Keen Mountain Correctional Center inmates.

Cassiopeia, When I made an edit to the list of inmates at Keen Mountain Correctional Center, I utilized the inmate locator page at the website of the Virginia Department of Corrections.

https://vadoc.virginia.gov/general-public/inmate-locator/

I cannot provide a direct link to each of the following query returns, but if you were to enter in the respective data below, you will see that:

a) Christopher Bryan Speight (inmate id #1471716) is presently incarcerated at River North Correctional Center.

b) Inmate George Wesley Huguely (inmate id # 1458946) is presently incarcerated at Beaumont Correctional Center.

c) Inmate Lee Boyd Malvo (inmate id #1180834) is presently incarcerated at Keen Mountain Correctional Center.

Based on the findings from the inmate locator, I removed inmates Speight and Huguely from the table of notable inmates at Keen Mountain and added Malvo.

Here is further verification concerning the recent relocation of inmate Lee Boyd Malvo from Red Onion State Prison to Keen Mountain Correctional Center.

Northern Rivers removal.

Hello, I'd like to ask that if you don't live in/have lived in the Northern Rivers that you don't remove others who do live there's work. I will be adding a source now, but don't remove it again, thanks. 180.216.19.238 (talk) 07:14, 13 September 2024 (UTC) Northern Rivers

180.216.19.238 Good day. Any content that unsourced can be removed from Wikipedai. Wikipedia content added/changed needs to be supported by independent, reliable source such as from major newspapers or books (such as from Australia newspapers - Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian, ABC News (Australia), The Advertiser (Adelaide), The Age, The Australian, Australian Financial Review) for verification is the core policy of Wikipedia. Cassiopeia talk 08:43, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
Hello,
The Australian and The Advertiser are not national large newspapers.
You are not a wikipedia appointed Administrator or Moderator.
Please back out of this.
Thanks. 180.216.19.238 (talk) 08:55, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
Both of us are editors here and pls note that The Australian and The Advertiser both are listed as reliable source in Wikipedia even if they are not large newspapers. Cassiopeia talk 08:59, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
Hello again,
Correction: Please.
I'm pointing out you have no authority here. 180.216.19.238 (talk) 09:42, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
I am informing you that to edit Wikipedia, the editor needs to adhere to the Wikipedia guidelines, if you wish to add "The Northern Rivers maintains a large population of conspiracy theorists, commonly called Cookers, which references the saying that conspiracy theorists are "cooked in the head". Many disinformation newspapers are distributed through the region, such as The Light Australia." under the Demography and area in Northern Rivers article and do not wish to comply to Wikipedia guidelines and policy then you might want to do that in social media or your in own blog. Explain

https://www.instagram.com/p/DAE625apT_7/

This is First Round Management's official Instagram and it's verified. It reports a new fight. In your opinion, it's not good because it's social media. But it's from the official agency's page.

Usually, an mma website just puts a link to the Instagram post and "reports" it. And that's okay? They are reporting the same source.

Same with Marcel Dorff. He is a reputable journalist and his reports on social media have never been wrong. Why do you consider it not reliable when all mma websites do is use his tweets as the source.

Finally, for UFC fight cards, they use the official UFC events page to update the pages. Why is this allowed.

Why is the same not allowed for the ESPN MMA page. They are the official source of the bouts. They are not reporting other information but the name of the fighters on the bouts.

You have replied to my posts but they are hard to understand because English is not your first language.

I know a third party source is more reliable but if the journalist themselves is reliable and are often used for mma pages, why is it not acceptable.

That Chinese website has been reporting mma for over a decade. Why do you get the final say on why that's reliable or not. FYI another editor put the link on the page. Not me. I just added it to list of current fighters.

Please double check your reply to me (maybe use Chat GPT) so that it makes sense because your replies are difficult to understand. Thank you Marty2Hotty (talk) 05:00, 21 September 2024 (UTC)

