Neighborhoods in Omaha

Hey ChristTrekker, thanks for making that map. You present an interesting conundrum: what are the rest of these areas? I would pose that the area surrounding Carter Lake on the Omaha side corresponds to East Omaha; the area sandwiched in between Midtown, South and West Omaha is completely ambiguous though. The City of Omaha reference I use most (located in the first line of the Neighborhoods of Omaha, Nebraska article) doesn't prescribe these designations. What to do? Thanks for making that map though - definitely a good start! • Freechild'sup? 20:52, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

It's ugly but better than nothing. Until I made it I did not realize there were "unclaimed" areas either. I propose we hash this out on the Omaha Wiki. ⇔ ChristTrekker 04:03, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
That sounds good. In the meantime, I might propose that you change the color designating North Omaha. Isn't it a little, um, crass, to shade the area where the majority of the city's African American residents with the color brown? • Freechild'sup? 22:30, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Honestly, I didn't think about it. I'll get out the ol' color wheel and try to find some equally spaced colors that should be more neutral. ⇔ ChristTrekker 14:57, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Category deletion

Hate to be the barer of bad news but your category about paleoconservative parties has been nominated for deletion http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2008_March_10#Category:Paleoconservative_political_parties_in_the_United_States

Merger of List of Norwegian fjords (by geographic locations) with List of Norwegian fjords

I'm extremely good with the merger of List of Norwegian fjords (by geographic locations) with other lists if the information content is still readily available. Since my degrees aren't in computer science and I've been out ot the country (& not following Wiki-tech developments) for the past year, must confess I'm not sure what 'sortable tables' would look like. Can you vector me to an example or post an example of a partial merger on your talk page? Skål - Williamborg (Bill) 00:29, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Omaha

Hey ChristTrekker. Since you've contributed so much to the articles about Omaha, I want to invite you to join me in founding Wikipedia:WikiProject Omaha. According to the guidelines there should be at least five people interested in the in project before launching it, and you would be one of the five most active editors throughout the 100s of Omaha-related articles. Please reply on talk page whether or not you're interested. Thanks. • Freechild'sup? 06:16, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

With support from a number of editors, WikiProject Omaha is now live. Feel free to add your name to the list of editors and to add one of the spiffy templates to your user page. There is a list of open tasks and a resource list you can contribute to or help with, as well! Thanks for your interest, and I look forward to working with you to make WikiProject Omaha a success. • Freechild'sup? 17:12, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
FYI, I have created a new userbox for Omahans to to show that they live in or hail from the city. Here's the code: {{User WikiProject Omaha}} . Let me know if you are interested in collaborating on any topics, and feel free to invite others to join our Wikiproject! Thanks. • Freechild'sup? 08:26, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

As a 1/8th Norwegian American I thought I should let you know that they're trying to delete a category to which you belong. Also! I too am a conservative and used to live in Minnesota - any chance you folks will stay away from the DFL this year? - Schrandit (talk) 17:37, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Los Angeles County, California seal pre-2004.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Los Angeles County, California seal pre-2004.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:43, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Input request on typographic topic

There is a discussion going on at Template talk:Typography terms, and I've seen you editing typographic articles in the past and would request more opinions there. The topic is related to type classifications, and specifically Gaelic script. If you could take the time to review the discussion and add your thoughts, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!-Andrew c [talk] 22:33, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Can't say as I'm knowledgable enough to add anything there. Sorry. ⇔ ChristTrekker 17:37, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Please discuss before moving major articles

Please do not move the VP debate article without discussing; that is a major article that is linked to many others and frequently seen and editing, and moving it can cause a bit of an upheaval.

As I stated in my edit summary before you moved the page, please also discuss at Talk before adding information on the second debate. Given that this second debate was not an "official" debate and not part of the regular campaign season, and seems to have been more of an impromptu thing sponsored by a private organization, you need to discuss with other editors before adding it to the article; if it must be added, it should not be featured as prominently as it was when you first added it. Thank you, —Politizer talk/contribs 18:31, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
