ROTR
[edit]Ha, hello! Blast from the past indeed. I've been heavily on a ROTR history kick for various reasons lately, so thought it was a good time to pop in and give things a bit of an update. Some stuff I've learned in the years since where what I put in the article originally wasn't necessarily fully correct, plus it was lacking an update at all on the recent revival! Hope you're well, and good to see you still keeping an eye on these things! Seb Patrick (talk) 13:49, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

FLC query
[edit]Hi, Chris. While I wouldn't go for any more than two FLCs at a time, as it does seem to go against the spirit of the instructions, that will hopefully be a moot point soon. I gave you a source review for the FLC with four supporters, so that one should be just about ready for promotion. I'll handle it this weekend if it's still open. Disambiguation link notification for July 10
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of Hot Adult Contemporary number ones of 1986, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Carl Anderson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 19:52, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
Dear Chris, I'm hoping you may be able to help with the above. I've been putting in the accessdates for the CADW pages, but have obviously messed up somewhere. You'll see that the Sources section now contains some templating error messages. I've tried everything I can think of, including restoring an old , correct version, and cut-and-pasting from the Grade I article but the error messages stubbornly remain. Any advice would be much appreciated. KJP1 (talk) 08:59, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- No worries - have reverted to last correct version and started again. Do wish I'd put the accessdates in first time round! KJP1 (talk) 09:31, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- Chris - If you have the time to look and advise, I'd really appreciate it. I thought I'd gone through and corrected every access-date but I'm now getting the error messages in both the References and the Sources sections. I'm at a loss at to what I'm doing wrong. Question about FLC
[edit]So I haven't seen or done a FLC before, and I've read the instructions page but have a quick question if you have time. You definitely seem like you know how this stuff works, and you were kind enough to review my list, thank you :) Do I need to do anything myself, or do I just wait for a FL delegate to come along and close promote/close it once my FLC has a few supports (including source checks)? NicklausAU 05:00, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
- @NicklausAU: - as it stands there's no actions for you to take - unless anyone raises any new queries/issues/comments, it's just a case of sitting and waiting for it to be promoted :-) -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 19:56, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Thomas Bryan (Welsh footballer)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Thomas Bryan (Welsh footballer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Melmann 19:39, 22 August 2019 (UTC)

FLC query
[edit]Hi Chris. There's nothing more that you need to do there. I update the review needed sections when I go through FLC each week seeing what can be closed. While I probably should have removed your list from the review needed section earlier, the source review was performed within the last week, so my last update wouldn't have covered it. In the future, I'll try to pay more attention to making sure that FLCs don't appear in both sections, but for your list this should be resolved by the end of the day. Giants2008 (Talk) 17:19, 17 November 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Happy Adminship Anniversary!
[edit]You AfDed this a while back, I note this has been restored. Do you think it should get a speedy or another AfD, or has his career progressed to a point he is now notable? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:06, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Piotrus: - At the time he had never played professionally. He has now played 20+ games for for Manchester United, so he is 100% notable -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 08:29, 5 December 2019 (UTC)

Hi ChrisTheDude, wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas |
"Mangled English"
[edit]Regarding this edit you made on List of Billboard Adult Contemporary number ones of 2020, I don't know if you were just referring to you rewriting the caption of an image that an IP editor added to the article, but if you were referring to my line "In the first issue of the year [that] Billboard dated January 4" as "mangled English", it really isn't, as my addition of "[that]" proves—Billboard gave the first issue of the year the date "January 4". That's what is being said there. While not the best phrasing, it still makes perfect sense and is in no way "mangled". I'm a native English speaker, and I would find it rather condescending for you to imply that I can't write something correctly. That's not to say native English speakers can't make grammatical mistakes—I'm sure even you do—but that doesn't make sentences you don't like and want to rephrase "mangled". Thanks.
