking, not the case of a repeated link in Elustondo's case, but overlapping links (one link after another without any words in between, that also constitutes overlinking per WP guidelines, i think this one is called WP:SEAOFBLUE) --Quite A Character (talk) 01:36, 2 February 2018 (UTC)

Juve-Fiorentina

Hey thanks for the contributions. For the Italian rivalry pages at Template:Italian football derbies, we didn't link the competitions in the results list. I'm not saying it wouldn't be good to have them, but obviously it will take some tedious work. I'm going to add all the rest of the matches in the next couple days, but without the links. If you want when I'm done, you can add them in to stay consistent with this page, at least. After I'll add a table of statistics. If you'd want, it would be good to put the players list in a table. After this I'll probably move the page into mainspace myself. Thanks. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 22:08, 4 March 2018 (UTC)

DYK for Aberdeen F.C.–Rangers F.C. rivalry

On 9 March 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Aberdeen F.C.–Rangers F.C. rivalry, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that between 1992 and 2016, Scottish football club Aberdeen did not win a single match at Ibrox Stadium, home of their rivals, Rangers F.C.? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Aberdeen F.C.–Rangers F.C. rivalry. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Aberdeen F.C.–Rangers F.C. rivalry), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Inigo Martinez

Hi, I hope you can help me with this issue. He was supposed to be suspended on matchday 36 (vs Betis), after receiving 5th yellow card against Sociedad (matchday 35), but he appeared in the starting lineup. I checked his disciplinary record and saw one of his yellow cards had disappeared (matchday 30 against Celta). Since you seem to understand Spanish and watch Spanish football closely, hopefully you could find me an article and/or announcement, in English or Spanish, which explains this situation. Maybe that yellow card was taken back by officials, but I (maybe other people as well) knew nothing until now. Thanks :) Centaur271188 (talk) 06:13, 8 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi, Stop renaming names!!! Those stadiums aren't finished and we don't know if the term is respected. Cristina neaguUser talk:Cristina neagu 06:48, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

Ok, I'm happy that we finally managed to remove the honours, but I see that you added the history back. That doesn't make sense, since the club has only existed for one year. FCSB is the one considered to be the continuation of the club who made that history.8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 20:35, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

Great work, I believe it is fine now. The situation is explained in detail, in a subjective way. Maybe you could check FCSB's page and update some of the stuff from the history and the intro as well, if you wish. Many thanks, and BTW, I hope User TPTB will leave the page as it is from now!8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 10:57, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
