- Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or sock puppetry.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Thank you Kautilya3 for these words. Will keep in mind. Crawford88 (talk) 07:19, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Kautilya3. Your recent edit to the page Being Different appears to have added incorrect information, so I have removed it for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 06:41, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Kautilya3:, Are Makarand Paranjape and Marakand R. Paranjape different persons? I thought they are same.
- I think "Marakand" was a typo. I fixed it now. - Kautilya3 (talk) 07:33, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Romila Thapar. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges. Thank you. ARBIPA notification
Please carefully read this information:
The Arbitration Committee has authorised discretionary sanctions to be used for pages regarding India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic which you have edited. The Committee's decision is here.
Discretionary sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimize disruption to controversial topics. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Before continuing to edit this topic, please familiarise yourself with the discretionary sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions. Please note that you are responsible for mastering all the Wikipedia policies and editing according to them. Failure to do so can invite sanctions. - Kautilya3 (talk) 09:53, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
- Kautilya3, can you please tell me why am I getting this notification? Crawford88 (talk) 05:31, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Crawford88, everybody editing India, Pakistan, Afghanistan topics eventually gets this notification. But if you show a tendency to ignore policies, you get it sooner. As long as you read and follow all policies you are referred to, you will be fine. - Kautilya3 (talk) 08:21, 27 October 2015 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Joshua Jonathan. I noticed that you recently removed some sourced content from Rajiv Malhotra without an accurate edit summary. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I have restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Wikipedia and copyright
Hello Crawford88, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to FBR-600 has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 15:00, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
Indigenous Aryans
Dear Crawfird88, I would strongly urge you to stay away from starting contentious discussions about Indigenous Aryans. The matter was settled by an RfC after extensive discussion, and any attempt to repeat it will be considered disruptive and it will be sanctionable under ARBIPA. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 17:05, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
Wiktionary
I have removed this. Wiktionary is not a reliable source. - Sitush (talk) 11:31, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
"Ashoka" is the commonly used name in English and should not be piped
Most people won't recognise your formulation, so please don't change this again. Thanks. Doug Weller talk 09:31, 24 October 2016 (UTC)
ARBIPA sanctions reminder
The status of Indigenous Aryans theory has been decided after extensive discussion and an RfC. We are not going to revisit it again. If you start pushing it all over again, I will be likely to ask for ARBIPA sanctions against you. Please calm down and read the scholarly sources that have been cited and extensively discussed. Wikipedia is not a blog site or a debating forum. It describes what the reliable sources say about a topic. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 10:01, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
November 2016
Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Vedic-Puranic chronology, did not appear constructive and has been undone. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, Crawford88. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Template: Rajiv Malhotra
Hello, Crawford88. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Template: Rajiv Malhotra".
In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. 1989 (talk) 02:32, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Fuller explanation later when I have time. Please don't reinstate it as its inclusion was a policy violation. Doug Weller talk 05:58, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Doug Weller: For now, I won't. Also I would have appreciated had you posted this on the article's talk page rather than here.
- I didn't see that you'd posted to the talk page - I was using my iPad on my exercise bike and thought it courteous to give a brief explanation on top of my edit summary, which I assumed you'd read. Doug Weller talk 08:33, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Shabarimala Sannidhanam.jpeg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ytoyoda (talk) 17:03, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
