Fnality International - deleted page
I am new to adding a Wikipedia page.
Could you please explain why you deleted Fnality International.
I do not believe that anything I included violates copyright but happy for any help/guidance you can provide
Thanks
Wendy--Wgyngell (talk) 11:04, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
- Wgyngell. Unfortunately the About Us was included in the article. There were other sections from their page that were copied as well. At the bottom of that page is a copyright notice. You need to write in your own words. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 11:21, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
Ah, did not realise that the CTA tracking replicated - Can you reinstate the page and I will change it today, most of the information is just facts rather than opinion but no problem I can write the rest in my words.
Wendy--Wgyngell (talk) 13:39, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
- Wgyngell. Sorry but because it's a copyright violation I can't. However, if you were to turn your email on I can send it to you. That's pretty safe as Wikipedia does not let me know what your email is even if I send to you. You will see mine but unless you reply I won't have any idea what yours is. Go to Special:Preferences and you can set an email there. Just don't post it here. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 13:57, 23 December 2019 (UTC)

The article Trevor Jesty has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Changes to Lady Franklin Point Wikipedia Entry
Hey, Cambridge Bay Weather,
I AM the Reliable Source of the recent edit, as I served as the Department of National Defence Environmental Officer, for 22 years, and I had authority for the site during my tenure, including the fire and its aftermath. Who are you to presume to deny my edit? I'll be reporting your inappropriate action to the Wikipedia authority having jurisdiction over such matters. Here's a piece of advice, for you, "Stay out of things that you have no direct knowledge of or authority over." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.49.99.177 (talk) 13:13, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
- As per Wikipedia:Reliable sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability you are not a reliable source. No more than I am for my home town of Cambridge Bay. The thing is you make the claim that you were involved with the DND but there is no way to prove that. I could log out and edit as an IP, like you, and claim to be your boss during that time period. Either way there has to be a source that anybody can use to check material. Who am I? I'm just a regular Wikipedia editor like many others. Please feel free to report me to whoever you like. I would suggest starting at Wikipedia:Help desk and if you still think you are a reliable source then ask at Wikipedia:Reliable sources noticeboard. As for your rather ridiculous advice I will point out that as it says on the top left of the Main Page this is "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit." That means you can edit articles that you know nothing about. Indeed I have no authority over that particular, or any article, but neither do you. That's known as Wikipedia:Ownership of content and is frowned upon. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 20:06, 30 December 2019 (UTC)

- BullRangifer. I've put it back. I moved it because the page had a declined submission tag on it (now removed). There was njo indication on the page nor at Talk:Lancet MMR autism fraud that there had been a discussion to move it there. The edit summary didn't give an indication of where this discussion was. I've fixed the Talk:Lancet MMR autism fraud/Wakefield 1998 Paper Fraud a bit but it needs a link to the discussion saying to put it there. - Following a request for comment, partial blocks are now enabled on the English Wikipedia. This functionality allows administrators to block users from editing specific pages or namespaces rather than the entire site. A draft policy is being workshopped at Wikipedia:Partial blocks.
- The request for comment seeking the community's sentiment for a binding desysop procedure closed with
wide-spread support for an alternative desysoping procedure based on community input

- Twinkle now supports partial blocking. There is a small checkbox that toggles the "partial" status for both blocks and templating. There is currently one template: {{uw-pblock}}.
- When trying to move a page, if the target title already exists then a warning message is shown. The warning message will now include a link to the target title. [1]
- Following a recent arbitration case, the Arbitration Committee reminded administrators

