I've recently created a page but it's now going to be speedy deletion. May I know why this is a genuine institute in srilanka. Content I've used is original about our institute therefore could you please help me lift this stipulation from this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Institute_of_Certified_Public_Accountants_of_Sri_Lanka
- Please look again at the explanations on this page. The answer to your question is in those explanations. You want to pay special attention to the explanations in the Wikipedia editing guideline about CONFLICT OF INTEREST (click on this link). – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 21:58, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

On the page reason says violation of copy writes I've not copied text from any where ? We think our profile page should be same as in our website? Could you please give some bullet points to rectify this ? We really need this page }}
Yes, of course, if you think it might help! Here are your "bullet points":
- Your "profile page" must read like an article in an encyclopedia,
- The article must be encyclopedic and an objective description of the subject of the article,
- The article cannot contain any text that is copied from the company's website, which would be a copyright violation,
- The article cannot be written by anyone who is in any way connected with the subject for two reasons:
- There would be the liklihood of a conflict of interest, and
- There would be the crucial question of notability. If the company is truly notable enough to be written about in an encyclopedia, then objective third parties would write about the company, and editors who are not in any way connected with the company would be able to use those objective third parties as reliable sources for the material in the article.
I'm very sorry, Cpasrilanka, but all these points are important, and some, like notability, no conflict of interest, and no copyright violations are particularly crucial. The inclusion of an article in an encyclopedia is, I'm afraid, never based upon the company's "need" to be in it. – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 23:40, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Icpa sri lanka requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - In addition to the copyright concern, there were two other problems with that article. Firstly, it did not give clear evidence that the organisation is significant enough to warrant an article about it in an encyclopaedia. Secondly, the article was written in terms which appeared to be promoting the organisation, rather than in a neutral, detached, way. In addition, if you have a personal connection to Icpa sri lanka, then you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject. Generally speaking, you should usually avoid writing on an organisation to which you have a close connection, as you may find it difficult to view the subject in the objective way that is needed in order to write about it from a neutral point of view. OK, Can I now create new user account and create the same page without any copy write violation as you explained above? and before publishing that page can I confirmed with you/or someone else ? if so, please mentioned details
- No. You may not create another account while this account is blocked, as this is regarded as block evasion. The block refers to the person, i.e. yourself, rather than the account. An optimist on the run! 08:08, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

- Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again.
- What can I do now?
If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you will probably not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
If you do intend to make useful contributions about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

Wikipedia accounts must be for individuals only, who are personally responsible for them, and accounts whose usernames are names of groups or organizations are not permitted. Also, Wikipedia is a project to build an encyclopedia: it is not a place for people or organizations to tell the world about themselves. The block notice above explains what you should do if you wish to be unblocked to change username, and you should read it carefully. Here are a few key questions:
- Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
- Do you understand conflict of interest?
- Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable?
You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. JohnCD (talk) 10:48, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

I've requested a username update from Wikipedia administrator. In the administrator instruction panel it says paste following code in the Administrator talk page ==Unblock request of Cpasrilanka == Hello Cpasrilanka. Cpasrilanka (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), whom you have blocked, is requesting to be unblocked. The request for unblock is on hold while waiting for a comment from you. Regards, Cpasrilanka (talk) 20:39, 18 March 2013 (UTC) therefore, I tried on the following page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Administrators but since my edit mode is blocked I couldn't update it. Could you let me know how can I do this ? }}
- My understanding is that when one is blocked, then one can only edit one's own user talk page and no other page. So, as it is explained above, you must ask to be unblocked on this page, your own talk page. If I may assume that you do intend to make useful contributions about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, you must do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
, just as it appears here, on your user talk page.
- Add the text
- These are the steps you must take. Just copy and paste the text highlighted above to this page, your talk page, below these words, and follow the easy instructions. – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 21:01, 18 March 2013 (UTC)
{{adminhelp|I'm sorry I've already done this process
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
I'm talking about next step. Because after I've done this there is special blue box appear in that it says above my explanation}}
- Yes, forgive me, I see it now. The user name you have decided upon, "FRM AT CPASRILANKA", still shows as a company name. It is apparently for "firm at cpasrilanka". Can you find a more general user name? perhaps a name that is more connected to you, yourself, rather than to a company? The name you have chosen still looks related to the company name on the page you have created. – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 21:18, 18 March 2013 (UTC)
- You also need to answer the three key questions I asked above. I will repeat them here:
- Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
- Do you understand conflict of interest?
- Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable?
- You also need to answer the three key questions I asked above. I will repeat them here:
- You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. JohnCD (talk) 22:13, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

Former username was related to page in Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Institute_of_Certified_Public_Accountants_of_Sri_Lanka that I've created. However it doesn't meet Wikipedia username policy therefore now I would like to rectify it.
Decline reason:
Please respond to the three bulletted questions that have been posed twice to you on this page. Although I'm glad you're willing to rectify the problem with your username, you will not be unblocked until it's clear you understand Wikipedia's relevant content policies. - Yunshui fixed the "unblock template that generates the blue "This blocked user is asking to be unblocked to request a change in username" message box - a pair of curly brackets was missing, preventing the message box from being displayed properly. The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Sri Lanka article was deleted as a copyright violation. An article on the institute should not consist of text copied from their website, but should summarize what reliable, independent sources such as newspapers say about them. Thus, while it might technically be possible to convince the Institute to release its website under a free license compatible with Wikipedia's CC-BY-SA 3.0 License (which allows re-use for any purpose, including commercial purposes), I don't think that's worth the effort. If you want to go that route, see WP:Requesting copyright permission. Huon (talk) 17:36, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

I'm sorry which template you've unblocked it ? Also my only concern is changing my username and removing the suspension from the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Institute_of_Certified_Public_Accountants_of_Sri_Lanka however, yet the both have not solved. If you deleted the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Institute_of_Certified_Public_Accountants_of_Sri_Lanka article page can I create new page for it without any copy writes violations ? and before publishing that page can I confirm that with you ? Could also elaborate about which curly brackets pair I've missed ? so I can rectify it.
- First, the curly brackets: As I said Yunshui already fixed it; this edit did it. It's the pair of curly brackets he added directly above his "I have fixed..." comment.
- Once your account is renamed, you can create a new article which is not a copyright violation and which is based on reliable, independent sources such as newspaper articles. See also WP:Your first article for advice on writing articles. You may also want to have a look at our guideline on conflicts of interest; while not outright forbidden, writing about a topic you're closely associated with is discouraged. I'd suggest using the Article Wizard; that way the draft can be submitted for a review by experienced editors before it goes live. Huon (talk) 14:30, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:The Institute of Certified Public Accountants organization logo.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:The Institute of Certified Public Accountants organization logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:59, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
