Image source problem with Image:Chico Heat cap insignia.gif

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Chico Heat cap insignia.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:24, 8 August 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 18:24, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am working on getting pics of the actual cap uploaded to prove that the cap insignia that was uploaded is legit. The only true source of this information was their website www.chicoheat.com. But shortly after the team folded, the site was shut down. You best bet would be to try and find archives at the Chico Enterprise Record website at www.chicoer.com. That's the best I can do. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Reno Silver Sox (GBL Team), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Reno Silver Sox. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. August 2008

[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Reno Silver Sox a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is considered undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 15:04, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for letting me know. I just saw in a newspaper artcle that the Reno Silver Sox on the GBL are not the only team known as the "Silver Sox" There were four teams in the past with the same name starting in 1947 with the Sunset League. Just thought you'd like to know. (Ccwstandard (talk) 17:15, 11 August 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Reno Silver Sox (GBL Team). Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 17:20, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't disagree with it and am not disputing it. But thank you for letting me know. Ccwstandard (talk) 17:26, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:GBLSilverSoxLogo2.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:GBLSilverSoxLogo2.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:21, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Audrey Kuchen

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Audrey Kuchen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. chrylis (talk) 02:07, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:NBC5 Audrey Kuchen.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:NBC5 Audrey Kuchen.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 13:47, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Response: A copyright tag has been added to the image to solve the fair use issue and keep it from speedy deletion. The image belongs to both the person idenified and the company they work for. Ccwstandard (talk) 19:11, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This will not prevent the deletion of the image. We're aware who owns the image; please read what I wrote above. Stifle (talk) 14:42, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unless this is a free public domain image, it doesn't belong on wikipedia. If it is a copyrighted image, it would have to be released into the public domain to be usable. See WP:NON-FREE Asher196 (talk) 19:17, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Baseball logos and GFDL

[edit]

The baseball logos that you are uploading are clearly not GFDL. Please do not upload non-free images under free licenses- Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and a failure to do the same will result in you being blocked from editing. I am fixing any of your uploads that I come across, but images I do not fix will probably end up deleted. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page. J Milburn (talk) 17:46, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

At least I got someone's attention. What do I select to idenitify a copyrighted image since I can't seem to select anything? Ccwstandard (talk) 17:54, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Right, providing you are adding the images to an infobox, upload them with the following-
== Summary ==
{{logo fur
| Article = NAME OF ARTICLE
| Use = Infobox
<!-- ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -->
| Used for =
| Owner =
| Website = SOURCE URL
| History =
| Commentary =
<!--OVERRIDE FIELDS -->
| Description =
| Source =
| Portion =
| Low_resolution =
| Purpose           = <!--Must be specified if Use is not Infobox / Org / Brand / Product-->
| Replaceability =
| other_information =
}}

== Licensing ==
{{non-free logo}}

Replacing NAME OF ARTICLE with the exact name of the article (no Wikilinks)- for instance "London Monarchs (baseball)" and SOURCE URL with the URL of the page you found the logo- for example http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=1520 . This provides the licensing information and a detailed fair use rationale, but the fair use rationale only applies when you're placing the image into an infobox- for any other use, you need another rationale. For more information, see our guidelines on non-free content and a list of available copyright tags. If you have any questions, you're welcome to contact me on my talk page. J Milburn (talk) 18:02, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That works. I will keep this here and copy it to any future images I upload. Can you help finish the CBL logos? Thanks. Ccwstandard (talk) 18:04, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm getting the idea now of what to do with logos. Thank you for the explanation. Ccwstandard (talk) 18:20, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've been through your contributions and deleted a few images, and corrected the licensing information on a lot of them. Remember that the code above only applies to logos that are going to be put into an infobox, not any other sort of image. I'm afraid I have no knowledge of/interest in baseball, so I wouldn't be particularly useful helping out there. If you need some subject specific help, it may be best to ask over at WikiProject Baseball. J Milburn (talk) 18:24, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Mangas KRCR.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Mangas KRCR.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? J Milburn (talk) 18:06, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your uploads

[edit]

Good day. I see that you have uploaded a number of images to Wikipedia. First off, thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, there are some guidelines that we need to follow with copyrighted images. Specifically, you need to add a source for the image (a link to a website will do), a copyright tag (there are some listed at WP:ICT), and a rationale explaining why we can use a copyrighted image (explained at WP:NFURG). I see that your images fail to include one of these. Please stop uploading images and address the concerns listed above. If you need assistance, you can ask at the help desk. If you do not fix these images, and you continue to make bad uploads, you will be blocked and your images will be deleted. Thanks for your contributions! The 1997 Toros