I've used reliable sources but you have not explained well enough why the Chinese source is not reliable. They are not only promoting their fighters but they are reporting many organizations.
You have not explained why ESPN is not reliable for when they are just reporting bouts. It's nothing controversial or subjective but fights. Why is the UFC page allowed to be used as the real source for the UFC fight night pages when listing the fight card. This is official information that end up being reported by the media anyways.
And i didn't use X on the previous edit. I used the Chinese source that another editor used. I added the X information on the edit information but you didn't seem to realize that. It was just an extra note of information for mma editors to see. They can see the link and notice that it was reported by the actual agency that manages the fighter "on top" of the actual source I used on the article
Please translate the above to one of the 4 languages you know so you do not get confused.
I have stated to you that many of the mma sites just report what a Marcel posts on social media or what a fighter posts for their fight news.
I feel that we can practice judgment on who is trusted and who isn't. With that said, I do not use X for UFC posts.
Again, explain why ESPN's official site for bouts on a UFC card cannot be used when the UFC fight card uses the UFC page.
What makes you the authority on deciding if the Chinese website is reputable.
Please rewrite the "primary source" sherdog paragraph with chat GPT because it's not understandable. I don't know Irlen Syndrome but I hope it doesn't affect your life too much
Sherdog posts fights. Are you saying if we do not have a source but sherdog uses it, we have to use the talk page to request it to be added? Marty2Hotty (talk) 10:20, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
Marty2Hotty Good day. I have explained to you MANY times and also sent you the guidelines links for MORE than a year but I dont think you read them as you continue to edit the way you have been using not reliable source. English is not my mother tongue and having Irlen syndrome doesnt help. I know 4 languages and 4 dialects but master of none. I said many times to you that social media sites are considered not reliable and/or independent sources. If you dont understand what I say due to my command of English, you can always come ask me to explain which you hardy have done so.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and shouldn't act as a platform for breaking news unless there are independent, trustworthy sources to back the information. Sources should be evaluated based on the site’s reputation for fact-checking, not just the journalist writing the article. "Beware of sources that sound reliable but do not have the reputation for fact-checking and accuracy that this guideline requires. The Journal of 100% Reliable Factual Information might have a reputation for "predatory" behavior, which includes questionable business practices and/or peer-review processes that raise concerns about the reliability of their journal articles"
Chinese MMA-related sites: If they openly state that their mission is to "promote" fighters or the sport, then they fall under promotional content and aren't considered true journalism for such the source is not reliable.
ESPN: Though reliable, ESPN's close contractual relationship with UFC makes it a non-independent source for UFC-related content during their active contract period. After the contract expires, ESPN may become more independent.
Marcel's is often right but not always as some of his reports is derived from other fighter management companies and not media sites.
Primary source can be used sparing if the info is directly indicate the subject but it can not be used as the contribution to the GNG guidelines when creating a page. That is the reason why certain "extremely small amount of info" is derived from the primary source for the subject. If you want to change the fight card source from UFC to Sherdog (since we use Sherdog as the source for fight methods), then pls go to MMA project page and raise the vote/request.
I understand you might not agree with the the Wikipedia guidelines but as Wikipedia editors, we adhere to the guidelines. If not why are we here for? We can always create our own blog or webpage to write what we want as how we see fit. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk

UFC

Hello Cassiopeia I was wondering if the fighters Joshua Van, Joanderson Brito, Raul Rosas jr. and Alessandro Costa have reached enough nobility to have Wikipedia’s made for them. NorixNGU (talk) 05:23, 23 September 2024 (UTC)

NorixNGU Good day. To meet the notability guidelines for a subject to have a page in Wikipedia, the subject needs to pass WP:GNG guidelines or WP:NMMA. At the present, none of them meet the criteria yet. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 06:19, 26 September 2024 (UTC)

Ilia Topuria

One editor wants to change his nationality from Georgia to Spanish and had many reasons. He listed it on his edit summary and on my talk page. I told him to ask you.

Also: Cong Wang will fight at UFC Macau. That Chinese source was right and is a reliable one as it has been around for 15 years, just to let you know. Also, as you may already know, the link was shared by autoupdateposter initially. Marty2Hotty (talk) 07:09, 26 September 2024 (UTC)

