Your post on Explicit's user talk page
[edit]Hi Charles J. Jones. I saw the post you left on Explicit's user talk page. I'm not an administrator like Explicit and perhaps he will respond a bit differently, but it seems to me that you are misunderstanding some very important things about Wikipedia. I think you should take a look at Wikipedia:The answer to life, the universe, and everything, Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#Writing about yourself, family, friends, Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#Law of unintended consequences, Wikipedia:Autobiography and Wikipedia:An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing, Wikipedia:Ownership of content and finally Wikipedia:Notability (persons) because these pages contain information that seems to apply to your situation. Bascally, Wikipedia hosts articles written about subjects considered to meet Wikipedia's definition of notability and is only intended to include content which can be verified through citations to reliable sources; Wikipedia content isn't owned by the subjects it's about and there's no right of "final editorial" control granted to these subjects. Wikipedia articles also can't be used to promote subjects of their activities. Now, it might be possible that Wikipedia article could be created about you if you meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines, but it would be, for the most part, a neutrally written article about you based entirely upon what reliable secondary sources have been saying about you; in other words, it would not be written for your benefit and you would be expected to not really edit it directly except in some very limited cases. Anyway, please look at the pages I linked to above. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them below, at the Wikipedia Teahouse or at the Wikipedia Help Desk and someone will try and help you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:53, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
