Message to Caribbean H.Q.
Why is the current "Puerto Rico" entry lacking in a brief summary that exposes the fact that 99.9% of the ballot-casting population of Puerto Rico has rejected the current commonwealth status (as now defined by the U.S. House of Representatives and the President-endorsed Task Force Report on the Political Status of Puerto Rico? It seems that this is very important and I believe it should be included in the first paragraph since it is so essential for a basic understanding about Puerto Rico.
Best,

I would like to pay a small tribute in this edition to Tony "the Marine". Editing since May 24, 2004, he has been one of our project's most active editors and has become one of Wikipedia's most recognized writers. He has authored over 400 articles, including 4 Featured Articles, 1 Featured List, 10 Good Articles, and 28 DYKs. His name has appeared in newspapers and magazines and has been mentioned by politicians and artists. He has brought Puerto Rico's history and its people to the web. He has shown the world that Puerto Ricans have done much more than just be gangsters and drug dealers. He has shown the world that we have contributed to history and the world just as much as any other group of people. On September 29, 2007, Tony announced that we would not be writing for Wikipedia anymore. We, the members of this project, are sad that he will not be able to continue to spread the word of Hispanics' contributions here on the web, but I, for one, feel honored that he has entrusted us with the duty of continuing and improving his excellent work. Tony, rest assured that your contributions, your wisdom, and the help you provided to all of us when we were new users will be remembered for generations. Que Dios te bendiga, Tony, y que tu recompensa sea grande en el Reino de los Cielos. Viva Puerto Rico libre. —Agüeybaná 16:52, 30 September 2007 (UTC) |

Updates
OK, some updates that you need to know about:
- Mr. Richardson should not have his block length reduced. He is unrepentant, and if it was shortened he would pull the exact same stunts when it expired.
- The Brazil dispute has reached a successful compromise without anyone getting blocked in spite of most of the participants, and not because of them.
- WP:PW is talking about reopening the Collaboration of the week at WPT:PW#Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Collaboration of the week.
Alright, that should be all of them. These all seemed like things that would interest you, so there you go :). Cheers, The Hybrid 02:06, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry to hear that, I guess its his choice. Glad to hear that, the Brazil article has been quite hot lately. I will go there in a few minutes, its about time. Thanks :) - Caribbean~H.Q. 02:27, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
RE:Future candidates
Well, sources can't be that hard to find, considering they were some of the most important figures in politics in Puerto Rico. Good catch; will work on them soon. --Agüeybaná 20:19, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
- I've referenced Luis Muñoz Marín heavily, but it still needs some work. I prefer this image for the article (even the Encyclopedia Britannica uses it). What do you think? --Agüeybaná 22:22, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Miami Vice Synopsis
Wasn't sure if you saw but I changed your edit back to the way it was. The sentence you changed had to do with the false ID's used by Crockett and Tubbs in the movie. They are, indeed, "Sonny Burnett" and "Rico Cooper". It was a simple mistake on your part. Just wanted to let you know that I changed it back to the way it was so that there is no misunderstanding. Take care, brother. :) TabascoMan77 00:04, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Mi RfA
Gracias por tu apoyo! You three, including Agueybana and Tony, formed the centerpoint of my RfA, since I work with you guys on a daily basis and know me best. Like I've said before, I was humbled by the list of supporters, which has certainly set the bar very high. Hopefully, I can count on all of you for counsel and support when the going gets rough. I'm planning to dedicate time to WP:RFD and WP:AFD, and plan on letting AIV and vandalism to you (you're the expert!) Thanks again!! - Mtmelendez (Talk|UB|Home) 10:33, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Help
I really want to become an administrator/sysop how can I do it and am i on the right track? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shawnpoo (talk • contribs) 04:02, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- Huh? I'm sorry your edit pattern is unknown to me, about the formal process you should see WP:RFA. - Caribbean~H.Q. 04:08, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
What's up?
