Adoption
Hey Chip! First of all, I have resolved my mistakes with BWilkins and am drafting a proposal as to when a non-admin can close a request at WT: PERM. Feel free to put in your comments. Also, I have adopted a user and I think you would also like to do so. Lastly, I like your new signature. Regards, Electriccatfish2 (talk) 22:42, 16 July 2012 (UTC).
- Hi, thanks about the signature! About AAU, I may do, in time! Thanks for the suggestions!--Chip123456 TalkContribs 16:37, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
AfD fun...
Hi Chip,
Thanks again for being so patient. I have had a chance to look through your AfD contribution history, I saw about thirty contributions (let me know if that's way off.) In general I think I see signs that you're picking up things, but it's hard to see precisely where you are in the learning curve from those AfDs, in a lot of cases you arrived at the AfD after a number of folks had contributed, and so on. That's cool, nothing wrong, but it means that we're going to have to work a little harder to work with you and figure out where any gaps in your understanding are and help you along.
If you're game, I'd be glad to put aside some time every few days (maybe not every day, but every few days) to spend some time trying to help ramp up your knowledge there. But we'll have to start out at the start, which means it'll take us a little time before we get to closure issues, first, we'll need to review some of the mess that is our notability requirements. Notability is really at the crux of nearly every AfD, and the rules and regulations around it seem to conflict with each other. And solid closing, even non-admin closing, requires in most cases a real comfort with understanding how all those contradictions are resolved. If that sounds like a big pain, no worries, AfD isn't everyone's cup of tea. But if you're still interested, I have a little project, which you can find at User:Joe_Decker/AfDProject1! Either way, I really appreciate your enthusiasm. Thanks! --j⚛e deckertalk 02:20, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
- Wow, thanks! I promise I will get round to that little project no later than tomorrow. I just have to sort out the below. As they say, business before pleasure! Thanks, again, and yes, I'm interested and accept!--Chip123456 TalkContribs 18:32, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

No worries
There's no deadline on the project, you can always come back to it! (Although if some of the articles get sourced or deleted I might switch 'em up.) I don't feel at all bad abut that, I've been distracted too--trying to diagnose some kernel panics on my laptop. I *think* I've got that solved now, though, cross fingers! Cheers, --j⚛e deckertalk 14:40, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thnaks for being understanding, I'm trying to spread myself between this wiki and another at the moment so it's a bit hectic. Best.--Chip123456 15:54, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
Hi Chip! I was working at C:SD and I have the CSD Helper Script enabled and I saw that this article was tagged for deletion as a G1. It wasn't nonsense characters, so I replaced the G1 tag with a G2 tag as it seemed like a test page. However, when the CSDH sent out the message, I noticed that Mifter's alternative account tagged it. Mifter is an admin and I sincerely doubt that he would make a mistake like that. What are your thoughts? Should I re-instate the G1 tags, should I tell Mifter, or should I let it be? Best, Electric Catfish 18:13, 24 July 2012 (UTC).
- You can be bold and ask him, if you believe there is an issue.--Chip123456 18:26, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks. The CSDH left a note on the account's page. I'm sure that I'm right here as G1 only applies to nonsense characters. Electric Catfish 18:32, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- NP. Happy editing!--Chip123456 18:35, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks! You too! Electric Catfish 18:37, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) The original CSD tagger was trigger-happy, since it was G1ed just 18 minutes after creation. I would say that it's not WP:CSD#G1, not because it isn't "nonsense characters" but because it's basically coherent. It's also not WP:CSD#G2, because it's an attempt to create an article, not an editing test. If it is a speedy candidate, I think that WP:CSD#G11 fits best, since it appears to be promotion. Failing that, you could WP:PROD it. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:50, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- Note: I don't know the circumstances, but Redrose64, 18 minutes (no matter the circumstances) is not trigger-happy; trigger-happy is a few minutes after creation. Callanecc (talk • contribs) talkback (etc) template appreciated. 07:04, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

Thanks guys, I decided to PROD it and than the author blanked the page so I tagged it as a G7. It's now deleted. The thing that bothers me is that an Admin's alternate account tagged it in the first place. Electric Catfish 19:58, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

- Hello! I reverted your edit on 9 July 2012. A reason for you receiving the warning could be because you are on a shared IP address and somebody else using the IP has vandalised, not you. If you've done nothing wrong, then you have nothing to hide. Please realise that when I have reverted vandalism, it is my duty to post warnings on the performers talk page.
