I'm looking into this user's current unblock request, and I was wondering if you might be willing to reconsider the use of an indefinite block, in this case. While edits like these aren't the most helpful, and this attack is downright hostile and abusive, they do have a history of helpful edits, including several reversions of vandalism. I am concerned that they seem unrepentant for their vicious attack ("I didn't do anything..."), but given that they have an editing history, however brief, and that most of their edits were of benefit to the project, I was thinking we might reconsider this one. Thoughts? Luna Santin 09:36, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- Ahh, those deleted edits at their userpage do change the picture, somewhat. ;) Will decline their request. Thanks for your consideration. Luna Santin 12:05, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi Coredesat, Just letting you know that I've raised a DR on Joseph's deletion . Regards, Ben Aveling 06:48, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's sort of what I expected. In a way, there really wasn't any decision left to make. I am hoping to persuade Zoe to un-make the decision to delete, but I guess DR is as good a place to have that discussion as anywhere. Regards, Ben Aveling 07:09, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
School deletions
Closing AfDs is NOT an appropriate place to be bold and insert your own opinion, it is a place to interpret the existing consensus as best you can. Further, simply disregarding the opinions of several good faith editors regarding notability because you disagree is abuse of administrative rights, treating them as instead as power to influence Wikipedia and enforce your opinion instead of tools to serve the community.
I strongly encourage you to revert your recent activities in this regard. Unfocused 17:55, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
- Complaining to the person who has made an error (or arguing, if that's how you see it,) is the first step of dispute resolution. This is a case where I am disputing your actions as an administrator. I prefer to discuss it with you directly, unless you refuse to discuss it, which you appear to be doing. At this point, I believe you have begun acting outside the bounds of good faith to defend your incorrect actions. In addition to potential deletion review, I urge you to voluntarily seek review from a neutral third party. I never complained to JoshuaZ, whose participation is unsolicited and voluntary. (Cross posting this to your talk page to ensure that this attempt at dispute resolution is not overlooked.) Unfocused 21:23, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Recent Deletion
Hi you recently deleted an article I was very interested in, and I know the people who posted the article and they were very disapointed. I know I was a new user, but I have benn actually using Wikipedia for a long time - and this is the first time the content I was interested in was up for deletion, so it was the first time I commented.
Anyway, I hope you can repost the article as Vicky Smallman also has an article and she is no more relevant a person than Gary Ludington. Some of the people who commented on her deletion also asked you to keep the article on Gary Ludington. Since then there has been a lengthy article on him in the Ottawa Citizen and other local papers.
Hope you reconsider- Lejdesign

Hi,
How are you?
I am proposing that the following article: Release Lillywhite Recordings Campaign be deleted. There is no proof that this campaign led to the recording of Busted Stuff, or was acknowledged by the DMB or RCA people. While the campaign was mentioned in Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly, I don't think that is grounds enough to have a separate article. Please comment on the Talk page. Thanks. Reconsider?
Recently, you deleted a page called linuxcaffe. Understandable and thanks for the pointers on where to start r.e. spam and such. However, I believe there is a little bit of a misunderstanding.
The linuxcaffe page contained relevant and useful information about a business that is in the business of promoting Free Software, fairly traded and organic products, and various community coops and artists. The only promotion that the caffe engages in is the unselfserving kind. I do not work for the linuxcaffe, I merely frequent it and enjoy their lattes.
Linuxcaffe has received a fair amount of attention for these very reasons:
http://business.newsforge.com/business/06/03/07/1556230.shtml?tid=39
http://digg.com/linux_unix/New_linux_cafe_opens_in_Toronto
http://www.linuxcaffe.com/node/228
"So within 48 hours, 3 major news networks, covering high-tech/ open source/ WiFi stories, decided independently that linuxcaffe was a good place to start."
If putting a link to the caffe website first and foremost (as the spam page says one should not) was the reason for deletion, that's easily changed. Please reconsider? Would removing the business template on the right be of any use?

