Crime in South Africa
[edit]Thanks for your updates to the homicide table. The table is getting unwieldy though. If you can truncate it in some way, by perhaps removing old data, that may solve the problem. It is just getting too wide. JMK (talk) 00:40, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, I noticed this. I was thinking one way of handling it would be to transpose the table, so that the date is in the rows. To avoid that taking too much vertical space, we can make it collapse? I also made this chart. Still needs some work, but I think the chart is more revealing by itself, and we could then relegate the table to a collapse? Chthonicdaemon (talk) 06:58, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Adakiko. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Crime in South Africa, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Adakiko (talk) 12:18, 28 August 2022 (UTC)
Crime in South Africa
[edit]Hello Chthonicdaemon, Excellent job on fixing Crime in South Africa.
Regarding dead links, see wp:Link rot, specifically wp:KDL (keep dead links). In the future, instead of tagging with a {{dl}}
, would please try to locate a copy on a Web archiving site. I found an archival copy on the Wayback Machine for that yahoo.com page at https://web.archive.org/web/20220712085608/https://www.yahoo.com/news/africans-scoff-empty-government-promises-152241213.html If you wish to revive that old yahoo.com link, use the original {{cite web}}
citation and add the archive url to "|archive-url=" and the archival date (in this case) to "archive-date= 12 July 2022". The template will assume that the original site is no longer functioning and have the primary link to the archive page and a "from original" as a secondary. Settings for url status may be found here url-status. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 20:07, 28 August 2022 (UTC)