Also Mauricio Ruffy is out of UFC 307 as per Nolan King's X. He works for mmajunkie. This should be good enough to add on the page. There is no real difference between using the post vs having a website use his post as a reference, right? ESPN also removed him from the card Marty2Hotty (talk) 12:22, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
Marty2Hotty Good day.I just wanted to clarify that it's not about how long a source has been around, but rather whether fact-checking processes are in place. Regarding the Cong Wang bout, it has been officially announced by MMA Fighting. You can view it here:- [9].
Please note that social media sources are considered user-generated content, so they aren't typically deemed reliable or independent. When we refer to a source, we're talking about established media or publishers, not individuals on social media. So as for Maurício Ruffy, the information should be published in the usual sources and we will wait for that. Regarding Ilia Topuria, I’ll wait to hear back from the editor so I can address the nature of the issue and discuss it further.
Thank you for asking about my health. I am very healthy and fit and Iren syndrome is a visual issues and doest not impact my mental capacity (done a IQ test and I got the score of 128). - see here to understand how i see things if you are interested - [10] and luckily I have a mild case :). Thank you Marty, and enjoy the Paris card tmrw. Cassiopeia talk
It is difficult to communicate with you at times, because you seem to have trouble understanding the reason for comments. My point was the Chinese source was correct before MMAFighting announced it. The source is a reliable Chinese source but you are not familiar with it, so you said it was not reliable. My point is: the Mingyang vs Diaz and Wang Cong fight did end up being announced, and the source was reliable, but you did not comment on it.
Also, social media sources are from official sources as well. Many are official and verified. Your point about ESPN makes zero sense, because we are taking UFC Event bout orders straight from the ufc.com/events page. So, why is it not okay to take the bouts from the ESPN page? Keep in mind that once they are announced officially by the UFC, all the media does is "report" it and use the official sources as the main reason for the reporting. I have yet to receive a response to this.
Regarding Topuria, see the history of list of current fighters. I undid his edit, but he has his reasoning for putting Spanish.
As for your health and visual issues, please be careful when editing on Wikipedia because you occasionally have typos or spacing problems on fighter pages and the "list of current ufc fighters" page. Please double check the formatting before publishing. ThanksMarty2Hotty (talk) 23:52, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
Marty2Hotty Again, I no health issue (very healthy and fit) and edit with typos or extra spacing is not a problem in Wikipedia nor violate any Wikipedia guidelines. Many editors actively engage in copy editing, focusing on grammar, punctuation, and formatting issues. It's a normal part of the collaborative editing process, and other editors will correct these issues if needed.
I understood your comments as always; however, you need to see the view point from Wikipedia guidelines. When working on Wikipedia, it's essential to strictly adhere to Wikipedia's guidelines and policies, regardless of personal views or common sense consideration.
Source Reliability and Fact-Checking: It does not matter if a source (Source A) published the information first and publishes correct information correctly don’t inherently make it reliable. What’s important is whether a robust fact-checking process is in place which I have mentioned to you many times. Reliability is not based solely on the accuracy of a single piece of information but on the consistency and process behind verifying facts. If a source "about us" page stating they "promote xxxx" that will be not a reliable source as the ethics and standards of journalism/source operates under a set of ethical guidelines that emphasize truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity, impartiality, fairness, and public accountability. A primary source, like the UFC in this case, is not independent. While it may provide firsthand information, it may not have an objective fact-checking process, making it unreliable for citation in contexts like Wikipedia. ESPN’s connection with UFC could also compromise its independence, which further affects its reliability for UFC-related information.
Wikipedia requires independent, reliable secondary sources. Primary sources or those not independent (like those connected to the subject) are less preferred, even though these might be allowed in other contexts (like a college paper). I can explain to you the distinction between independent & reliable, not independent & reliable, independent & not reliable, and not independent & not reliable sources, primary source, secondary source, tertiary source and verifiability to you in length but it can be complicated, especially if you are you college student for it can be confusing because academic papers often allow primary sources, while Wikipedia focuses on secondary, independent sources. Just remember Wikipedia prioritizes the first category (independent and reliable) for verifying content which is the Wikipedia core policy and not accordingly to us what considered common sense or right things to do (example: If a subject has 4 sons but we can only find independent, reliable sources stating he has 2 sons, we will put 2 sons in the article - which might not make any common sense to anyone but this is Wikipedia verification policy).
On Topuria's Article: The article mentions both Georgian and Spanish in the lead section. I will wait for the editor to contact me. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 00:30, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
Thanks but you didn't really answer why UFC events page is fine for updating the article and why the ESPN page bout info doesn't count. They both are official sources and we are following the UFC events page but the ESPN one has updates as well
It doesn't matter but to me the logic makes no sense.
Finally, Renato Moicano does go by "Money". You say we follow Sherdog for nicknames but for Moicano, we can use a ton of third party sources that indicate the nickname. If you refuse to put it in the nickname section, it should be put on the article somewhere with sources. Marty2Hotty (talk) 03:41, 29 September 2024 (UTC)

Question from Ramirezcarriloluisdavid (01:27, 27 September 2024)

como salvaguardar codificadamente contenidos certificados --Ramirezcarriloluisdavid (talk) 01:27, 27 September 2024 (UTC

RamirezcarriloluisdavidGood day. Based on the translation, I understand you're asking about "how to encrypt certified content." Please note that Wikipedia is a platform where anyone can contribute and edit articles, provided they adhere to Wikipedia's guidelines. There is no encryption in place for any Wikipedia article, as the platform promotes open collaboration. However, if a page is frequently vandalized, we can request that the page be protected. A protected page limits who can edit it, often restricting it to more experienced editors for a certain period of time to prevent further vandalism.
Please move your user page content to the draft space, as it appears you are working on an article. You can find more information on how to do so HERE. Drafts are ideal for articles that are still being developed or need further review before publication. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask! Please communicate in English, as this is the language used for editing and discussing topics on English Wikipedia. I'm here to assist you. Stay safe and best.
