Information icon Hello, I'm JeffSpaceman. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Call centre have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Call centre. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Under the section 'Media portrayals' there are a number of cited examples of media portrayal with links. Is it correct to filter social media from that section? Would it be possible and more acceptable for me to created a Wiki page dedicated to the cited entity and then link to that page from within the 'Media portrayals' section?
Thanks CallCentreXRPL (talk) 16:41, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
They are wikilinks - links to other Wikipedia articles. Other external links do not belong in the body of the article. Additionally, the content you added should be cited to a secondary source like an independent news article, not a primary source like the official website or social media, in order to demonstrate that it is worth mentioning.
For an article to exist on a topic, it should cite sources that give significant coverage of the topic, and are independent of that topic, like news articles as I said. You can read more at Wikipedia:Notability. Also, your username may indicate a conflict of interest (COI), so you should avoid directly making edits about the topic you are closely affiliated. Instead, make COI edit requests on the talk page of an article or create articles through the Articles for Creation method. ObserveOwl (chit-chatmy doings) 17:10, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK, understood, thanks for the advice. CallCentreXRPL (talk) 17:21, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, CallCentreXRPL. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Call centre, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Alexf(talk) 18:56, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Your account has been blocked from editing because your username gives the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website. Your username is the principal reason for the block. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here. You may also read our FAQ for article subjects.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change. The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username for this account instead, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page (which is this page): {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be in use by another account. You can use this page to search the list of registered accounts and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If your search returns that "there is no global account for [your search term]", that means it is available.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page (which is this page): {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Thank you. Hammersoft (talk) 00:13, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
