- Hi Stuartyeates, thank you for your comment. It really helped to explain why the article wasn't being approved! I don't think this company has the right kind of independent sources (at least that I can find on the internet) so I may have to give it up. Thank you again! Cmykpoly (talk) 04:09, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
Paid editing
[edit]Hello Cmykpoly. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Cmykpoly. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Cmykpoly|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Theroadislong (talk) 07:26, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Theroadislong, turns out I did use the articles for creation process, but given that paid advocates shouldn't be writing articles, I'm going to give up on the page. Do I need to get the draft deleted or will it auto-delete?
- I quite like editing articles that I have knowledge about, so will most likely keep doing that (for fun, not for money).
- Thank you so much for the advice and help. Cmykpoly (talk) 08:08, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
- It will auto delete in 6 months or you can blank it and I'll tag it for deletion. Theroadislong (talk) 09:01, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Theroadislong Thank you, I blanked it. Please tag it for deletion when you have the chance :) Cmykpoly (talk) 17:45, 1 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi Theroadislong, sorry, I thought I did it correctly on my user page. I will update it. The instructions on how to disclose were very confusing for me. Thank you for suggesting that I use the articles for creation process. I will explore that option. Cmykpoly (talk) 07:39, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