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Deletion of Atheist in Kenya Society Page
Hello I have recently done an article on Atheist in Kenya Society which you proposed for deletion. Am a new Wikipedian and I would really love participating and making major contributions on Wikipedia and this was my first article that I thought I had done my best. At first I had captioned the name of the page wrongly, I had captioned it as Atheist Society In Kenya instead of Atheist in Kenya Society. So I had to move the page to Atheist in Kenya Society. Please I would like you to advice on what I have done wrong. I would also appreciate if you could revert the decision and give me an opportunity to learn from my mistake. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Milliede' (talk • contribs) 19:09, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
- Milliede'. Sorry I was distracted and forgot to let you know that I had moved the page to Atheists In Kenya Society because on the original you had Atheists In Kenya Society. with a period at the end. There didn't appear to be any need for it so I moved the page. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 01:42, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

Indef block for copyright
Can I ask you to please have a look at this case. One of our very long time contributors to WikiProject Aircraft was indef blocked by an admin. I am concerned that the same admin made the formal complaint at Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations, there was no investigation by anyone else and then the same admin blocked the user. This seems to be an involved case to me. I am not sure one admin should be accuser, judge, jury and executioner. The user in question has not contacted me, I just thought a review of this was in order. Thanks for looking at this. - Ahunt (talk) 14:27, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
- Ahunt. I looked through it and it may not have been handled in the best way but they were violating copyright. If they want to be unblocked then they need to make the appeal themselves. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 04:30, 13 February 2020 (UTC)

Proposed deletion Fife Steel Basketball Club
Hi.CambridgeBayWeather
In response to your proposal to delete the page for Fife Steel due to its "amateur" status.
All basketball clubs in Scotland, with exception of Glasgow Rocks, are considered amateur/part time (in that they can not be considered a full time employment).
However, almost all, and including every other with an article on Wikipedia, are affiliated to Basketball Scotland (the governing body). I would argue that Fife Steel also fit this criteria as they participate in all of the same competitions and are also an affiliated partner with Basketball Scotland, not just "another team" on the list.
On checking the other wiki entries for Scottish teams I note none of them use the term "amateur". Again, all these teams have equivalency, so I have removed the word "amateur" from the opening paragraph and hope that this is reasonable.
Apologies if my formatting is wrong here, pretty new at Wikipedia editing.
Maclac78 (talk) 08:28, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
- Maclac78. Have a look at Wikipedia:Notability (sports)#Teams and clubs and see if that clears it up. 14:40, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
- CambridgeBayWeather I've taken a look, I do appreciate the 'notability' aspect but, again, the club, maybe apart from years of existence, has, at least, equivalency with other Scottish BBall teams as listed in the category of such teams. I'm prepared to move back to Draft for a period to allow further linkable references/confirmation and recording of title win but, again, I don't see why this article is any different to the other similar clubs in the country?