Re: Closure of Halo Demo for Mac
Curious as to your closure reasoning. My SMerge rationale was based on the fact that there is no mention at Halo: Combat Evolved of a Mac demo, and at least that fact could have been merged into the article. I'm not saying I want to open up a deletion review or anything. --RoninBKETC 22:42, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Response reposted for clarity
- I closed it as a delete because I saw a rough consensus to delete aside from the smerge arguments, and I'm not so sure it would be a useful redirect following a merge of any kind. You can still go ahead an add a mention of the fact that there was a Mac demo to Halo: Combat Evolved if you want. --Coredesat 22:51, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Deletion Reevalutation
I formally contested the deletion of my page "Lee Quinn" and gave valid reasoning on the user talk page. The person IS signifigant to Broughton Students, and i would like to politely request a reevaluation.
Edit: Yes, parts of the introduction were made up, but the rest of the article related to real things that Lee Quinn actually does. His most well known quote "Yeoman are farmers who farm a small amount of land, not small farmers" was included in the intro. He really says this, I am in his class. Many freshman/sophomores at my high school have heard various bits and pieces of stories about him, and I attempted to provide the truth about these. He really goes on road trips with his friend freshmax, we really do look at the tree (a popular topic among previous IB students), and he really does enjoy bison. What if i redid the content of the page, without the fake information and provided more content about him, as well as debuking the myth that his class is "impossible" and that he assigns rediculous essays. Some of his essays are hard, but I believe these myths sway the decisions of underclassman about the decision to rejoin the IB program. I am new to wikipedia, so i am sorry if i was supposed to post all of this (request for reevaluation) somewhere else...
Edit: He was a member of a group of historians who spent two months in Ireland to study the effects of the Irish Potato Famine on immigration to the United States. This link Research Paper is a pdf version of a research paper he wrote summarizing his findings as a historian, and is addressed to his senior research leader, Dr Meagher, a noted historian, as you can see in the subject line. He has been on many such research ventures with other notable historians.
Edit: Fixed Link
Edit: Sorry for all the posting, if this does not satisfy you then i will post on the aforementioned delection challenge page you mentioned.
(The book by Dr. Meagher won several awards as mentioned on the above link)
There is obviously some credibility here, as well as notability. At least I believe so, and if you could provide me with the deleted articles text, I can add all of these new links (such as too his research paper) and all the new information.
Thank you for your consideration
Edit: Final edit i promise, another moderator has deleted the page now, and i did not have enough time to make all the changes, i have cited all of this on his talk page, he left a comment on my talk page calling the article vandalism, but i was adding all the new info, and i was editting the bio.

Deletion Reevalutation
I would like to request that Pear Cable Audio Cables be considered for undeletion. The article was deleted, then reposted with the addition of 3 links to point out the notability of the company. This repost was also deleted. To address the complaints specifically: The page is factual material that does not make any biased claims whatsoever, ie the article does not state that Pear Cables are the best, or anything of that nature. The company is notable due to the fact that it has been written about by multiple independent organizations (3 links were provided). If Pear Cable Audio Cables does not qualify for notability, then virtually every company on the High-end audio page should also be deleted except for perhaps a couple of publicly traded companies. The complaint posted by Tubezone that complains about the price of 1 product sold by Pear bears no relevance to the subject of deletion. However, it does exhibit a bias that is exhibited by some who do not believe that high-end audio cables are worth the money they cost. This opinion is diametrically opposed to the opinion of virtually all respected high-end audio publication reviewers, but more importantly bears no weight on weither companies should have articles in wikipedia.
- Article has been recreated per the discussion on the deletion reevaluation page.

Gladys the Swiss Dairy Cow
Hello, and thank you for your review of the AFD on Gladys the Dairy Cow. There certainly were some stong opinions on both sides, and the no-consensus choice you made seems like a reasonable conclusion. If you have a moment to answer a question, I would be grateful.
My understanding of the AFD process is that when the discussion period ends, an uninvolved user with special wiki-powers ( what those powers are and what categories they come in I don't yet understand) makes as close to an unbiased desision on the outcome as possible, and then either delete's or keeps the article. I also though that there was to be some level of detailed commentary as an explanation from the closing reviewer.
I see the sentence in the AFD where you report your decision - Is that all the text there is, or am I not looking in the right place?
Also, you use the word unfortunattely to describe the result. Is that because you find no-consensus outcomes unfortunate regardless of the topic at hand, or were you representing an individual value judgement that it was unfortunate that the result for this specific article wasn't delete or keep ( depending on the outcome you preferred for the the subject)?
Have a great day!--James.lebinski 14:51, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

206.254.243.254 & EliteMike: a connection?
Hello! First, I'd like to thank you for your swift response to my posting about the vandalism being generated by 206.254.243.254. I first noticed 206.254.243.254 when they vandalized EliteMike's userpage. Both accounts originate from Harlingen, Texas...not a large town (I'm originally from Texas), and not exactly what one would call a hotbed of internet users, much less wiki editors. EliteMike has only been active since 10/29/2006; and already has shown an interesting way of expressing himself (as seen here), although there are more than a few good edits in their contribs. It may be coincidence, but I think he vandalized his own userpage just to see what would happen. Another possibility, judging from the mixture of good faith edits and incongruous actions, there may be more than one human using the EliteMike account. I'd be interested to know your thoughts. Thanks! -- weirdoactor t|c -- 20:29, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'd actually bring this up on WP:ANI, because it looks like an interesting case. I'm not sure you'd be able to request a checkuser here, but it's almost obvious by looking at the IP's talk page and EliteMike's user page. --Coredesat 21:14, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- I think I'll just keep an eye on both the IP and EliteMike for awhile. If I see any more funny business, I'll go the WP:ANI route, but as you said, there probably isn't enough of a pattern now for a checkuser. Thanks! -- weirdoactor t|c -- 21:20, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