You're an administrator now? I just found out, great job! I noticed when you deleted that copy/vio image of Ken Masters. BTW, have you noticed the likely sockpuppetry going on in the DBZ-related pages? See Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Peter Vogel for further information, I'm about to add another interesting update there as well. Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 06:52, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, I will check the case when I log in tommorow so a good research can be done, got to sleep now its almost 3:00 am here, cheers. - Caribbean~H.Q. 06:55, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- It appears the disruptive TimySmidge (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) has left us. Can you delete his pages since he won't work on them:
- User:TimySmidge/Son Goten
- User:TimySmidge/Trunks (Dragon Ball)
- User:TimySmidge/Vegeta
- User:TimySmidge/Son Gohan
- User:TimySmidge/Son Goku (Dragon Ball)
- User:TimySmidge/Cell (Dragon Ball)
- User:TimySmidge/Future Trunks
- User:TimySmidge/Freeza
- And take a look at Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Sesshomaru. Nothing ties me to sockpuppetry, maybe you should delete this as a bad faith case? If you notice, he created some user accounts here, perhaps they too should be blocked. Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 02:51, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- I closed the case, the pages should be taken to micellany for deletion to dispose of them since they were apparently not used disruptively yet and if he is gone there is no real need for speedy deletion. The accounts have been blocked, I will check for any remaining. - Caribbean~H.Q. 03:08, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry to go over your head, but I've re-deleted all those pages and extended the block to indefinite. Timy has been a borderline problem editor from the get go, and I can only assume good faith for so long. EVula // talk // ☯ // 05:43, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi. Carlos Eduardo Martins Pinheiro has magically appeared again, this time courtesy of User:Grolex, which I am going to be bold and assume is a sockpuppet, since he was able to come up with the same picture and article text. I have added {{db-bio}} as a matter of course, but I believe some advanced administrator fu is called for here. - CosmicPenguin (Talk) 16:09, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
- I blocked this and other block evading socks as well as deleting the material uploaded again, the main account's block was extended to indef, if he persists he should be officially banned. - Caribbean~H.Q. 21:16, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi - as this account was a returning sock I have tweaked the block to indefinite. Please feel free to revert me if you don't agree. Cheers, ELIMINATORJR 21:02, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Category removal at Jose Juan Barea page
Just pasing through... I actually think Downwards is correct here. Category:Puerto Rican basketball players is a subcat of Category:Puerto Rican sportspeople. You only need to keep the more specific one, which is the first. IMO. Zagalejo^^^ 22:51, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Potential sockpuppet
Hello again. I have a strong suspicion that user Masta P (talk · contribs) may be a sock account of blocked user EverybodyHatesChris (talk · contribs). The contributions between the two are almost identical, and their editing style is the same. This is not the first sock the user has made. Just recently, five accounts they made were blocked (BirthdayBank (talk · contribs), Solidpilot (talk · contribs), HeheFunny (talk · contribs), Lormos (talk · contribs) and ByeNow (talk · contribs)) and many have been blocked prior to this. Could I ask you to investigate this claim please? Thank you. - Deep Shadow 10:17, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'll look into it. - Caribbean~H.Q. 19:54, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, I still have to compare the contributions of the two accounts with those of the blocked sockpuppet, but with what has been examined so far they do appear to be the same user, based most notably on the focus of their edits and the signs of uncivility and ownership both of them used on edit summaries, they also have almost identical edits on occasion such as [1] and [2]. - Caribbean~H.Q. 20:13, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- Ok I have blocked the user after comparing the edit of his and the main puppeter account to those of the blocked socks, the edit pattern they pocess is almost indentical with both of them sharing edits to Everybody Hates Chris, Whoopi Goldberg and Yahoo! Answers. - Caribbean~H.Q. 20:28, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking the time to investigate. :) - Deep Shadow 03:52, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Manipulation of WP
I read an article in the newspaper about manipulation of Wikipedia a few months ago. A few days ago, I saw a message board about someone banned from WP by a moderator just because he didn't like what was said (even though other message board contributors failed to see anything bad about the edit).
I just came across an article about an American presidential candidates Hillary Rodham Clinton being one of them. The moderator there is bullying others and striking out comments. He claims socks but this is just an excuse for eliminating any discussion. As far as the comments that he objects to, they are nothing radical.
