I'm a sock???

[edit]

Hello there

I've been in the talk page of the 2024 US presidential election and I noticed you crossed out all my messages because I'm supposedly a sock. I understand the 27 guy, but not me??? 220.240.171.237 (talk) 04:17, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@220.240.171.237:, please see [1]. I am very suspicious that you are User:I would be bias if it was allowed.
Also, based on [2] and [3] , you have admitted to using 101.119.162.78, 101.119.102.25, and 101.119.153.162. The IP comments you have brought back seem to be yours because you brought them back.
My reasoning for suspicion:
1. While User:I would be bias if it was allowed's IP (27.33.134.168) geolocates to the Sydney area in Australia, they mention in User talk:I would be bias if it was allowed#My bad that they used IPs from other areas due to location issues. They have admitted to using Melbourne area IPs [4]. The IP you are using geolocates to Melbourne, and the IPs that made the comments that you brought back on Talk:2024 United States presidential election also geolocate to Melbourne.
2. Both you and 27.33 show a strong desire to remove RealClearPolitics. Stronger than any other user. That's a behavioral similarity.
3. Both you and 27.33 (aka User:I would be bias if it was allowed) love to use multiple IPs. That's behavioral similarity.
4. Both you and 27.33 love saying "I second this". See what 27.33 and IPs he admitted to using wrote: [5], [6], [7], [8]. Now see what you just wrote: [9]. Pretty much no one else used that term in the discussion.
5. It seems like you are commenting that you agree with 27.33's ideas. Not just on the RCP discussion. See the "I second this" diffs above where you agree with 27.33's posts. I'll bring in another example: Talk:2024 United States presidential election#the US Vice Presidential Debate where one of your IPs (geolocation is very similar to IP you admitted to using) agrees with 27.33's comment. Seems like you are using multiple IPs to create an illusion of support.
6. Right after IP 101.119.97.30 (very similar to your IP that you admitted to using) realized that you could remove RCPs nationwide percentages, 27.33 somehow started to know hours later. See: [10], [11]. Before that, they spent days requesting it to be removed in the talk page. They didn't know they could remove it themselves.
7. In User talk:I would be bias if it was allowed#My bad, the user admitted to editing abortion referendum articles on states around the country. Seems pretty clear that they are referring to 101.119.97.30, which is extremely similar to the IPs you admitted to using.
8. It is common for both of you to edit using "Mobile edit" and "Mobile web edit" tags. See: [12], [13], [14].
@NinjaRobotPirate:, what do you think about this? They have commented just now in Talk:2024 United States presidential election. Let me know if you need any clarifications. CountyCountry (talk) 07:57, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I found a new IP sock that just came out [15]. Geolocated of course to Melbourne, Australia. CountyCountry (talk) 08:26, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's mine. I'm confused as to why my IP changed there, didn't seem to notice.
  1. Considering that Australia is a large country that holds about 5% of the English speaking population, that's not actually all that weird to be in the same country as him.
  2. I started this topic. Simply because the user seems to be passionate for it does not mean they are me.
  3. I do not 'love' using multiple IPs. It would be far simpler for me to just have one IP that didn't change. But apparently, that isn't going to happen because of random issues. I'll try and mention myself in any edit I make if my IP plays up again.
  4. I did that as a joke.
  5. I already confirmed I'm all of the 101.119s. If he's sockpuppeting, that isn't my problem. But I'm the 101.119s, the 1.145, and this. If there's any others that pop up, they aren't me unless I specify.
  6. I admitted to using that IP? (101.119) Myself, I check the polls daily. Considering they comment even more than I do, there's a good chance they noticed it there.
  7. I'm not sure what he was talking about the abortion referendums, as I definitely did those. I'm quite confused. I genuinely don't understand what the user means.
  8. This point is quite invalid. Most Australians own phones. If we both edit from phones, then that doesn't mean anything. But I do want to know what your ideal of saying 'You love', seeming to assume that I'm the same person as this user, and the fact you seem to presume that I enjoy using multiple IPs. It's ridiculously inconvenient for me, and I don't see why anyone sane would do it. (Sock puppeteers are not sane.) Considering that it's late and I need to sleep, I'll read on the user's ban details sometime tomorrow. After that, I'll be able to see if he tried to take credit for anything else I did. And please, don't do this next time without having a guarantee or something close enough to it. It really confuses me???

