Speedy deletion nomination of File:George Hodos 1.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:George Hodos 1.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Stefan2 (talk) 10:02, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

- Hi, Cleeross! I saw your request for help, and thought I'd lend you a hand. Depending on the image and it's copyrights, logos have to meet some special Wikipedia image guidelines in order for them to be able to be used. Otherwise, they can be deleted. Check out Wikipedia's guidelines on logos; it will contain all of the information that you'll need to know and understand. Has the image already been deleted? What image are you referring to? ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 12:19, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
- yes the file image has been deleted, but its still on the page. this is my first time creating information on Wikipedia, I need to get this right. this is the file link that has been deleted. should I take the photo off the page? File:George Hodos 1.jpg[edit]
- Hi again, Cleeross. Oh, that's easy then! The image was deleted simply because it was an exact copy of File:George_Hodos_2.jpg, which already exists on Wikipedia. You can read this by viewing the image's deletion log. If you believe that this is not true, you should leave a message on RHaworth's talk page and let him know. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them. Cheers! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 12:32, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

Hi Oshwah thinks for the help I believe I may have uploaded that file twice. So I'm taking it that I can leave the photo on the page. I must say that this is exciting for me, mainly because I'm a avid reader, and I love learning facts. I've used many different encyclopedias in my short time on this planet. To be part of a community that helps create one is something I've never dreamt of. ;-)

Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Cleeross, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Draft:George Hodos has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. /wiae /tlk 15:33, 15 May 2016 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of multiple images

Due to this a tag has been placed on the images requesting that they be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. This is due to the images being tagged {{OTRS received}} for longer then 30 days without permissions being confirmed and no further responses have been received to attempt to resolve the permission issue.
The above notice applies to the following images:
- File:George Hodos.jpg
- File:George Hodos 2.jpg
- File:George Hodos 3.jpg
