Tumbleweeds

Hi. Take a look at Tumbleweed (diaspore); does moving Tumbleweed (disambiguation) to the base name (Tumbleweed) now make more sense to you? --Una Smith (talk) 04:56, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Peterborough

Done. Please take a look at the headings for the Commonwealth Parliaments to make sure I've got the right people underneath the right Parliament header. I hope I haven't stepped too much on your toes reformatting here; the multi-column tables are a bit painful to write, but IMO they make better use of space and look a bit nicer. Choess (talk) 22:47, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Replacing Images

I can almost forgive the cathedral, but the royal albert hall isn't in peterborough, so why delete a relevant picture that happens to be in peterborough?? The picture may not be of best quality but I think that image was better and you are showing signs of over ownership which isn't fair.

GrumpyGuts (talk) 19:52, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Horrendous?? Please elaborate!

GrumpyGuts (talk) 19:59, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry but I never asked for a definition, I was asking WHY it was horrendus. Thus, I can retake the picture with a camera (i did use my phone, explains the poor quality)

Being an arse isn't very helpful for begginers, is it? The pictures were a bit crud but critising like that is horrendus. You're not really showing a good example to others...

GrumpyGuts (talk) 20:20, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

That was not even me! How dare you! CHECK THE FUCKING IP ADDRESS IF YOU WANT. GrumpyGuts (talk) 21:03, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Flickr Images

I have found proper Flickr images and licenses for use in P. I have opened a concensus on the talk page for consideration. This shouldn't have to go through you all the time and remember to read the ownership of articles page.

GrumpyGuts (talk) 19:21, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm still not clear on this consensus. I have mentioned changing the images in the talk page so it can be decided if the images are good enough for the article. What else is there to it? GrumpyGuts (talk) 22:17, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

from Fingerpuppet's page, I do believe that there is a concencus to change the current image!! GrumpyGuts (talk) 21:32, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Message

Now that wasn't a nice thing to do, was it? Reporting me after your mistake...dear oh dear.

GrumpyGuts (talk) 19:39, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Have you got a problem, Chris? I don't want to fight again but do you enjoy adding more sections of abuse to my talk? You may be categorising each and every single thing I've said but this is going too far. Your name has been removed as per a request from somebody else before you.

You're messing my page and I don't appriciate it. Now, if we can start to forget the past week, the Peterborough discussion page needs attention. GrumpyGuts (talk) 18:41, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Hoffmann Kiln

According to the copyvio page you provided, you have to raise the issue in the discussion page so it can be resolved democratically. You have obviously forgot to do that and much rather revert my edit, which was made such a long time ago. It was sourced so I don't see the problem, other than you. Have you just gone through my contributions and edited them? Please discuss any burning issues you have on the article discussion page and not just revert the edit, that's not how you do it. GrumpyGuts (talk) 16:09, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Your CheckUser request

You recently compiled and listed a case at Sockpuppet investigations. A checkuser or clerk has requested you supply one or more diffs to justify the use of the checkuser procedure in the case, in accordance with the procedures listed in the table at the Checkuser criteria and letters page. For an outcome to be achieved, we require that you provide these diffs as soon as possible. This has been implemented to reduce difficulties for checkusers, and is essential for your case to be processed. A link to your recently-created case which has this information missing is here. Thanks for your co-operation. -- lucasbfr talk 10:06, 5 February 2009 (UTC), SPI clerk.

Definition of Troll

Thank you for pointing to the concept of trolls on WP. I never knew of the concept until now. I appreciate your effort to find a source for your insertion on the article. Brothers in Arms (talk) 06:12, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Population

Your revert was correct, but could you explain to me why the population in the info box differs from the figure given in the intro even though they are both 2007 estimates? Is there a source for the info box figure? If there isn't it would of been better to change that aswell as revert the edit GrumpyGuts (talk) 15:28, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

RE: Category:Companies Based in Peterborough

Chrisieboy, that comment was not at all helpfull because you did not define what I need to do to make it "properly". Next time could you please elabortate? For instance, helping each other out by explaining the fault instead of mocking me because I made a few mistakes. As you can see, I gave it a wrong name at first but I redirected the page to a new one. OK, that was a stupid mistake but it has been CORRECTED, and the current page had a couple of errors which now has been sorted.

There was no need for that... GrumpyGuts (talk) 22:23, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Mesh-29/Whittlesey

Look at the origin:

Is there enough reason here to mention Peterborough? You can't do absolutely everything by the books. If you can see in the official bio, they state they are from Peterborough because hardly anybody has heard of Whittlesey. You HAVE to mention peterborough because that's the band's driving force to their current fame.