Need admin protection on Religion in Hungary
Please lock this page as it has been frequently vandalized and users are making repeatedly disruptive edits. This just like the Hungary article. I have an ANI complaint against two users: Moxy and The Sr Guy. This is not a dispute. There is no dispute in the Hungary article either. I believe they are kids. They are engaging in tendentious editing, making attacks against me personally, and screwing around with these two pages, making a mess, reverting to old versions of pages, posting biased personal opinions, etc.
Read my ANI complaint please, at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#User:Moxy. behavioral issues, disruptive editing, attacking other editors, WP:NPOV, BRD, BATTLEGROUND. Also user:The Sr Guy. No admins are responding to this complaint. I am getting harassed in that ANI thread now! These two don't even understand what ANI is for. I need to update my complaint continually because these things are still happening, and nobody is doing anything to stop them. They are taking advantage of this. I've posted notices on both their talk pages about the ANI filing.
Moxy is attacking me on the Hungary talk page now. The Sr Guy just made yet another two disruptive edits in Religion in Hungary, one of which he's already been reverted twice for now (he ignores my warnings). Please BLOCK these two, and put some better page protection on Religion in Hungary. This is getting way out of hand and I don't understand why admins are not acting. I don't want to continually waste my time having to monitor these pages. I'm not a regular here, I've never been to these pages before. I just walked in here unawares, following a link to READ the page, not edit it, and saw all kinds of crap being done to these pages, including especially false statistics not supported by the cited source, and stats that didn't add up mathematically. That last is what tipped me off that something was amiss. Naturally I corrected it and reverted.
But these two keep putting up nonsense over and over, and they sound and act immature. I also don't need the harassment and verbal violence from these two. Also there seem to be more of these users, others hanging in the fringes. Three of them started bothering the ANI thread with irrelevancies that have nothing to do with my complaint, trying to intimidate me and goad me into responding to their imaginary "disputes" like petty, whining children. I went through enough of that with my own two kids, thank you very much. I'm glad they are mature enough for teenagers. The users who have posted their diversions in the ANI complaint may be socks or just meatpuppets of Moxy and The Sr Guy, or maybe the Hungary article is just a troll magnet.
These two articles have a history of WP:BATTLEGROUND, WP:NPOV, WP:CIVIL violations, etc. I didn't know that when I walked in here, and frankly I don't want to be here, but if admins don't take action when it's needed, you have anarchy in these articles, and they get destroyed. I shouldn't have to point this out, but I am shocked that this has gone on this long and these pages have become so deteriorated, and I am surprised that no one has responded to my ANI complaint after 24 hours now, while the abuse continues (abuse of me, abuse of these articles, abuse of the Wikipedia process and guidelines).
If you wish to reply to this message, please do so either here or in the ANI thread, not on my talk page as that would invite more trolls. Thank you. LisztianEndeavors (talk) 23:29, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
Katensen (Uetze)
Please can you stop moving Katensen (Uetze) to Katensen, I am trying to create the Katensen (Bergen) page too - and every single time, you move Katensen (Uetze) to Katensen - which Breaks all of the WIKIDATA links to the German Translation for DE:Katensen (Uetze) - I find it very frustrating - I am trying to simply create that there are 2 villages in the same Region LOWER SAXONY and there are different - even though they have the same name.
I am following exactly how its done on German WIKI - https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katensen and don't understand why this is verboten on the EN site.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scgsam (talk • contribs) 10:37, 27 February 2020 (UTC)
- Scgsam As I explained on your talk page this is not the German language site. Each language has their own set up. Here it would be Katensen, Uetze and Katensen, Bergen and even the third one Katensen, Offen. As long as there is just the one there is no need for a disambiguation page. Is one of the three the main one? CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 10:46, 27 February 2020 (UTC)
- By the way I checked the Wikidata entry. It is fine. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 10:49, 27 February 2020 (UTC)
there is no main Katensen, they are just 2 small villages - this is why they are named after the town to which they belong, on our road sign it says Katensen (Uetze) - this is why its frustrating it gets moved to the incorrect name - Now I have created a separated (disambiguation) page as you suggested - I hope this satisfies your request ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scgsam (talk • contribs) 10:51, 27 February 2020 (UTC)
- Scgsam. You should create the other two first. Create Katensen, Bergen and/or Katensen, Offen (never mind how they appear on the German Wikipedia, just click on the red links) and then it could be sorted. Is there two or three as you are saying both. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 10:56, 27 February 2020 (UTC)
OK, I do that later. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scgsam (talk • contribs) 11:00, 27 February 2020 (UTC)
- Scgsam. OK I have sorted it. Katensen is now a disambiguation page and the village is at Katensen, Uetze as per the English Wikipedia standards. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 11:23, 27 February 2020 (UTC)