[edit]

Hi. Thanks for all the good work you've done on the Toros-related articles. Just at the moment, however, you're adding a slight bit of misinformation, just as I'm trying to clarify things and improve the citations. Here's the problem: in early 1997, Rick Holtzman sold his interest in the Toros to Martin Stone, and Stone sold his interest in the Firebirds to Holtzman. (I'm sure it was more complicated than that, but you get the gist.) The 1997 Toros therefore had the same ownership the Firebirds had had, and were technically the same team. However, they were called the Toros, wore the Toros uniforms, and played at Hi Corbett. Most of the office staff including the GM came from the 1996 Toros club. The 1997 Media Guide was all about the Toros, not the Firebirds, even though the ownership thing happened at that time. That same year, the Holtzman-owned franchise, technically the ex-Toros, played at Scottsdale Stadium as the Firebirds for one last season. It wasn't until 1998 that the ex-Firebird Toros became the Sidewinders. It is therefore an oversimplification at best to say that the Toros became the Grizzlies. For most intents and purposes, it was the Toros that became the Sidewinders, and the Firebirds that became the Grizzlies. In 1997, as far as the ownership was concerned, the Firebirds were the Toros, and the Toros were the Firebirds!

I've spent a good bit of time trying to keep this straight on the various articles. Please don't undo my efforts. Thanks!--Karen | Talk | contribs 23:00, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't mean to undermine your efforts and I know how hard you are working to keep things straight. You can keep things straight by going to the AZBIZ.com website to attempt to set the record straight. That way you can see what kind of response you get. I apologize for interefering in your work if I did in any way. But apparently, some people don't agree with you. Ccwstandard (talk) 23:18, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, Hatfield basically has it right, as does the article. That's the trouble with the issue - it's both trivial and confusing. The first commenter is confusing Stone's 1997 purchase of the team with Zucker's later one, and doesn't remember where the Holtzman team went in 1998. The other commenter is reacting to the misinformation. The fact is that the 1997 team was called the Toros, and that was the team that moved into TEP and was eventually sold to Zucker. By the time the Holtzman-owned team moved to Fresno, they were the 1997 Firebirds. It is therefore inaccurate to say that the Toros became the Grizzlies, or that the Firebirds became the Sidewinders, because that wasn't the name each team had at the time of the move. If you mention it at all (and Hatfield thought it unnecessary to the article), then you need to say that the Toros became the Firebirds who became the Grizzlies, and the Firbirds became the Toros who became the Sidewinders. That said, the article you cite, with Hatfield's comment, is a good ref to use for this. Thanks! --Karen | Talk | contribs 23:37, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It is very confusing. Thanks for keeping things straight. I did get confused, didn't I? Now the Sidewinders are moving to Reno. Judging by the seperation of the articles and keeping them seperate, it leads me to believe that the Sidewinders franchise has dropped any connection with the Toros' history. My belief is that the Toros' leagcy and history may have been absorbed into the new Golden Baseball League franchise. Do you think that is the case? Ccwstandard (talk) 23:49, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm. I think maybe we'll have to wait and see what the Reno team does in their press materials. I suspect that Reno will mostly be interested in the Sidewinders, and it Reno baseball history. --Karen | Talk | contribs 01:36, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Karen, you should contact the Tucson Toros office and see if you can go to work for them. I saw your response at AZBiz.com and I'm sure they could use the help. What do you think? Do you live in Tucson and follow the history of pro baseball there? That would be something you could do for the Toros. Ccwstandard (talk) 07:26, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:OKCThunder.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

A tag has been placed on Alexander Field (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

–Dream out loud (talk) 02:22, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Southern Oregon RiverDogs

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Southern Oregon RiverDogs, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Southern Oregon RiverDogs

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Postoak (talk) 07:57, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Continental Championship Wrestling (Oregon), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

Wow! Thanks for the invitation. I appreciate it. I found out about it this week. Again, thank you so much for the invite. I will take it under consideration. Ccwstandard (talk) 02:49, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regina and Saskatoon

[edit]