I'd advise you to change it or revert it to the way it was before otherwise you are lowering the standards of the article GrumpyGuts (talk) 18:14, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Variable Crewing

Please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Cambridgeshire_Fire_and_Rescue_Service#Variable and comment accordingly. Thanks Squirrel684 (talk) 17:10, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Leeds

You seem to have an interest in the merging of articles on cities and settlements. Do you want to get involved in the discussion going on at User talk:Jza84? Not sure it's quite correct to invite someone to participate in a debate on another user's page, but this seems to have spontaneously developed into a full discussion and Jza84 doesn't seem to mind it occurring on his page. Skinsmoke (talk) 21:52, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Winchester

Hi, after your recent edits we now have .. "a [[city]] and local government district... where [[city]] points to City of Winchester, which redirects back to Winchester. That's probably not what you intended! Pterre (talk) 21:43, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Chrisieboy, I have moved "Governance of Winchester" back to "City of Winchester" because it is a contentious move and was done without discussion. I've left a notice on WT:UKGEO. Nev1 (talk) 22:31, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Deleted?

User:Chrisieboy/Books/Peterborough. Is this what you want deleted? Keeper | 76 18:14, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes, please. Chrisieboy (talk) 18:35, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

British people

Perhaps we could make ammends by collaborating on this article? I provisionally removed a couple of the additions you made pending sources (I thought User:Malleus Fatuorum had added them until reviewing the history, sorry - nothing personal).

I believe you have an interest in British history, so this could be a way in which we together get a GA, or even FA???? There isn't a great deal left to tackle, but I'm confident you'd bring a perspective that would be different from my own, and I trust your judgement in this respect. --Jza84 |  Talk  18:24, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Constitution of Italy

Hi. Can you tell me why you undid my change of the English translation of the Italian Constitution? My source comes from official institution and also includes the Transitional and Final Provisions that aren't included in the previous source. (Zdravko mk (talk) 10:03, 11 June 2009 (UTC))

Abbey (bank)

I've reverted Abbey National back to a REDIR to Abbey (bank) as it was 'til early this morning. This makes the proposed merge unnecessary. Regards, Bazj (talk) 19:24, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Well done. I didn't notice that. Chrisieboy (talk) 19:34, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi Chrisieboy/Archive 3! A Wikipedia:WikiProject Northamptonshire has now been created. If you wish to help out improving articles relating to anything in the county, please don't hesitate to go to the page and sign up!--Kudpung (talk) 12:58, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm not sure. What was the issue and where is the archive? --candlewicke 00:49, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Northamptonshire

Hi Chrisieboy/Archive 3! A Top Priority article you have been involved with has many issues and urgently needs improving. If you can help with these issues please see Talk:Northamptonshire, address the different points if you can, and leave any comments there. (This is a generic message. if it has been placed on your talk page inadvertantly, please ignore it.) --Kudpung (talk) 22:52, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Deletion of File:Britannia Building Society.jpg

{{Help}} Can an administrator please delete this file. Chrisieboy (talk) 17:08, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi there. It's been deleted. In future though, instead of using a helpme for that, please put an appropriate deletion template on the file page itself (not the talk page) - see Wikipedia:Csd#Files for information. For example, in this case, putting {{db-f3}} would have worked fine - or {{db-author}}, which is what the administrator used (see the log).
Please only use the helpme template here, on your own talk page.
For more help, you can either;
  • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
  • Talk to us live, with this or this.
Best wishes,  Chzz  ►  17:20, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

My mistake. I forgot. Chrisieboy (talk) 17:22, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Why do you keep uploading things and then asking to delete them? -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 17:39, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

I cropped the white background and uploaded it again, sorry. Chrisieboy (talk) 17:40, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

You don't need to have them deleted, just upload a new copy. Use the "Upload a new version of this file" link at the bottom of the page. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 17:42, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

I tried that, but it wouldn't work. Corrupt file extension or something. Chrisieboy (talk) 17:43, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Were you switching from jpg to gif? That's probably the problem. Which one do you want to keep? I'll delete the other. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 17:45, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Yes, it changed from .gif to .jpg when I edited it. I thought that might be the problem so I saved it as .gif, but it still wouldn't work. Anyway, please delete File:Britannia Building Society.gif. Cheers, Chrisieboy (talk) 17:50, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Coat of arms of Italy

You have reverted my corrections of the terminology under coat of arms of Italy twice now, when even the article itself says of the matter, "it is an emblem rather than a coat of arms, as it was not designed to conform to traditional heraldic rules." If you could please reinstate this correction of the terms, or explain your reasoning as why you think I am in error in this matter.

Please, also refer to the coat of arms or heraldry articles to familiarize yourself with a coat of arms.

Thank you for your time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Xanderliptak (talkcontribs) 00:06, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Peterborough

I noticed you reverted by recent edit but didn't seem to explain why. I don't think we need to spell out the full company name, particularly because I'd expect most people to be familiar with the company simply as East Coast because they seem to be using that primarily, but I'd certainly appreciate that if I've failed to consider something you would explain that so I can try understand. Regards. Adambro (talk) 14:37, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

While East Coast may, in time, become synonymous with the train operating company, I think it's early days yet. Using the proper name is not a bad thing for an encyclopedia, especialy bearing in mind the ambiguity of the term. I also removed the duplicate wikilink to ECML as it is now linked in the lead. Sorry, I should have explained myself. Chrisieboy (talk) 15:00, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
Okay, fair enough, thanks for taking the time to help me understand that. Sorry for reinstating the duplicate ECML link, I mustn't have being paying enough attention because that wasn't my intention. Adambro (talk)
