Some starter tips for writing articles on Wikipedia
Hi, Cindercat, and welcome to Wikipedia! First off, thanks for your contributions to Draft:GeorgeNotFound. I appreciate your initiative in getting this article started. There's a few things that could be improved about it, and I also have a few comments to help you learn a few things about Wikipedia, so I'll be putting them here for your reference and consideration.
- Since GeorgeNotFound is a living person, the article would be subject to Wikipedia's policies for biographies of living persons. It's a bit of a long read, but it'll help the article avoid deletion.
- From your edits, I can guess that you're a user from Fandom. I'm guess that it would also make you skilled (or at least knowledgeable in writing with wikitext). Because of this, I can assume that you pretty much already know the basics of article writing, so I'm guessing that you won't encounter issues with article styling. However, just in case you need it, there is a style guide that all articles follow. Following the guide will increase the chances of your draft getting approved by the Articles for Creation team, the team responsible for checking a draft's eligibility for article status.
- I've put the {{stub}} template at the bottom of the page, since the stub templates belong at the bottom. I've also specialized this template to {{entertainer-stub}}. I've delinked the categories for now, since drafts are not supposed to be categorized until they've been moved to the article space. Lastly, I've created a talk page for the article, which you can use to communicate with other editors on how to improve it, or discuss on what about it should be improved. I've also put the draft under a few WikiProjects that might be able to help out. You can ask them for help in case you need help with something.
- Regarding images, there are certain restrictions to what you can upload to Wikimedia Commons, a sister project of Wikipedia. File:George and his laptop.png might cause a problem, as we don't know whether or not this image has been licensed to us by GeorgeNotFound for usage. Wikimedia has some rather strict guidelines on what can or cannot be uploaded, and if we weren't given permission to use this image, it is likely to get deleted. I won't be discussing that however, as there is likely to be someone on Commons who is much more skilled than me who will do that instead. If you are, however, able to get George to license the image to us, you are free to use it as proof in the event that someone questions your usage of the image.
- Regarding sources, Wikipedia requires multiple independent and reliable sources, especially for biographies of living persons. One of the two references, however, is not allowed for usage on Wikipedia: Fandom. In a 2019 discussion, Fandom was made unsuitable as a source since its content can be modified by users - much like Wikipedia. For this reason, we can't use it as a source since self-published works (not necessarily your self) are not allowed on Wikipedia. However, you can use the references cited in the Fandom article as long as they are reliable sources themselves.
- The other source, which comes from George's Twitter account, can be allowed as George was talking about himself. Primary sources are allowed as long as it comes from the article subject themselves.
Lastly, I ask you to not be intimidated by other users on Wikipedia. We're generally kind to new users, although you might come across some exceptions. We welcome your contributions, and we're definitely open to more of them in the future. If you're ever confused about something, feel free to talk to me or to other editors on the Teahouse, Wikipedia's open discussion page. Sorry about the large wall of text too, but I was hoping to get you started on whatever you need to know as early as now. I definitely hope to see more of your edits in the future, and I hope that you're able to get this draft accepted eventually. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy your time as a Wikipedia editor! Chlod (say hi!) 15:01, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll be sure to read more about creating an article on Wikipedia. Cindercat 🐱 (Talk here) 15:09, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:GeorgeNotFound
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:GeorgeNotFound, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
Hello, Cindercat. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.Deb (talk) 09:02, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not trying to advertise anything and I'm not affiliated with any company. I was just trying to make an article about GeorgeNotFound, just explain what I need to change and I'll do it. No need to delete my article. Cindercat 🐱 (Want to talk?) 07:38, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
- It's always unwise to try to create an article before you have read the guidelines and practised with small edits. My advice is to do that. Deb (talk) 10:02, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
Condor to Xian
I provided a source several times in the summary that Condor does no longer serve Xian. Another user keeps ignoring this. So please explain where‘s the vandalism before I need to inform an admin. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:A61:1077:4A01:54A4:8BCB:BF64:7099 (talk) 18:54, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- There is nothing in the edit summary field. Cindercat 🐱 (Want to talk?) 18:56, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
I think it's probably okay to pull that family info from the article because it's completely unsourced, as is the entire article which I may put up for deletion. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 18:59, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- Then it's OK. If the article is unsourced, go ahead. Cindercat 🐱 (Want to talk?) 18:59, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- I put it up for deletion. Cindercat 🐱 (Want to talk?) 19:08, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- Sounds good! Thanks. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 19:22, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
Word of advice
Hello. It's come to my attention that there's been some disruption coming from your IP addresses, none of which is good, but some of which is really not on. Insert your denial or claim ignorance below by all means, but I wouldn't be posting here if I wasn't convinced I'm in the right place. I'd like to take this opportunity to point you towards the policy of WP:GHBH, because next time there'll be no warning. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 23:38, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
Windows 10
Hi,
I've reverted your edits to Windows 10 article. Please don't put rumours on the article the EOL date that you've posted is only a rumour and not a valid decision from Microsoft themselves and Windows 10 will always be updated by them. Regards, ShadowWarfare 16:42, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- Also if you would like to contact them using the live contact message feature from Support use Case ID: 1024107677 for reference which an advisor told me that Windows 10 would continue to be supported right after 2025. Regards ShadowWarfare 16:42, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- Ok! I thought it would be fine to include it because there were multiple articles stating that Windows 10 will go out of support in 2025 in Google search results. Cindercat 🐱 (Want to talk?) 16:51, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- A lot of those articles are un-reliable and fake news and I'm surprised well not surprised that the BBC has done an article about it thinking its going to happen and making out its fact when its fake news and based on rumours. ShadowWarfare 17:07, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
Fixed your talk page archiving

