Deleted article - Inspection 12
Hey, I thought it was pretty weird that a band this noteworthy would be deleted. Maybe I'm not reading it right, but it looks like it was because noone was around to back the article up with any claims of notability. Looking at the notability criteria for musicians and ensembles,
1. "Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable and are independent from the musician or ensemble itself." http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/inspection_12/artist.jhtml http://www.allmusic.com/artist/inspection-12-p480906
5. "Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of whom are notable)." One release on Fat Wreck Chords subsidiary Honest Don's, and one on Suburban Home Records & Takeover.
6. "Is an ensemble which contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a member of two or more independently notable ensembles." Only one of the bandmembers, Peter Mosely is noteworthy enough to have his own article, but whereas that doesn't qualify, the two previous ones should be well enough.
Now I don't know how the deleted article looked, maybe it's badly composed flat-out promotion for the band, in which case I'll gladly help condense it into something helpful and informative instead. Anyway, I hope this helps and that I wrote you in the correct place. If not then I apologize, I'm only starting to learn how to be useful to wikipedia. User:Kaysow 18:02, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

Move Request
Hi, could you move WRVA-AM back to WRVA (AM), please? This was moved yesterday and it is an incorrect callsign as the FCC does not use "-AM" in their callsigns. I requested it on WP:RM, but screwed it up (cause I was working on 3 things at once and not feeling well), hence my asking you. Thanks...Neutralhomer • Talk • 04:48, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
- Probably need to go through a full WP:RM discussion at this point, since someone just moved it today, it's not going to be controversy free to move it back. Courcelles 04:51, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
- Bummer. :( I requested again. Feel free it act on it and the others in queue, if you have time. Thanks for taking a look. Take Care...Neutralhomer • Talk • 05:11, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Close?
Can you close a stupid nomination of an FL from a user with less then 50 edits, it think its pure disruption. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kesha discography - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 00:44, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- the only possible way I could close it down would to say it wasn't a deletion nomination, rather a merger one, but even that's not crystal clear, and there's no harm in letting it run and see what happens. Odds are good it SNOWs, though. Courcelles 01:34, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

CFD category moves
Can you set up the cats with the same heading template system used in the Category:2011 television episodes and simlar categories.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 05:43, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- Can admins do Cat moves or do you have to create new cats? It seems you should just move YYYY-YY+1 to new cat YY+1 and save the creation history.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 05:46, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- I have no idea... I'm doing all these by hand. You're welcome to go through and add them if you find them necessary; noone except a developer can move cats, we have to delete and then create new ones. Courcelles 05:47, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Protection at Emily Dickinson
Hi Courcelles, may I ask a favor? Apparently a new user believes I'm personally behind the most recent protection of Emily Dickinson's article. Although I've tried to explain the process to them, I've washed my hands of it -- see Talk:Emily Dickinson#ED and "sexuality" section? and sections following for the straws that broke the editor's back. I would appreciate it if you could patiently explain your reasons behind protecting the article (as I know you've done before), so that I'm not further deemed some sort of tyrant or whatever they assume I am. (Honestly, though, I'm fairly sure it will have to be protected again in a few days anyway. :p) María (habla conmigo) 19:04, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
- No problem, Maria, though the protection was actually nothing to do with that user and was due to schoolchildren thinking puerile jokes on her name were funny. For some reason, I'm somewhat loathe to throw an indef semi-protection on this article, even though this winter has been rather bad on receiving vandalism. Courcelles 21:22, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'd seen you protecting the article on and off over the past few months, so I knew you'd obviously do a better job explaining than I -- it totally didn't occur to me that I should mention the fact that non-admins can't protect articles. Durr. Looking at Category:Wikipedia indefinitely semi-protected pages, I think Dickinson is slightly more tempting to vandalize than Battle of Bunker Hill, but perhaps less-so than Hentai. :) Seriously though, I guess the precedent for indef semi-protection would be someone like Edgar Allan Poe, who homework-ridden schoolchildren also hate, apparently? María (habla conmigo) 21:35, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, you can tell who the schoolchildren are being forced to read this week by finding which literary figure is receiving tons of vandalism. I have a suspicion that Dickinson will end up in that category eventually, but I wish it weren't that way, I've been trying to manage waves with short protections, for what it is worth. Speaking of non-admins... why on Earth are you in that category? Courcelles 22:02, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
- I can't think of a better category to be in! Honestly, there's nothing I need or want to do that requires admin work; except for the occasional acrobatic page-move, deleting image goof-ups, and of course protecting articles from naughty kids, I'm pretty self-sufficient. Plus, I'm not active enough, even as a content editor these days, to make it through the hoops and such to come out an admin on the other side. :) María (habla conmigo) 23:06, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
- I suppose then you're just as well knowing whose ear to et in when you need something, without the hassle of having random problems dropped in your lap :) Courcelles 00:23, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