Please don't add anything to the Regina and Saskatoon articles with reference to the Silver Sox. As much as whomever created the Saskatchewan Silver Sox page wants to believe there is no connection between the team and the province. In fact, this year's roster did not feature a single player from Saskatchewan on it. The small tagline I added to the Saskatoon article regarding the GBL was due to the Star-Phoenix article shortly after the Alberta clubs jumped to the league. Since then, there has been 0 talk in the media regarding pro baseball period. In fact, more has been written about Saskatoon getting an af2 team, an American Hockey League team and an International Basketball League team than has been written about the GBL. Ergo, until some development actually substantiates regarding this, I'd say its a dead issue as far as the province is concerned. I am well aware that Kevin Oucault (sp?) is interested in bringing the league here, but even he hasn't commented about it since 2007. Shootmaster 44 (talk) 11:12, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Someone else added that information to the Saskatchewan Silver Sox page, I didn't. Kevin Outcalt (current spelling) is still interested, I know. I made up the page after the team started, but I did not add that information you saw. Someone else did. So you should find out who did and tell them, too. NAFL teams up for deletion

Hey there, I noticed you made some additions to the Southern Oregon Renegades article I created and had made some other related edits. I posted Medford, Oregon, as a possible future site for a Golden Baseball League franchise, but someone took it down for, you guessed it, "lack of credibility and references". The best thing I can tell you is to look for more references, like newspaper articles online and stuff like that to add. Otherwise, your other articles will be deleted, no questions asked. But I'll do what I can. Ccwstandard (talk) 16:56, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Super Independent Baseball requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 00:50, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Super Independent Baseball, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 00:52, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Solano Thunderbirds requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Proposed deletion of NorBrock Stadium

[edit]

The article NorBrock Stadium has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not a remarkable place to feature in wikipedia in the context used. best if the article could be used within the team's article which will be using the named play field.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Freshymail-user_talk:fngosa--the-knowledge-defender 08:28, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It takes time for the article to be put together. The references and external links don't seem to be enough, I guess. Ccwstandard (talk) 09:24, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Southern Oregon RiverDogs a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. Thank you. tedder (talk) 06:19, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On second thought, I was going to move it to where you attempted (Southern Oregon RiverDawgs), but it's listed as the RiverDogs everywhere I've looked. If you have sources and need help with the move, come to my talk page. tedder (talk) 06:21, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I found out on their website that it is how it is spelled. I did the "cut and paste" move by design. Everything is proper now. Ccwstandard (talk) 09:23, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User:Katr67 found some more reliable sources that agree with the 'Dawgs' spelling. However, your second cut and paste move was still incorrect. Please don't cut and paste move articles again. It loses their edit history, which is why they shouldn't be moved that way. I cleaned it up, however. tedder (talk) 06:20, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Rogue Valley Coyotes has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per WP:CRYSTAL, upcoming sports team lacking reliable sources to establish notability. (google news search)

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

I know the owner of the proposed team and he has made it very clear that is working on getting his team ready by 2011. He is very critical of Wikipedia and does not want to have to post anything critical of this site. But a "speedy deletion" will result in his posting something. It's happened before. He and the team's website are the only sources I have. If you show just a little patience and time as things materialize, there will be more information and sources that will be added. Ccwstandard (talk) 22:47, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, tedder didn't tag this as a speedy deletion, he tagged it as a proposed deletion, which means that you have 5 days to work on the article. In any case, it doesn't really matter if the team's owner is critical of Wikipedia, and issuing threats is not going get you very far around here. tedder doesn't have anything personal against you or this team, the article at this point simply doesn't live up to Wikipedia standards. I'm sorry that the team's website is the only source you have (note that as silly as it sounds, you cannot use the team's owner as a source because that would be original research--I'd suggest he be interviewed by a reliable media outlet, then that could be used as a source), but we need to have multiple third-party reliable sources to establish notability. Rather than issue threats, please take a look at your options in our dispute resolution process if you feel you are being treated unfairly, though I note that most people who give a third opinion are likely to agree with him. Please click on the blue links in this post to read about Wikipedia policy and guidelines. Cheers, Katr67 (talk) 23:33, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In any case, Criticism of Wikipedia would be a good place to post the criticism- though threats don't really get you anywhere. tedder (talk) 23:37, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the input. Just to let you know, he apologizes for his outburst. Just had a bad day. We'll try and get something to you as soon as we can. Thank you for clearing up the confusion. Ccwstandard (talk) 09:04, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Greg Bicknell

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Greg Bicknell. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Greg Bicknell. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:05, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Ccwstandard! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 317 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Maiquel Alejo - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

The article Reno Silver Sox (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Dab page with only two articles; disambiguation is accomplished with hatnotes on both pages. Note: The pages were recently moved to Reno Silver Sox and Reno Silver Sox (Golden Baseball League) per my request at WP:RM.

—KuyaBriBriTalk 13:37, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Chico Heat Script Logo.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Chico Heat Script Logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 3 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Chico Heat cap.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:39, 19 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
