Hello, Cam50 camgirl, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Sex messenger, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sex messenger requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or an organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Information icon Hello, I'm KSFT. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Comparison of online dating websites— because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. KSFTC 19:06, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

To answer your questions...

[edit]

Hello User:Cam50 camgirl. I saw that you asked several users for help understanding why your article was nominated for speedy delivery. I've also reviewed the content you added to user talk:Ritchie333, before it was deleted there.

One of the most important criteria for an article in Wikipedia is that the subject be notable. In order to demonstrate notability, it pretty much needs to be considered notable by folks not associated with the subject, such that people have written and published about it. The fact that something exists does not confer notability on it. Wikipedia is not a blog, or FaceBook, or yellow pages, or web host: it is an encyclopedia.

You gave a couple of examples of articles about other dating sites, such as Operation Match and DateIITians, and asked how your article was any different. Operation Match has been documented as having been the first ever computer dating system, about 50 years ago. It's been written about. It is considered notable enough to be in an encyclopedia. The article on DateIITians is more problematic, in that it has citations to outside sources, but the article itself is badly in need of additional help. If someone nominated it for deletion today, I suspect that it would end up being deleted. It is not a good example for your own writing.

If you want to write an article about this dating site, I suggest doing so in your sandbox (if you need help finding this, ask below). Then, follow the procedure to get input on how to make the article better. By using this procedure, you can submit an article that has input from other editors, and a better chance of remaining on the site. To learn more, click this link: Wikipedia:Your first article.

Another thing you should know is that Wikipedia strongly discourages editors from writing about subjects they are tied to personally or financially. This is called conflict of interest writing (or COI for short) and requires that a person with a COI at least declare same on their user page. If this might apply to you, I suggest reading Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for a better understanding of the policy. COI writing is a touchy subject among editors; breaking any of the related rules is considered very problematic here, so it is best to make sure you understand those rules before you begin.

I hope this helps. If you have additional questions, just post them below in a new section (I'll keep this page on my watchlist for awhile). If you have a question and I don't answer right away (I am frequently away for more than 24 hours), you can still ask your question here and also post {{Help me}} (including the curly brackets) above your question; this will post a request where editors who specialize in helping others can see it, and they will answer here on your talk page. Good luck and happy editing. Etamni | ✉   20:28, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your explanation. Sex messenger has been featured on other sites. Cam50 been one that has reviewed it. I can add it to the Sandox but I am not sure if that would help, following what you previously stated. Thanks for the input. I will try it. Cam50 camgirl (talk) 20:40, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
So put it in the sandbox, then read through the links above, especially for notability and COI editing, make the best possible article you can, then ask for others to comment on it in the sandbox. There is very real concern that the article appears to be an advertisement, so be sure to explain what is notable about the subject. I'll be offline for a bit, so if you have additional questions, be sure to use the {{help me}} tag to get assistance today. Etamni | ✉   21:19, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I have restored the page to Draft:Sex messenger where it can be worked on further. When you are ready for a review, click on the green "Submit this draft", but don't do this until you have followed the advice given by Etamni otherwise it is very likely to be declined. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 21:24, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
OK, so there is no longer a need to move the article to a sandbox. The rest of what I mentioned still applies, however. I've reviewed the article, fixed a couple of minor typos, and added some interlinks. (Those are links from key words to other articles on Wikipedia -- they will now appear blue when you read the article.) The article still needs citations from unrelated sources, such as news outlets, or industry trade journals, or the like. Etamni | ✉   03:09, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
