Welcome!

Hello, Cazza3012, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Simon De'ath, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Dylanfromthenorth (talk) 20:08, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Simon De'ath requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Dylanfromthenorth (talk) 20:08, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Good Article nomination

It's great to see that you're improving non-league football articles. Just wanted to point out though that Romsey Town F.C. as it stands is not likely to pass yet. It'll take some work before it reaches GA Class as it will need to tick all of these boxes: Wikipedia:Good article criteria. Thankfully it normally takes a while before a review starts so you still have some time to work on it (it took over 2 months for my nominated article to get reviewed). Examples of the structure, format and style required in a non-league football team article are here: Andover F.C. and Tow Law Town A.F.C.. As you see you will need at least 25 inline references to back up the info in the article. Other tips I'd give are:

  • Make the lead a summary of everything in the article
  • Add a section on the club's ground and past grounds
  • Add a section on the kit and badge
  • Add a section on the club's supporters

If you need any help in how to reference or anything just ask on my talk page, I'll try and get back to you. If you'd like a detailed review of the quality of the article it may be a good idea to put it through WP:Peer Review. Things get reviewed quicker here ind it's a good source of tips. Cheers! Your GA nomination of Romsey Town F.C.

The article Romsey Town F.C. you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Romsey Town F.C. for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Brad78 (talk) 01:47, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Johan Hammar, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Defender (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to 2013 Fujieda MYFC season may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Wessex League

I was going to do the league article at some point soon, but I'll leave it for you to do if you like. And yes, Andover Town F.C. will need to be created too – thanks in advance for doing that. Cheers, Bretonbanquet (talk) 08:36, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

Good work! I might be able to fill out the Andover article a little bit when I get time, and the results sections for the season article aren't too important just yet. Someone else might do them, or I'll add them before the season starts. Bretonbanquet (talk) 10:58, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

TemplateData is here

Hey Cazza3012

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

File permission problem with File:Andy Cook 2013.png

Thanks for uploading File:Andy Cook 2013.png, which you've attributed to Instagram. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 15:55, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

Notable Players

Hi Cazza, Saw you added some criteria, but I have reverted as I do not think they are particularly clear, or useful. By having the criteria that a player has to have played in a full professional league somewhere at some time adds little. Essentially, any player who played one minute of FPL football would qualify for this list and therefore such a list is useless as a link to the Fujieda MYFC player category would be more complete. If you are going to have such a list, then I woud advise that it needs to be much clearer why specific players are being called out as especially notable for a club. I woudl advise revising to have criteria such as played more than x games / scored more than x goals for the club (though the other criteria you added are fine). Gerónimo Rulli

He's been loaned by Estudiantes de la plata, therefore saying he's been loaned by deportivo maldonado, as edit did is wrong. The source you removed is pretty dubious and I admit that the whole situation is unclear. But what we know is that: The player is under contract with Estudiantes, on loan at Real Sociedad and Deportivo Maldonado own his rights. This is what the article should state. Kind regards. You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Your draft article, Draft:Michael Felgate

Hello, Cazza3012. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Michael Felgate".

Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Brian Howard

Hello, and thanks for your note. What I've done with the Brian Howard article is added another bit to the sentence about Alresford, to give his apps/goals for all competitions and for league only, ref'd to the FA Full Time player season totals page for that club in 2015/16, which (I think) is a stable link. It comes up initially with stats for league and cup combined, you have to click on League Only to get just the league stats, which is what should go in the infobox. And then ref'd the sentence about joining Romsey to the corresponding FA Full Time page for Romsey 2016/17. And then put the league-only stats in the infobox, and updated the correct-as-of date |club-update= to now. Hope that's OK.

Thanks for reminding me about FA Full Time: I've used it before, but because I don't work regularly with lower-league player stats, it slips my mind. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 14:29, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Cazza3012. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

How many have you created, both in main space and in your sandboxes? Any 'duplicates' should be merged, to retain the history. GiantSnowman 09:21, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

ConIFA 2018 - Haringey

I've added the details, although there is no separate article for Coles Park, so I have had to link directly to the Haringey Borough article. If you think you can get away with writing an article for Coles Park that meets the criteria for Wikipedia, please make sure you add it to the WFC article Hammersfan (talk) 10:48, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to Itchen College appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. No Wiki article for Jono Holmes. Tacyarg (talk) 00:13, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
