SYL edits

Can you please slow down, or at least mark these as minor? My entire watchlist is clogged up with these edits tonight, to the point where it's nearly unreadable. They're just not that important. Rebecca (talk) 09:58, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't think I was doing it very fast at all. I will mark them as minor from now on. It would be nice if you could filter a certain editor's edits from your watchlist. --Closedmouth (talk) 12:38, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Swiss towns

My intent was not to suggest that these places are not notable, but rather that they seem to have insufficient content as is to merit an individual page for each village. I would then propose two possible solutions: either list all of these small towns on the larger Val Poschiavo page (with redirects on their original pages), or expand them to the point that they function well as stand-alone pages. Please feel free to let me know if either of these options work for you; I would be happy to carry out the first, and the original creator may be able to carry out the second. Thanks. Nikkimaria (talk) 03:19, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

The Poschiavo article prods

Hi! I have created all the articles that was proded. The summer 2009 i am going to be there in 2 weeks so when i am coming home i can add pictures and a lot more of information. The Rolling Camel (talk) 11:39, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

I have also myself deleted Levjstrimo per CSD G7 Author because i know there is no sources. And its not a town really. It is just 4 small houses. The Rolling Camel (talk) 11:42, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Haha, and i am still a kid as you can see on my user page. The Rolling Camel (talk) 18:10, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Flickr help

Hello Closedmouth, I noticed you had an account at Flickr. Is there any chance you could help me. Would it be possible if you could contact the owners of the following images and ask them if they are prepared to have their work used in Wikipedia. I work on articles relating to Michael Jackson, being the reclusive figure he is, images are very hard to come by and the article isn't exactly attractive. Any help you could offer would be highly appreciated, seriously like a million barnstars your way fantastic. Anyway, these are the images I'm interested in...

If any of these people are not the copyright owners of the images then obviously don't worry about them. I really hope we have some success with this, it's a shame that a featured article on such a public figure is so bland in appearance. — Realist2 23:17, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

I'll see what I can do. --Closedmouth (talk) 06:49, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Okay I've made the initial contacts, give it a few days or weeks and we'll see how it turns out. --Closedmouth (talk) 07:25, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
First success: Image:Michael Jackson's "Bad" Jacket and Belt.jpg --Closedmouth (talk) 09:12, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

OK, I'm watching your page so I'll get all the latest updates. — Realist2 12:51, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Ugh, he doesn't seem to have noticed my latest comment. I'll step up to private messages over the next couple of days. --Closedmouth (talk) 16:43, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
OK, appreciated. — Realist2 17:35, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
I find it odd that he responded so quickly to the first comment, but seems to have completely ignored the second. Oh well, I'll try a little harder this time. --Closedmouth (talk) 13:27, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Pinged them all via "FlickrMail", hopefully they'll notice that and also not tell me to fuck off. --Closedmouth (talk) 14:24, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Yay, two down, page sure you cross it off! I love the golden look :-) — Realist2 14:57, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Currently negotiating with the guy who did the aerial shot of Neverland Ranch. Unfortunately he wants to retain the copyright and have the image appear on Wikipedia. Which is understandable. But not very helpful :-/ --Closedmouth (talk) 12:53, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Darn it, you should tell him about how much good such an image would do. Michael Jackson gets thousands of hits a day. His work would be viewable to a greater audience. I hope he comes around. — Realist2 14:56, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Good idea, I'll mention that in my next message. --Closedmouth (talk) 14:58, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
No dice. He doesn't want to allow the shot to be used in commercial works. So close. --Closedmouth (talk) 07:12, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Darn, only 2 images left :-/ — Realist2 13:49, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Update to keep this from being archived: nothing. --Closedmouth (talk) 13:31, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
If we aren't having any luck, feel free to let this archive. At least we got one picture. Thank you for all your efforts. — Realist2 12:48, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
King of Pop Award — For your contributions to the Michael Jackson WikiProject
The Wikiproject would like to thank you for getting an extra picture on the Michael Jackson article and doing your utmost to find more, albeit unsuccessfully. You have been helpful. — Realist2 12:53, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Ooh aah, sexy. Almost makes up for the frustration of being totally rejected. Thanks man :D --Closedmouth (talk) 12:57, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
I couldn't decide on the star or the statue, eventually I came back to the star. If only they did the statue in gold, that would be really good for awards lol. — Realist2 13:03, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Martinez Beaver Monster

I saw that you removed the delete request from the article. How come? As indicted in the talk page, the article was a hoax and was not supported by a Contra Costa Times article, but only in a vanity webpage created for the article. What did you see that I did not? ttonyb1 (talk) 16:47, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

It was a contested prod. --Closedmouth (talk) 01:09, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

