Hello, Cgsstl. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Citizens for Global Solutions, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 01:01, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
So who does the editing?
[edit]March 9, 2018 user CGSSTL
As I discussed in my introduction, I have a COI. I can work with my organization, Citizens for Global Solutions, to generate the text and references to repair and replace what was deleted but who does the editing? Can I paste the contents of the new proposed article into Talk and one of you guys will review it and publish it? How does anything get published if all the people who know anything about it are excluded due to COI? Thanks Cgsstl (talk) 23:33, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is edited by volunteers. Yes, if you suggest content on the article's talk page, hopefully volunteer editors who do not have a conflict of interest can review it and if it is appropriate, make the changes to the article. The best way to flag this and get people's attention is by using this Template:Request edit. Cheers, Melcous (talk) 03:36, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