Because the admin hasn't responded, I'll respond to your points.
According to [16], you are admitting you are 101.119.97.30.
  1. I'm not accusing you because both of you are from Australia. I'm accusing you because both of you have used IPs from the same CITY, Melbourne.
  2. No other user is as passionate about removing RCP as you and 27.33. Considering other similarities, this is suspect.
  3. 27.33 also seems to have issues (causes need to use multiple IPs) as I have noted above. Behavioral similarity.
  4. Doesn't sound like a joke to me and to anyone. Sounds like you're just saying that you agree with 27.33.
  5. The evidence speaks for itself. Not much to say here.
  6. The strange occurence I was noting was that both you (101 IP) and 27.33 were asking to remove the RCP nationwide percentages at the top of the RCP discussion in Talk:2024 United States presidential election on Oct. 8. 27.33 responded "I second this" to you. 27.33 then created a duplicate discussion asking for nationwide RCP removal. Then after that, you (101 IP) realized that you can remove it yourself and then hours later 27.33 for some reason began to know after days of both of you not knowing. The evidence speaks for itself.
  7. The user is saying that they edited abortion initiative articles on states across the country. Nothing much to say about this as you didn't counter my point.
  8. Most editors edit using the computer and some with "Advanced mobile edit". Some do edit with just "Mobile web edit" tags but given the other similarities I've listed above, the tags seem to show a link.
Also, pretty much you and 27.33 linked IPs are the only ones edit warring to remove RCP at Nationwide opinion polling for the 2024 United States presidential election. Given geolocation and behavioral similarities, this case seems pretty clear cut. CountyCountry (talk) 18:51, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for not replying earlier, was at a concert.
1. You said it geolocates to Sydney. There's a good chance the user is just lying. Even then, if we were to say Melbourne, there still would be a feasible chance that it's a coincidence.
2. I made the post. If he was passionate about it, that's another thing entirely.
3. As I said above, using multiple IPs is not my preference. I mainly use mobile data, but this is my wi-fi IP. Because of that, sometimes my IPs get confused.
4. The joke was that I decided to say it in that way. If I was agreeing with a point I agree with, that isn't weird???
5. Please explain. I'm admitting to using multiple IPs because of wifi/data issues, I'm not saying 'hey, 101 ISN'T my IP' I admitted they were mine from the start. As for the 1.145, I didn't realise it was a different IP, as stated above.
6. I wanted consensus on that one first. I then read on WP:RSP, and started editing that. Whether or not he took that as a queue is another thing entirely. Go email him or something about that one, I have no clue???
7. As I stated above, if the person decides to say they're me, then that
8. Most people own phones. Easy explanation there. I personally use my phone for convenience when my computer isn't open/ready.
9. He isn't edit warring at the moment. he nor his IPs have been editing for however long, unless he's managed to get hold of another IP. Another thing is that I'm arguably not starting the edit war as there is consensus due to WP:RSP.
I also am very concerned why someone who is vested against my argument in this discussion about the election is so passionate about trying to get me banned for being someone I'm not. I'm going to mention someone who's a reputable editor and on the other side of the argument so we can see if this is a case of trying to make our side look bad.

One more thing.
I noticed the user wasn't completely banned for sockpuppetry, he was banned for ban evasion. bbb23, the administrator managing that discussion, actually mentioned that it was technically ban evasion. And while writing this, I just realised I was using my mobile data IP, so I connected to WiFi simply to satisfy you. 220.240.171.237 (talk) 22:25, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This back-and-forth discussion isn’t going anywhere. Because the other admin hasn’t responded, I am pinging @Izno:. I would appreciate your input. Thanks. CountyCountry (talk) 23:29, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I also think I'll mention @Bbb23 because he was the main person involved in the banning of the person. 220.240.171.237 (talk) 09:22, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you suspect evasion, please file an SPI for the relevant user. Izno (talk) 17:35, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I’ll file a report there later today or tomorrow, unless Bbb23 comes along and takes action, but they’re on Wikibreak until next month. CountyCountry (talk) 19:25, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Please notify me on my talk page if you do report me, as I would like a say in all of this. 220.240.171.237 (talk) 05:41, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