In fact, I just put a suggestion there and I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to eliminate me. If so, you should make the correction to the Prentice Position article. It has a major error. MD12752 04:19, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Huh? I'm not sure what you are getting at, can this be explained further? - Caribbean~H.Q. 07:13, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

this message is for Dark_Dragon_Flame. Hey there -- I just found out about the wikipedia adoption program, and I'm very interested. FL Main page proposal
You either nominated a WP:FLC or closed such a nomination recently. As such, you are the type of editor whose opinion I am soliciting. We now have over 400 featured lists and seem to be promoting in excess of 30 per month of late (41 in August and 42 in September). When Today's featured article (TFA) started (2004-02-22), they only had about 200 featured articles and were barely promoting 20 new ones per month. I think the quality of featured lists is at least as good as the quality of featured articles was when they started appearing on the main page. Thus, I am ready to open debate on a proposal to institute a List of the Day on the main page with nominations starting November 1 2007, voting starting December 1 2007 and main page appearances starting January 1 2008. For brevity, the proposal page does not discuss the details of eventual main page content, but since the work has already been done, you should consider this proposal assuming the eventual content will resemble the current content at the featured content page. Such output would probably start at the bottom of the main page. The proposal page does not debate whether starting with weekly list main page entries would be better than daily entries. However, I suspect persons in favor of weekly lists are really voicing opinions against lists on the main page since neither TFA nor Picture of the day started as weekly endeavors, to the best of my knowledge. See the List of the Day proposal and comment at WP:LOTDP and its talk page.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 19:48, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Yay; from one Spartan to another; by the time that I'm done, I'll probably be seeing MJOLNIR battle armor in my sleep (not that that's a bad thing :)). I'll try to get to it in the next few days; however, for now, I've blanked that section as a means of purging the offending copyvio text from the edit window. I just don't want any text to linger and possibly be shuffled around; I've already seen people be on the business end of a case where copyvio text went unnoticed until a few days into an FAC nomination, so better to be safe than sorry. I will see what I can do soon, though. — TKD::Talk 04:37, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
- I've tried to copyedit the first part of the article. I took the liberty of re-arranging the lead, too. — TKD::Talk 19:05, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- The other thing that pops up in my mind — and I'm not sure that a reliable source for this could be found, but it'd be cool if it could — is whether the inclusion of the "Hayabusa" armor in Halo 3 is an extension of this initial collaboration. — TKD::Talk 19:29, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- I've finished copyediting for now. In my book, it's very close to GA. — TKD::Talk 03:22, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Likely sock
First there was a Peter Vogel, now there's a Goku Vogel (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log). This user edits the same pages the former did. Look at the history pages of: Son Goku (Dragon Ball), Dragon Ball (franchise), and Sean Schemmel. Is this an obvious sock that should be blocked? Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 08:29, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
- This is beyond obvious, the edit pattern, the username, the fact that it was created shortly after Peter was blocked you choose your reason. - Caribbean~H.Q. 08:42, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Disruptive editor/possible sock
Mcelite (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) is another possible sock of Vogel or someone else, see his log and notice the copies of images he uploaded for no reason (he even named himself as "the copyright holder" in one of the copies). Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 06:33, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if he is a sockpuppet or not, I will give him a warning for claiming fraudulent licence and delete the material. - Caribbean~H.Q. 06:36, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- Ken shoryuken (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log), I'm sure you remember this one from here? Turns out out this user also claims to be a copyright holder of several photographs, see his log. Also, how long will it take for the Peter Vogel case to close? I think he's using more socks, but no suspects at this time? Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 18:35, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

- The Dragon Ball related ones were deleted, the ones remaining are of buildings and appear self-made. - Caribbean~H.Q. 17:09, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- So you're saying its ok to call oneself a copyright holder if its a building? See Image:Coep.jpg, Image:Coep it.jpg and Image:VJTI.JPG. Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 18:35, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- If someone takes the picture that person holds the copyright for it, this doesn't apply if its a screenshot of a copyrighted movie or television program but there are no problems with buildings as far as I know. - Caribbean~H.Q. 20:22, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Shared IP address
Please be aware that FlubClub (talk · contribs) and any related sockpuppets have nothing to do with me. I was automatically blocked yesterday, apparently because I have a shared IP address, and after being unblocked I edited the page at User:194.72.162.199 to read "194.72.162.199 is a shared IP address." Despite that, I was automatically re-blocked again just now. If this goes on, is there someone I can complain to, please? Xn4 12:56, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Well based on your contributions it seems quite obvious that you are in no way related to the EverybodyHatesChris sockpuppetry, are you saying that you were autoblocked for a second time after the block was lifted? - Caribbean~H.Q. 16:46, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, indeed. If you look under Second request on my Talk page, you'll see I was unblocked a second time by SQL at 12:49 (UTC) today. Xn4 16:57, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- I see, this shouldn't have happened it must have been a glitch in the system since no other autoblock appears to have been imposed on this address, if this happeans again today or becomes a frecuent problem you should just try to post it directly on WP:AN. - Caribbean~H.Q. 17:06, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know your reason for saying "no other autoblock appears to have been imposed on this address". At about 12:40 (UTC) today I found I had been blocked a second time when I got a message on screen to tell me so when I was trying to edit a page. I also found a second message on my Talk page (identical to the one yesterday) to tell me so. I find it a real oddity of the system that the placing of those messages on my Talk page doesn't show up in the page's edit history. Xn4 18:55, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- I've explained the autoblock in a little more detail over at Xn4's talk. I've also got that user's talkpage on my watchlist, I'll do my best to keep an eye out. SQL(Query Me!) 19:15, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- At my Talk page SQL has said - "If someone else is using the same IP as you... and they get blocked, and the blocking admin leaves the Autoblock enabled, anyone else from the same IP will get blocked as well." So if the FlubClub (talk · contribs) family offends again, would you please disable the Autoblock? Thank you. Xn4 19:20, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, though FlubClub will not edit again since he is a sockpuppet of a indef blocked user. - Caribbean~H.Q. 20:20, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- I notice FlubClub denied being a sockpuppet on his user page, writing "How can I prove I'm not this Chris person that the blocker seems to think I am? I'm really surprised that someone can just be blocked because someone thinks you're someone else!" This was then deleted by John Reaves, who protected the page. It seems very odd to me that FlubClub is not allowed to speak for himself. I have no idea whether FlubClub is related to EverybodyHatesChris, but I've looked at about twenty of FlubClub's contributions at random and they all seem inoffensive. Perhaps I'm missing something, but what is the connection between FlubClub and EverybodyHatesChris? Xn4 03:31, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
I Have Returned/Tourettes Guy
Hey, remember me?! I had to take a hiatus due to lack of internet access, sorry. But I am back! Thanks for editing the Martyr A.D. page for me. Now for my next page. Tourettes Guy. He can be seen on Youtube and once had his own website. His real name was Danny something. He has a kind of cult following but I'm not sure if its big enough for a wiki page. Great job so far digging up sources for the reception of the Halo characters- it's somewhat hard to try and source Cortana, Arbiter, and 343 Guilty Spark all by my lonesome! :) David Fuchs (talk) 15:57, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Potential Adoptee?