Lam Mus

Hiya. Originally I changed the stub from the Giant star sub to Main sequence as some of the later catalogue entries have changed its typing, which is what I'm going to be using since it happens to be more recent. I removed the stub since the article is under continual expansion. I should have it looking in the style of Delta Muscae in under 24 hours. As for the category, it isn't an A-class giant star (anymore, according to the same more recent data). I hadn't found the name of the correct category to put it under yet. SkarmCA (talk) 03:42, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

In addition- apparently the original page with the list of stars in Musca was wrong, and it is a giant star afterall. My apologies then. Anyway, the article has been expanded past stub status this evening. SkarmCA (talk) 04:27, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Closedmouth, here's hoping you're having a wonderful Christmas, and here's also hoping that all your family and friends are well. Lets all hope that the year coming will be a good one! If we've had disputes in the past, I hold no grudges, especially at such a time as this. If you don't know I am, I apologise, feel free to remove this from your page.

Madagascan (sic) Mantella

Hi - I wanted to redirected the Madagascan Mantella article to a new Malagasy Mantella article but yeah, I got lazy and just corrected the original page. "Madagascan" is incorrect in English, although within the last 4 years it has gained popularity, probably because most people didn't know the correct adjective for Madagascar: "Malagasy". 25 12 2008 - Patrick (Merry xmas!) 10:55, 25 December 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.158.67.45 (talk)

Urgh, I apologise for reverting you (it looked like you were just changing random words); a large scale change such as that would probably require some coordination; there's hundreds of articles that would need to be moved and fixed and all that stuff. I'm not much good at that, you might need to make a proposal on a talk page somewhere so people who are good at that stuff can debate it. I dunno. --Closedmouth (talk) 11:02, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey Closedmouth, thanks for the help on Scott O'Donell and no worries about the miscommunication. I was just curious, though -- how do you in fact change the title of the article? Just curious and thanks again for your assistance. 64.75.245.198 (talk) 20:58, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Dune Skateboards ‎ Prod

You removed the prod from Dune Skateboards with the edit summary "prod is contested, please take it to afd instead if you wish to have it deleted"? Are you contesting the prod - in which case for what reason, or claiming that the previous, vandal, removal of the prod notice was contesting it - in which case please examine that editor's other contributions, and block, and restore the prod. Happy New Year!
Hey there, Closedmouth! Happy new Gregorian year. All the best for the new year, both towards you and your family and friends too. I know that I am the only person lonely enough to be running this thing as the new year is ushered in, but meh, what are you going to do. I like to keep my templated messages in a satisfactorily melancholy tone. ;)

Congratulations to Coren, Wizardman, Vassyana, Carcharoth, Jayvdb, Casliber, Risker, Roger Davies, Cool Hand Luke and Rlevse, who were all appointed to the Arbitration Committee after the ArbCom elections. I am sure I am but a voice of many when I say I trust the aforementioned users to improve the committee, each in their own way, as listed within their respective election statements. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to update the 2009 article, heh.

Best wishes, neuro(talk) 00:44, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

AWB script

Thanks for your comments at my talk page. I don't know if you are aware but I have changed the way of working with AWB scripts. Previously, each AWB script was individually designed and had its own chaotic code update path. It was hard for me to keep track of which code feature had been updated in which script. I now use the monobook script as a master and translate them into AWB-script as children:

Now the code update path is more rational. It is more work and can lead to delays before an update reaches any particular child but it is a definite improvement. I no longer maintain the other scripts. I thought I would let you know. Lightmouse (talk) 13:17, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the update. I don't mind the extra wait, as this method makes more sense, and I'm sure would be much easier to keep track of. And don't strain yourself! We're not that important :P --Closedmouth (talk) 13:23, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi Closedmouth.

I noticed (don't ask ;D) you put a prod on List of sovereign states in 240 BC, and I wonder: doesn't List of state leaders in 240 BC fall into the same category? (I'd be bold an' all, but I'm a bit careful about that for stuff like prods). --Xover (talk) 10:57, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Oops, I thought I replied to this. I was gonna say take it to AFD just in case, but really, it's an almost completely pointless list, with very little room for expansion, so I'd say go ahead and PROD it. If someone thinks they can turn it into something...well, decent, they can contest it. --Closedmouth (talk) 08:14, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Firstly, ARGGHHH!! Jimbo still scares me. Secondly, we never did have any luck with that image? ;( — Realist2 01:45, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

I'd like to move this to an appropriate title, as one of the articles (96.4 The Wave) needs a move, due to a cleanup of the article. 96.4 The Wave needs to be called The Wave, as DAB & online coverage is rising to the FM listening stage, therefore correcting the name. Please write back. Jonny7003 (talk) 19:49, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Erm, no, it's fine as it is. --Closedmouth (talk) 02:40, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
