Hi

I just want you to thank you as the great (unsure how many exactly) grand nephews of Micheal Urell. It is awesome to see my Uncle in Wikipedia. A few - probably apocryphal - family anecdotes.

1 - he was the first Irishman to be awarded AND KEEP the Medal of Honor. 2 - He later (we were told) fought in the Spanish - American War & was a commander of American Forces. He apparently was the commander of Teddy Roosevelt at one point. At a gathering of Spanish - American War Veterans, he commanded Then President to escort a famous woman to the stage. 3 - I do have his Knights of Columbus Sword. It was passed down to me.