IF you can find time in your possibly busy schedule to adopt me, that would be great! I'm new here (though I've always supported Wikipedia since I was old enough to know what its all about.), but I can learn fast with some help, and I'm young enough (freshmen in high school) that the internet doesn't totally catch me off guard. If you wish to adopt me or ask any questions, please leave a message on my talk page (I'm probably not gonna check back here for an answer, so for a guaranteed answer, message me and I'll message back here). My edit count is low, but I've got a bit under my belt and my understanding of the editing code is little, but its strong. Please adopt me ^_^ Leonard^Bloom 03:27, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Flag of Puerto Rico
We need a verifiable source which will tell us what is the exact shade of blue in the current flag of PR. There has been a lot of reverting going to that respect in the article Flag of Puerto Rico. Tony the Marine 02:07, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

BLP and Miguel Corto
It is entirely proper to protect a page to prevent BLP-violating material from being added. Note that "it is not our job to be sensationalist, or to be the primary vehicle for the spread of titillating claims about people's lives." (From WP:BLP. That Corto fathered a child with another woman is irrelevant to his notability, and does not belong in the article, unless persuasive reasoning to the contrary can be found. Re-adding the material is a violation of BLP, and protection is in order to prevent it from being re-added. Phil Sandifer 21:44, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- The protection was out of order, the material was sourced so it complies with BLP, removal of it should be discussed. Now back to the protection you placed, it was completely unnessesary, not only was the material sourced but there was nothing close to a edit war in there, as I said before it can easily be perceived a triying to prove a point, not to mention the course of action wich was completely improper and a complete misuse of sysop tools, I can even see you trying to pull out this stunt against a non-admin. - Caribbean~H.Q. 21:51, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Shared IP address (cont.)
You wrote at 20:20 (UTC) on 18 October 2007 "Sure, though FlubClub will not edit again since he is a sockpuppet of a indef blocked user." However, I notice FlubClub denied being a sockpuppet on his user page, writing "How can I prove I'm not this Chris person that the blocker seems to think I am? I'm really surprised that someone can just be blocked because someone thinks you're someone else!" This comment was then deleted by John Reaves, who protected that page. It seems very odd to me that FlubClub is not allowed to speak for himself. I have no idea whether FlubClub is related to EverybodyHatesChris, but I've looked at about twenty of FlubClub's contributions at random and they all seem inoffensive. Perhaps I'm missing something, but can you please say what definite connection there is between FlubClub and EverybodyHatesChris, other than their having a shared IP address? I ask because it seems I share the same IP address, and I'd like to think people aren't blocked without a good reason. Xn4 17:44, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't know his talk page was protected and will unprotected, it should be noted however that the mayority of EHC's sockpuppets aren't disrup tive and they are blocked just for the fact of being alternate accounts of a banned/blocked user, I explained the reasoning why this account seems to be compromised, [4] and I quote: "I blocked following a strong suspicion that the account has been compromised, this account was actually created before EverybodyHatesChris and edited in December 2006 for the last time before its current comeback, now the reasoning for my suspicion is the following, as can be seen on Judge Judy's history [5] for the last weeks EHC has been using the exact same editing pattern via several sock accounts, on October 15 I blocked Maleman19 a self confessed sock account, this account's last action was to threaten to "come back under another name in a few hours ". Then after just fours hours of the block on Maleman19, FlubClub decided to come out of its year-long retirement and continue the exact same pattern previously present in EHC's sockpuppet accounts, not that I won't consider unblocking if evidence against it is presented but the chances of a account coming out of a retirement this long to continue a edit pattern presented by sockpuppet accounts of another user just appear to be very slim. - Caribbean~H.Q. 22:37, 18 October 2007 (UTC)" now Yamla was attending this account's unblock request and so far hasn't unblocked the account, I am assuming because the situation is strongly suspicious. Regardless of the fact that the account block hasn't been lifted by me or other admin I will unprotect the account's talk page. - Caribbean~H.Q. 19:38, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- You make it sound quite likely that there was a connection between FlubClub and Maleman19, though I don't at the moment see the connection with EverybodyHatesChris (who seems to have been named after the show Everybody Hates Chris). I notice that FlubClub added the {{helpme}} template to his/her Talk page shortly before the page was protected, and that was part of what John Reaves removed from the page as he was protecting it. Is that standard practice? Xn4 02:58, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- Maleman19 is a self confessed sockpuppet of EHC, I don't think that removing the help template and protecting the page