Re: Unprotection request for an article
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this, I see its been taken care of though so I'm glad that's squared away. Incidentally, you've inadvertently influenced my decision to delay on a new printer in favor of a new tower since Windows 11 looks to be coming out soon, so there's all the proof you need that we need an article for the OS :) TomStar81 (Talk) 08:24, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, someone already moved the article to mainspace but thanks for the response anyway :). You're not alone, Windows 11 came as a total surprise to me as well. The last time I did a big system update was in 2016, as Windows 10 updates have been pretty small and usually install pretty quickly. Looks like the time for a big system update will soon be here again. Cindercat 🐱 (Want to talk?) 20:16, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
Hello Cindercat! Your additions to Surfside condominium building collapse have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:55, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
Your addition has been removed again by a different editor. Everything you add to Wikipedia needs to be written in your own words please.— Diannaa (talk) 18:10, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
- It is. I hate very strict copyright rules. You aren't getting sued over that because I wrote it. It's not copied from anywhere. I already changed the wording and I can't think of any other way of spelling it. I'm pissed off and I don't care and neither should anyone else. It's not copyrighted, that's it. I'll readd it every time it gets removed until people stop caring and have enough braincells to understand that it's not copied. Cindercat 🐱 (Want to talk?) 18:53, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
- You were properly warned and the edits were properly removed, if you don't want to be annoyed, follow policy amd use sources for information, not as a literal source of text. Retyping it and changing "wandering" to "wondering" isn't enough. Don't attack other editors for enforcing policy. Even if it was,improbably published under CC, it's still not acceptable to copy easily rewritten matter into Wikipedia. Threatening to edit-war can result in a block. Acroterion (talk) 19:34, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
Surfside collapse
Please see WP:CIVIL, WP:AGF, and WP:COMPLIC. Even the fact that you are "pissed" does not permit you to address other editors in your edit summary with an abusive tone. General Ization Talk 22:46, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
Live updates on UEFA Euro 2020 Final
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. You're aware of the WP:LIVESCORES guideline. Another blantant update like that will get you a report and most likely a block. Gsfelipe94 (talk) 19:42, 11 July 2021 (UTC)

The visitor of the university IS the Lord President of the Privy Council, Jacob Rees-Mogg. The previous entry (which you reverted back to) is a 2nd year BSc Sports Science student who has clearly been listed as the visitor as a joke. 51.194.129.192 (talk) 19:24, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

August 2021
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Liechtenstein. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you.
You have been an editor long enough for me to find it difficult to accept that you really believed that the information you added could possibly be true, it such an obvious spoof. But if you did, please read WP:RS and especially Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources, where you will see YouTube listed as unreliable for most things – it even has a dedicated page: Wikipedia:RSPYT. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 19:42, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
- Okay okay. I just thought it would be humorous to add that video I just watched to Wikipedia and get some reactions out of people. Cindercat 🐱 (Want to talk?) 20:55, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
- The reaction you will get if you pull a stunt like that again will be to get blocked. Grow up. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 21:24, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, 2021 Milavče train collision. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Milavče train collision. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Milavče train collision. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. JW 1961 Talk 13:52, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

- Article creator here. I've had this happen to me more than once. Whoever gets there first gets the credit. It's a plausible search term so I'll turn it into a redirect. Thanks for your interest and better luck next time. Mjroots (talk) 06:31, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
- PS - why not create the Finnish language article. I can help with sorting the interwiki links once it has been created if you are not sure how to do that. Mjroots (talk) 06:41, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
- I can translate it. I haven't really edited fiwiki because my whole ISP (DNA-MOBILE, 2001:14BB range) repeatedly keeps getting blocked for 6 months much like Template:TMOblock. I've avoided logging into fiwiki using that range because I'm scared that someone might checkuser that range and then my account would pop up and get blocked. The other major ISP here (2001:999) is blocked even here in English Wikipedia for "harassment". Cindercat 🐱 (Want to talk?) 07:31, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
Nomination of The Spiffing Brit for deletion
