Happy New Year, CookieMonster755!
CookieMonster755,
Have a prosperous, productive and enjoyable New Year, and thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia.

Send New Year cheer by adding {{subst:Happy New Year fireworks}} to user talk pages.
- Thank you, Davey! I wish the same for you as well. Happy New Year 2018! CookieMonster755✉ 01:22, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
I reverted your BOLD move here. While the New York (state) is now the title, that does not mean that all offices associated with it should have the same title. For example, to my knowledge, there is no Attorney General of New York City. There are 5 different DAs. Adding the parenthetical disambiguator here adds nothing, and would not follow our naming practices. You're free to request the move through an RM if you prefer. TonyBallioni (talk) 14:31, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
- I noticed you moved a lot of other pages too. I've gone ahead and reverted those moves as well. Some of them might be justified, but they should be discussed. Others, like the governor and lieutenant governor, are unlikely to be moved since the positions only exist at the state level and it is undoubtably the most common name. As above, you are free to start an RM on any and all of them. TonyBallioni (talk) 14:36, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
- Hi TonyBallioni, thank you for reverting some of the unnecessary moves. Thinking about it, the governor and lieutenant governor only exist at state level, so disambiguation was not needed. However, I was moving pages for consistency reasons with the main New York article. Happy New Year! CookieMonster755✉ 19:25, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
- However, I do think Electoral reform in New York and Political party strength in New York should have state in them, to disambiguate from the city. CookieMonster755✉ 19:26, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
- As well as Courts of New York to Courts of New York (state). CookieMonster755✉ 19:27, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
- That's fine, I won't participate in those RMs, but they are controversial enough that they should go through it. I can easily see the argument in the naming policy on either side. If you've never started an RM before, you can find instructions on how to do so at WP:RM. TonyBallioni (talk) 00:53, 2 January 2018 (UTC)

GA review maintenance
CookieMonster755, thank you for your recent work in GA review maintenance. I've just done a couple of things I thought you should know about.
First, on Talk:Missed call/GA1, after you posted your query, the reviewer deleted their review and your query. I put the page up for speedy deletion, and it has already gone through, so I've adjusted the GA nominee template on Talk:Missed call to show that it's available to be reviewed.
Next, on Talk:Jay Obernolte, you closed this as failed. I got in touch with the reviewer, and they had deliberately left it open in the hopes that the nominator would do some work on the article (which they have started), so I've reverted the closure and placed the nomination on hold per the reviewer's request. As a general rule, you should never close a review that someone else has opened. You can query said reviewer, either on their talk page or on the review itself, as to the status of the review, but please do not do the closure yourself unless specifically requested to do so by the reviewer. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 20:40, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
- @BlueMoonset: Hi, thank you so much. I needed to hear this. I will not close other reviewers GA nominations, I was just doing it for maintenance purposes but I definitely will let reviewers handle their own nominations and keep to my own reviews Regarding the missed call, I was just asking the reviewer when they would actually start the review, considering it was over a month with no progress. Cheers, CookieMonster755✉ 20:46, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, I checked the Missed call review page history before nominating it for speedy deletion, and saw both your query about when they would start the review and the subsequent deletion of your question and the single line they had written up to that point. I've posted a query on their talk page about their other one-line review (this one even older), and hope to hear back from them soon so I can delete it as well; I don't think they were ready to handle GA reviews. Thanks for responding! BlueMoonset (talk) 04:38, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