was appropiate nor is it standard practice but only he knows why he did it, I did unprotec her talk page and informed her of it. - Caribbean~H.Q. 03:01, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. Maleman19 certainly seems to have made some abusive edits (quite unlike those of FlubClub, oddly enough), so I'm unhappy to find I'm sharing an IP address with him! Could you please point me to the edit where Maleman19 becomes a "self confessed sockpuppet of EHC"? Regards, Xn4 05:00, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- Just take a quick browse troughout his talk page, but mainly here [6] and here. - Caribbean~H.Q. 05:03, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- Nope, there's nothing about EHC or EveryoneHatesChris at either of those links. So may I please ask you again, why do you describe Maleman19 as a "self confessed sockpuppet of EHC"? Xn4 22:28, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- Read the talk page and make sure you don't miss the bit where he mocks a user telling him that he can't be kept out of here because he has a "special feature" that allows him to evade bans and blocks, there is no clearer confesion than that. Why are you so interested in this case? - Caribbean~H.Q. 20:33, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

- I'm happy to answer that. I'm taking an interest because all these people evidently share my IP address (which is a large network) and this particular case caused me to be autoblocked twice. But I'd like to return to my question, if I may. You say FlubClub is a sockpuppet of EHC (just as your autoblock suspected that I was) because there's circumstantial evidence connecting FlubClub to Maleman19 and because Maleman19 is "a self-confessed sockpuppet of EHC". I have no time for Maleman19, some of whose edits strike me as childish, but I still can't see any sign that Maleman19 is or was "a self-confessed sockpuppet of EHC". If there is such a confession, where is it, please? And if there isn't, then where is the link between FlubClub and EHC which justifies a permanent block on a user (FlubClub) whose edits all seem to me to be constructive or harmless? Xn4 00:34, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- Back to Maleman did you take a look at his talk page? did you see this statement: "This fat moron still can't figure out that adminns can't keep me off of wikipedia because I have a special fixture that evades bans and blocks." now review this account's edits and compare them to those of the main account, he did confess sockpuppetry even if he did not say it directly, actually this message can be found on other disruptive accounts working within the same editing area,[7] (the user in that last diff created a user page with {{sockpuppet|EverybodyHatesChris}} wich was deleted, this account obviously knows who the main account is) there is no doubt Maleman has engaged in sockpuppetry and that is something that doesn't require discussion unlike FlubClub. As a matter of fact I was reviewing the block on FlubClub's account's the exact same day you decided to start this thread and I was waiting response from another user. On related note a indef block isn't a ban it is not permanent, it was only in place because the account may have been compromised and the user was supposed to be free to present evidence against it, wich she wasn't able to do because another sysop placed a protection on her talk page of wich I was unaware and lifted. I explained the reason to her and told her to present her case wich she did and I attended the block because Yamla who attended the user's first unblock request trough unblock-en-l said he didn't remember the case, as a matter of fact the user has been unblocked before your last post here, I doubt any other block on this account will affect you anyways seeing that Ip addresses have a tendency to change from time to time. - Caribbean~H.Q. 01:12, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, that's good, Caribbean H.Q., I'm glad you've taken back your comment "Sure, though FlubClub will not edit again since he is a sockpuppet of a indef blocked user." The approach here strikes me as a bit too trigger happy, and if I were FlubClub I should be complaining to Wikipedia about John Reaves. I see that MeowAccount (the user you linked above) is even more abusive than Maleman19, but I also see one of MeowAccount's edits to Lance Smart is summarized as "reverting edits made by a FlubClub (an established sockpuppet user of EverybodyHatesChris)". I still don't see that Maleman19 can be called "a self-confessed sockpuppet of EHC". You say "he did confess sockpuppetry even if he did not say it directly", but that isn't very clear to me, and I still don't see that he said he was specifically a sockpuppet EHC. It seems to me that your case against FlubClub was always very weak, so I'm really surprised that you went further and autoblocked everyone sharing FlubClub's IP address, including me. Xn4 04:47, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- I've now been unblocked. Thanks Xn4 for your comments here. I never have and never was anything to do with anyone else, it really was a coincidence (however big a coincidence one may think) that I happened to edit soon after Maleman said he was coming back. I am concerned that John Reaves could simply block my talk page without giving me a chance to respond, looking at his user page I believe he shouldn't have that sort of power, perhaps that's what it's all about for him. I wouldn't know how to complain about this, as I can't really understand the complaints process, it was all I could do to find the right link to try and get this sorted without being able to ask for help