April 2016

[edit]

Hello, I'm I dream of horses. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Lung Ying-tai  with this edit, without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.  I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 05:27, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Lung Ying-tai. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you.  I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 06:11, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did to Lung Ying-tai with this edit, you may be blocked from editing. Jim1138 (talk) 06:32, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring notification

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Lung Ying-tai. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Jim1138 (talk) 06:34, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 06:49, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lung Ying-tai

[edit]

The first thing is that you appear to have a wp:conflict of interest as your goals are unlikely to be those of Wikipedia. While adding up-to-date content is desirable, whether the additions are up to Wikipedia's wp:policy would seem questionable in light of removal of much content (the page size dropped by > 8k bytes).

@Civictaipei: Your recent edits appear to be in good faith, but they also appear to be completely unsourced. In order for your edits to be accepted into wikipedia, you need to provide reliable, 3rd-party sources that are unaffiliated with Lung, her foundation, or yourself. These sources need to clearly report all of the facts that you are adding to her page. Wikipedia is not a platform for publishing original content. Phlar (talk) 21:10, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Release permission for File:Lung Ying-tai biophoto.jpg

[edit]

You need to get a release from the image copyright owner and send it to Commons:OTRS. Otherwise, the image will be deleted. As commons:File:Lung Ying-tai biophoto.jpg has all the attributes of not being your "Own work", you need to get a release for the image. You would do so by 1) reading Commons:OTRS to understand the process, 2) getting an acceptable form of proof of release, 3) Sending that proof in an acceptable way to Commons:ORTS. Adding comments to commons:File:Lung Ying-tai biophoto.jpg Commons:Deletion requests/File:Lung Ying-tai biophoto.jpg is unlikely to be sufficient. BTW: You left a message on the talk page: [Commons talk:Deletion requests/File:Lung Ying-tai biophoto.jpg]] which is not where it should go. I believe nobody will look there.

The Commons:Licensing (please read) essentially release the photo into public domain with a few small caveats. You can reduce the image size to make it less valuable to others. i.e. a 400x500 rather than the original 3,264 × 4,896 image to make release more palatable to the owner. Also, you might want to crop it, perhaps to a head shot so one can see it in the article. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 20:56, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