Rookie editor's question about deleted draft page on Matthew Stillman
Hello. Sorry to bother you, but can I ask a question, please? I’ve been making occasional edits on Wikipedia for several years now, on and off. I recently decided to try and create my first article. So I found a subject – the British film producer Matthew Stillman, who doesn’t have his own page – and spent some time researching it. Then, when I’d got all the material together, I tried setting up the page – and discovered that someone else had begun a draft about the same person but abandoned it just over a year ago. I asked about this on Teahouse and was advised to add my material to the existing draft and then, if I liked, tell the original creator what I’d done. I’m just about to start adding my material to the draft, but I thought I should also contact you, as you seem to have deleted the draft in question in January 2019. Was that just because the draft had been abandoned? Or was there some fundamental problem with the page or the subject? (Sorry, I should probably be able to work that out, but I can't...) I got the impression that the person who did the draft had got most of the material from one of Stillman's companies' websites – whereas I think there’s more than enough material out there from independent sources. I’d be very grateful if you could give me a steer, please, as I don’t want to spend too much more time on the project if it’s just going to be rejected anyway. I hope that makes sense. The link to the existing draft is here: https://en.wikiredia.com/wiki/Draft:Matthew_Stillman
And my earlier conversation in Teahouse, now archived, can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions/Archive_1051 : I've just found someone else's abandoned draft about the subject of the article I'm creating
Thank you in advance for your help. UKpedant2 (talk) 10:07, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
- UKpedant2 That was confusing. Draft:Matthew Stillman, which is still there, was created in December 2018 by Kravar.petr. They moved it from draft to article space in January 2019 and then back to draft a few days later. They stopped editing and after time it was tagged for deletion. Somebody asked for it to be restored and has had one edit since then. What I deleted was the redirect from Matthew Stillman to Draft:Matthew Stillman.
- I see the last edit was about six months ago so you should probably make some edits soon to ensure the draft doesn't get tagged again. Good luck. Looks notable to me. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 10:20, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
Fantastic! Thank you very much. That's very helpful, & encouraging. I'll get to work... Many thanks UKpedant2 (talk) 10:45, 6 March 2020 (UTC)

Hello! Could you have a look at Kinngait Co-operative and correct any errors you might see? I have gone by sourcing, but may have some things wrong. Thank you in advance.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 15:12, 12 March 2020 (UTC)
- ThatMontrealIP I made a couple of edits. Hope they are OK. I think the category Inuit groups are for different named bands. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 03:48, 13 March 2020 (UTC)
- I am sure they are all good! Thank you. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 04:29, 13 March 2020 (UTC)
Victoria Romanoff Submission
Hello, I submitted an article for review. The title of the page is Victoria Romanoff. I am a first-time editor and am unfamiliar with the process. Can you please confirm that you have received the article? How long does the review process normally take? Thank you for your consideration, MarinaDelaney (talk) 21:05, 12 March 2020 (UTC)
Victoria Romanoff.Unfortunately I don't review articles. If you go to User:MarinaDelaney/sandbox and click on the blue link then follow the instructions and someone will eventually be along to review it. Hi there! We are having a problem with a COI editor, working for the company, WP:PEACOCK spamming the article. He has been warned about his user name and his obvious COI edits but is persisting. I was wondering if you could take a look and take whatever action you deem appropriate there. - Ahunt (talk) 23:38, 12 March 2020 (UTC)
- Ahunt I protected the page for a week and left the editor a message. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 04:15, 13 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi, there, it appears we have an editor that is not capable of actually reading the changes an insists on reverting to unsourced information. If wikipedia wants to have any creditablity I would think having factual information would be useful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RotorWayinchandler (talk • contribs) 17:03, 13 March 2020 (UTC)
- RotorWayinchandler I did read and understand the changes you made. It was a bit more than wordsmithing. You removed a sourced section and added unsourced material that was written like an advert. Did you add the COI information? CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 10:31, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
some conventions
Hi there! I've seen the articles you've moved around, and the titles you've moved them to look a lot better than the previous ones. But have you seen this? I was trying to keep it consistent with all of those. I do prefer the titles you've used, and I would have chosen the same ones as you, if it hadn't been for the pattern that was already there. What do you think is the best way forward? Dr. Vogel (talk) 15:43, 27 March 2020 (UTC) DrVogel. I didn't see that I saw Category:Cities and towns in Emilia-Romagna. Which uses the comma, which I thought was standard for towns. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 22:28, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