on my talk page. I hope I won't be blocked again, I only ever changed typos, I never have and never would change actual information as I would not consider myself more knowledgeable than someone else to do that, but I do know how to spell and where capital letters should be. Even though I'm unblocked, as you can see on my talk page I will still be being monitored for any 'disruptive' edits I may make, even though I've never made any, unless changing a spelling error is disruptive! I can only assume Xn4 that we work at the same place, and I apologize for the inconvenience of you being blocked because of this, although I hope you agree that this was completely out of my control and I have done all I could with limited resources to try and rectify it. I don't know much about technical stuff or IP addresses, does all this mean that Maleman has the same IP address as me or something, does it mean he works at the same place, seeing as all this started when I edited at work. I've been at home for the last week so surely my IP address must now be different to the work one? Anyway, I hope all this is over and done with now, all I ever wanted to do was help in my sad little way.FlubClub 12:56, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- I think I misunderstood these IP address issues. I gather I was blocked (twice) because FlubClub and I had both edited from the same IP address, 194.72.162.199, a large network. I thought at first that Maleman19 had come in from the same network, but looking back over our debate, the only link I can see with Maleman is in your guesswork that FlubClub's constructive edits to Judge Judy were a continuation of Maleman's. I can see that someone needs to sort out disruptive users like Maleman19 and MeowAccount, but it seems to me that you and John Reaves, as admins, are acting more like vigilantes than like the police. Re: What Next?
The Art of Halo, unfortunately, is incredibly detailed in some aspects and just a picturebook in others (Cortana and the Arbiter, for example.) I think the Arbiter will be easier, as it's a straight-forward character article, although like with Cortana I haven't found really good development stuff. There is some good tidbits about the Elites, though- for example, they originally had tails at the insistence of Jason Jones, until they realized how strange they looked in vehicles. I'm kinda making rotating improvements through Cortana, Guilty Spark, the Arbiter and co., but I'll add that in to the Elites while I'm thinking about it (there's also some good development sketches). WWE Diva Search
Hi. Is it possible to add full protection the WWE Diva Search article? The reason I ask is because other editors are using the list of contestants to create articles for them which do not satisfy the Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Notability (people) guidelines and criteria. The competition has finished so there is no real need to update the page. - Deep Shadow 05:12, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry I don't think a full protection would be proper here seeing that this is the work of a single user, however the pages themselves may be nominated for deletion and if recreation persists the titles may be salted. - Caribbean~H.Q. 06:54, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

RE:Burntsauce
Yeah, I've been keeping tabs on the RfAr to see what Alkivar's fate would be. It appears that this user is a meatpuppet, which would explain why the CheckUsers were powerless. At least the Arb Com is taking a stance against him, which honestly surprises me since many admins liked him. Featured List of the Day Experiment
There have been a series of proposals to initiate a Featured List of the Day on the main page. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages. You may submit multiple lists for consideration.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 17:36, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

His last sock, sweetsweetdaddy was discovered about the time he changed the colors of the infoboxes to gold. Another similarity is the box around the signature. I want a second opinion, as I'm a new admin and don't want to go around blocking people without some input. Thoughts? Nikki311 05:13, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- He's been indef. blocked. Nikki311 19:40, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry I couldn't help you on the moment, last time around the account was quite obvious and I discussed it with Hybrid before proceding, he is quite familiar with MO of the puppeters that edit the wrestling articles, if I'm not available he is someone that I trust if there is some help needed. - Caribbean~H.Q. 22:37, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Honored by the PR Senate
My dear friends in Wikipedia,
I would like to share with you that today, November 28, 2007, I was honored by the Senate of Puerto Rico with the "Resolution of the Senate Number 3603" in appreciation for my work in Wikipedia regarding Puerto Rican military related articles. I was given the resolution on behalf of the Senate by the President of the Puerto Rican Senate, the honorable Kenneth McClintock. It was a total surprise which I did not expect and that is why I want to share this news with you my friend. Tony the Marine (talk) 04:43, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- I know that you haven't been in Wiki for a couple of days but, I want to share the resolution with you. You can see it here: Press Releases. The pictures did come out that good, I'll download some better ones in the future. Tony the Marine (talk) 06:49, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Menudo and more...
