Logo of "Wiki loves SDGs" initiative

Hi,

I am EMsmile, and I am a part of a group of people wishing to improve SDG-related articles on Wikipedia. We are organising this online SDG edit-a-thon during Global Goals Week, 18-26 September 2020. Please take part in it! If you have any questions about this work, please feel free to ask your question on the event's talk page here. The event page itself is here.

Here are some pages about Wikipedia editing that you might find helpful:

Please sign your name using four tildes (~~~~) when you post on talk pages. This will automatically produce your username and the date. Look for the "tilde" character on your keyboard; for example on English keyboards it is to the left of the "enter" key (accessible with the "alt gr" key). If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Jamii:Wiki Africa Challenge Arusha requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. -KAP03 (Talk • Contributions • Email) 06:16, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello KAP03, I meant to start the page on Swahili Wikipedia. Please delete the page here. Sorry for inconveniences. --CaliBen (talk) 09:48, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Hello Drmies, may you please clarify more about this. I recently tried adding photos on English Wikipedia under the WPWP campaign. Did I violate any rule? --CaliBen (talk) 17:45, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
We share laptops to support each other in learning to contribute in the Wikimedia projects. Currently, there is a campaign for adding photos to Wikipedia pages. I have not made any edits with my username in the recent few days so other users have been using the laptop to edit. Is this a problem? --CaliBen (talk) 17:56, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Drmies, I realize and apologize for the violations that have been taking place due to the participation in this campaign. It was not intended for the mistakes and violations to take place. I request for my account to be unblocked as this will never happen again. --CaliBen (talk) 18:18, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
CaliBen, I need to hear what the background is of this campaign, and how we have so many accounts from the same range. I need you to have a look at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard##WPWP_#WPWPARK, and at this. Because this has raised many eyebrows. Drmies (talk) 18:19, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Drmies, the link to the campaign page is [1] you can find more details about the campaign there. Editors use this tool [2] to find Wikipedia pages from different languages with no images and they add images from the related Wikidata items having photos. I have communicated with the users to stop adding the photos not to cause further problems through the campaign. --CaliBen (talk) 18:34, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Request reason:

I have communicated with all the users who were sharing with me this laptop to stop editing as lots of mistakes are made. No more contributions based on adding images will be made from all the user accounts that used this IP address. The accounts are not for the same person, they are from different people but sharing the laptop as there are limited laptops to use. CaliBen (talk) 19:09, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

CaliBen, I hope you followed the links and have an idea of what the problems on en-wiki were with those massive edits by huge numbers of accounts. I also hope you will inform the organizers that communication is key: if I had known anything more than I did, things would have gone differently. Thanks. Drmies (talk) 19:01, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Admin: please see Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard##WPWP_#WPWPARK. And I'll just say this: CU evidence is clear but does not prove that ALL the accounts I blocked are the same person. If you believe this user is honest and of good faith, feel free to unblock. Drmies (talk) 20:21, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you —CaliBen (talk) 19:15, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Drmies, I hope you are doing great! I have been waiting to be unblocked for quite a while. Since, I am still blocked I thought of kindly asking you if there is any further step I have to take to be unblocked. Thanks --CaliBen (talk) 10:39, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oh my dear CaliBen, I am so sorry--I wish you had let me know earlier since this is entirely my fault: there was one more screen for me to click through. It's taken care of now: please accept my apologies. Drmies (talk) 14:15, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Drmies, It is okay, apology accepted --CaliBen (talk) 11:21, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Are you good
