Updating the existing article

[edit]

@Indefensible: All of the existing content from the current article is incorporated into this draft and the reference are updated. Let me know if you have any feedback!--Chefmikesf (talk) 19:05, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This will take a little bit of time for review, will get back to you soon. - Indefensible (talk) 01:09, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Indefensible: Do you have any feedback or thoughts on this sandbox? What can I add or remove so its ready to incorporate to the existing article?--Chefmikesf (talk) 21:53, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Looks decent, could use some more non-corporate refs though. Not really understanding the end of the "public acceptance" section, what are those universities doing with VLRCOE? Is https://aip.scitation.org/doi/figure/10.1063/1.4756914#v1 the correct ref there? - Indefensible (talk) 05:19, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks @Indefensible:, I will work on references tomorrow morning and re ping you in the PM. Regarding the public acceptance section, I was trying to show universities are beginning UAM programs. Do you have any suggestions? I'm open to amending it. Best--Chefmikesf (talk) 05:46, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Indefensible: Can you take another look at the sandbox? I replaced and added references throughout the article.--Chefmikesf (talk) 19:06, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Chefmikesf: Seems decent to me. Just realized there is an existing article though, are you planning to overwrite that? Also, what is "Advanced Air Mobility"? - Indefensible (talk) 05:52, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Indefensible: I suggest merging this sandbox into the current Urban Air Mobility Wikipedia article. That said, I included the well-sourced content from the current article into my sandbox, so there should be a smooth transition. Let me know if you want me to highlight the old content.
Over the past year, the FAA and NASA debated what terminology should represent the category. Neither has given conclusive guidance. I researched and wrote the draft as UAM or Urban Air Mobility because that's the terminology the sources cited. The most current sources are leaning towards Advanced Air Mobility, including rural applications, drones, and unmanned systems. If we could add a section for rural applications, I suggest publishing this version then requesting to change the name to Advanced Air Mobility. Thoughts?--Chefmikesf (talk) 23:34, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I can see about merging the article. What I meant is you wrote that UAM is a subset, it sounds like AAM should be defined or have its own article for encyclopedic coverage. - Indefensible (talk) 06:49, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Indefensible: That sounds good to me. Once we publish this, I can work on reviewing sources and content I have from a year of research. --Chefmikesf (talk) 18:28, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Have started the article merge, will be rolling sections in over time in case anyone raises new concerns. - Indefensible (talk) 21:28, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Indefensible: That sound great. I will follow along if you need any additional support or references.--Chefmikesf (talk) 19:39, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a time we should aim to finish and update Urban air mobility with this article? Urban Versis 32 (talk) 02:17, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Urban Versis 32: I'll leave that up to you or others that have pitched in on the article. From my perspective, this version is better than what currently exists. Would you be OK making the updates?--Chefmikesf (talk) 03:35, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I do agree that this article is better and more up-to-date than the mainspace one. But there must be some kind of protocol for completely revamping a mainspace article, rather than simply overwriting its current content in an edit. Let me do some research and get back to you on that. Urban Versis 32 (talk) 03:43, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Urban Versis 32: I see what you're saying. As Indefensible say above, he suggests publishing a few sections every few days to see if anyone has feedback. He already published the Public acceptance and Training and education sections. Look forward to hearing what you find as well too. I appreciate the help.--Chefmikesf (talk) 03:58, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see. Just one more clarification, and then I can start helping. If a section already exists, do I simply replace the section; and if the section does not already exist in the article, I add it in its place in the article? Urban Versis 32 (talk) 14:25, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If the section exists, the section has been updated by Indefensible. And yes, if the section does not already exist in the article, add it in its suggested place in the article?--Chefmikesf (talk) 17:45, 31 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thank you for clarifying. I will begin by adding one section every week or so, and we can go from there. Thanks! — Urban Versis 32KB(talk | contribs) 01:15, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