I just wanted to thank you for your help there and to ask whether you will be able to keep an eye on it through early next week? I am travelling on Monday, and testifying before a US Senate subcommittee on e-government on Tuesday, and then travelling again on Wednesday. I will try to stay on top of this as well. I recommend protection or at least semi-protection be extended until we are sure things are calmed down. It is so wonderful to have good Wikipedians keeping an eye on stuff like this. :) Thank you!--Jimbo Wales (talk) 17:00, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
HELP!
what the devil is that? i have not only not posted any such thing in my life, but i have no idea what that even means! how could that possibly say it's me? i have no reason to attack that guy, and have never attacked anyone (the only reason i even responded to his attack with a personal privledge - weeks ago and forgotten by me until this - is to improve the article). good God, i don't even know what that means. how could this have my name attached to it - can you help me find who has my name, and tell me how i can report this? shouldn't it have the internet address that can be found? please help - wikipedia is awesome, but i don't really understand the in's & outs yet--Snideology (talk) 01:42, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- hey wait - look at my contributions! this wasn't from me. someone else somehow signed my name, but i never ever did such a thing. what is going on here?--Snideology (talk) 01:48, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- ok that user's ip address is 69.156.179.180, which seems to be in canada. notice that my ip comes is in arkansas. it wasn't me, but can you tell me how someone could use my name, without it even showing up on my contributions? this sure is strange--Snideology (talk) 01:58, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- the day who showed up? what do you mena active editing? when did i return to active editing? and yes please please do that checkuser thing. why would i suddenly attack someone (which i have never done) after a month or two has gone by from a minor dispute that was resolved? look at my edits - it doesnt make sense —Preceding unsigned comment added by Snideology (talk • contribs) 02:07, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- could you do that? i don't know any administrator (and didn't know you are one), but i would very much like this attended to. i would be indebted, since i am quite disturbed at the notion of vulgarities (was that post a vulgarity? i don't fully understand it, but it seemed to be) being attributed to me - at least on wikipedia. please post it on the administrator's page; i would like to know how someone could use my id without it showing up on my contribs - doesn't seem quite fair i daresay. thank you for the help!--Snideology (talk) 03:14, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

- thanks for the reply. please understand that at least in my case, learning the in's & out's of wikipedia takes time, and since i just plum don't know much about the mechanics (which is why i usually only do minor editing), i have to ask when something outrageous happens, and may not fully understand the explanation at first. i hope this will be the end of this problem. again, thanks for your help!--Snideology (talk) 23:59, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
Regarding the Halo Universe
It's simple really. I personally think that it is a neat little tidbit of information, especially since the ground troops in the game are marines, which, if you didn't already know, are a branch of the army. The Baconator (talk) 03:29, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- The Marines are not Army but rather a separate branch of the military, however adding something like that to a article tends to read like trivia and such additions are discouraged because of their unencyclopedic nature. - Caribbean~H.Q. 03:34, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Ohhhh, okay. I will refrain from making any comments like that in the future. Thank you for the clarification on why you removed it. The Baconator (talk) 03:40, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
What Next
Hard to say- I would like to get all the Halo stubs up to at least start class, for one. Then I guess Halo 3 to FA, make the Characters a Featured list, and then we could have two featured topics - Halo (series) and Halo characters. David Fuchs (talk) 23:45, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
- Well, featured topics only need "at least three distinct articles" that connect, so List of Halo characters, Cortana and the Master Chief would be all we need actually. Probably, Johnson and/or the Hiearchs might get merged back into the main article, but right now all the list needs is as much out of universe info as we can dredge up. David Fuchs (talk) 00:02, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Not really. Like you said, I've had several of these fans already. Just leave them alone and they'll get tired of doing this. Thanks for looking out for me, though :-) Feliz Navidad. --Agüeybaná 14:44, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, it's hard, specially because it's a multilingual project, so I have to deal with people who upload copyvios constantly, but only speak 普通话, język polski, or even עברית. For example, I recently had to leave a final warning in French to a user who uploaded a copyvio multiple times. But, the Commons community is great, and there's not as much fighting or vandalism as there is here :-) --Agüeybaná 22:35, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Genocide of the Taino/Arawak and Carib Indians
A large number of native americans died as a result of disease but huge numbers of amerindians died as a result of being murdered. They were used as dog food, killed for sport, and for other no good reason. Do a quick search on google and you'll be able to find a lot of information. [8]. Even "into the Spanish and English languages that persists till this day. The famous Jesuit missionary and historiographer, Bartolomé de las Casas, wrote in 1561, "There were 60,000 people living on this island (when I arrived in 1508), including the Indians; so that from 1494 to 1508, over 3,000,000 people had perished from war, slavery and the mines. Who in future generations will believe this?" " [9] UnclePaco (talk) 12:09, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
