Help required in sorting massive false edit on the Rainbow Brite 1984 TV series page. The job in reverting, retaining valid edits since the change, warning and/or reporting the anonymous offender and possibly requesting page protection, is beyond my time and abilities.

- Are you referring to the number of episodes, or something else? I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 07:07, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- @I dream of horses Number of episodes, whole descriptions of episodes removed from the episode list...etc. Camwad83 (talk) 07:22, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- It seems that you reverted yourself with regards to number of episodes for some reason. Otherwise, going to the talk page is the best idea for now. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 07:28, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- @I dream of horses Yes because of the message that reversion could not be done due to other edits since the major deletion. I thought it may have been due to my edit. There is not a lot of point in changing the number anyway unless the episode information is also restored.
- There is no discussion, I have posted on the Talk page but that won't do anything if no one is interested in getting it sorted. Camwad83 (talk) 07:38, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- What do you mean by "reversion could not be done?" What happened? I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 14:19, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- @I dream of horses It gives a message saying that the edit could not be reverted due to other edits and reversion needs to be done manually. Camwad83 (talk) 14:28, 20 August 2022 (UTC)

You're probably using the undo button on an edit that can't be undone that way. Right? I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 14:30, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- @I dream of horses Yes Camwad83 (talk) 14:30, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- That's not a 'people' problem but rather a 'technology' problem. You need to change the information without using the undo button. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 14:31, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- @I dream of horses Yes, obviously. There doesn't appear to be a simple way to do that though. Camwad83 (talk) 14:32, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- What isn't simple about it? I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 14:33, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- @I dream of horses Changes were made in multiple sections. I find it difficult to understand the UI that shows this person's changes. Also ensuring that legitimate changes made since are retained. So someone who knows Wikipedia better and has more time than I. If there was somewhere I could find a copy of the page just before that change, would make it much easier, the later edits could then be made afterwards as they are minor. Camwad83 (talk) 14:38, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- I don't understand. I don't think you've made a lot of changes, only a few. Multiple other people have. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 14:40, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- @I dream of horses Yes, it's not about my changes. I am not the vandal. Camwad83 (talk) 15:08, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- Why not just make the changes manually and see what happens? I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 18:47, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- @I dream of horses Very fiddly, as I said, I don't have the time to go through, figure out what's been changed, change it, then do the next thing. The person made multiple changes all over the place including whole descriptions, which I would need to type in by hand since I can't find where old versions of pages are. On a phone that takes even longer. If there was a version of the page from just before I could copy and paste the whole thing, very easy. The manual instructions imply that there is a previous page versions area but the instructions don't appear to match with the Android app. So if there is someone who has far more knowledge with Wikipedia, it may be far more easier for them than me. I'm not sure there's even just one person who's doing it? I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 19:08, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
- @I dream of horses Possibly but it is one person who did the recent large edit. Camwad83 (talk) 05:34, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- If you're talking about this one, I doubt the person will be back anytime soon. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 09:23, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
