Article 1- 9/11 This article over viewed the 9-11 attacks of 2001. It went over the history of the attacks, the actors involved, the results of the attacks, the health hazards that came about after the attacks, as well as the government policies that were passed after the attacks. The results that occurred included the passage of bills such as the Patriot Act as well as the Terrorism Suppression Act. These laws continued if not ignited a whole new wave of racism against people from Middle Eastern countries by Americans, which has caused problems and bad blood between the US and the Middle East. Article 2- CPOST This article over viewed the Chicago Project on Security and Terrorism. This article revisited an author that we have seen before in class called Pape, who founded this research database. The media coverage of this Project was displayed in popular sources like the New York Times and the Washington Post. The article references the GTD, which we have also used in class when it compared the reportings of suicide terrorist incidents. According to the chart, in 2007, the CPOST reported more incidents, but in 2013, the GTD reported more incidents.