- I know, all this is taught in school to anyone born in any point in the Caribbean (or at least in Puerto Rico), however the section title's was misleding as it not only dealt with the genocide of the natives but also included mention of the number of natives that died of foreing disease, I wouldn't recommend using 'genocide' though, for some reason Wikipedians like to keep it neutral, dead neutral to the point that not even Adolf Hitler is labeled as a dictator directly, what I mean is that having such a strong word in the title of a section might affect the article when the time for a good article nomination comes around. - Caribbean~H.Q. 15:19, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
- thanks for understanding. perhaps i shoud separate it. i fixed it up a lot in order to make it more clear. disease played a large role, but much of the death was a direct result of spaniard domination of the native culture. in Cambodia one to 3 million people were killed and this was labeled to be genocide. [10] there were more killed in hispanola, so why would this not be deemed to be genocide? thanks for your attention. UnclePaco (talk) 16:40, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Hornetman sock
Could you please block 72.186.88.137 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) as a sock for some appropriate period of time. Per this edit to this section, his generally aggressive editing pattern, and the WHOIS info listing him from Riverview, Florida, I think he's a sock. He claims to be from Tampa, Florida[11], which is right near Riverview [12]. You may need Firefox to see that map, but if you use something else you can just type Riverview, Florida into Google Maps to see it. Cheers, The Hybrid T/C 06:23, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
It isn't the first. He has a special kind known as a ranged dynamic IP. I think that a range block could solve it, but I'm not entirely positive. Cheers, SexySeaBass 12:35, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
Sorry for not noticing your comment before; I got a couple of messages after yours, and I didn't think to check the top of my page. If range blocks have to be short, then it would probably be useless. I'll see if I can intimidate him on Wikia, but if that doesn't work I think that you, Nikki, Bulletproof, and myself will be fighting him off for a number of months. Oh well, it won't be the first time we've had to deal with persistent sockpuppeteers. I'll keep you posted. Cheers, SexySeaBass 07:09, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

I have attempted to use the Talk page on CHE
CJ Griffin refuses to provide any evidence for his claims or for why he objects to my edits. He is extremely bias (has a crossed out logo of Che Guevara on his personal amazon page he provides) and uses blatant POV without justification. I am relying on the definitive sources on the topic along with years of study. He is relying on hatchet job hit pieces and has an axe to grind. My only option is revert edits ... because bim and Blguyen (sp?) refuse to discuss their objections. CJ Griffin labels the tribunals in Post Revolution Cuba as "Show Trials" when the evidence does not bar that out.

Thanks for your help and interest in the article, I don't think fusing "Administrative body" and "Chapters" to create a new section is a good idea I see that "Administrative body" could be merged some where else but "Chapters" should remain an independent section since I am also attempting to fallow the "norm" in fraternity and sororities Wikipedia:WikiProject Fraternities and Sororities. Only one frat has reached FA status Alpha Phi Alpha and only 2 have reached GA status in the project: Phi Delta Theta and Beta Upsilon Chi, maybe looking at these u will see what I mean. RE from Hybrid
Yeah, dealing with this guy should make for a good time, assuming he's still at it after I messaged him, which he probably is. He's always such a delightful personality. The sad truth is, if we met in real life we'd probably be great friends 0_o. Anyways, my late congratulations on reaching the 1 year mark. After all this time you never cease to impress me. You surpassed me a very, very long time ago, and you just continue to improve. I can't take any credit for how great you've become; you are so successful simply because of who you are. Excellence can't be coached, my friend. You've already established yourself amongst the admin community, and I predict that before 2009 you will be capable of passing an RfB if you choose to. Have a great year my friend. Cheers, SexySeaBass 17:45, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Hornetwoman... Maybe he's getting a sex change. Well, more importantly, I guess he's ignored my comment on Wikia. Hopefully he'll stay this creative throughout our hunt. Peace, SexySeaBass 14:12, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
On Wikia you get a new messages bar on every Wikia no matter which Wikia the message was received. The bar will redirect you to your talk page on the Wikia where you received the message. Therefore, even though he is leaving the PWW alone, I can still message him there, and he will receive it at the Local News Wikia, where he is a BCrat. He's a BCrat there because he started that Wikia, in case you're wondering. He's been trying to get unblocked on PWW, and I told him that I'd never unblock him unless he stopped sockpuppeteering. I guess he doesn't care. Oh well, that's fine with me. Cheers, SexySeaBass 22:53, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Hola, amigo! Sorry, for the late response. I've been having some internet problems at home. Adminshipt has been... not so bad. :-) I've spent some time patrolling CSD, the orphaned talk pages query, and RFD. I also helped out at WP:ACE2007. I noticed your message on BigGabrial concerning Dominican Republic [17]. Even though I have had my issues with BigGabrial555 [18], he does mean well.
