Draft:Khabeeruddin Ahmed
Request for feedback on Draft:Khabeeruddin Ahmed Afzal tc8 (talk) 16:12, 29 April 2019 (UTC) Afzal tc8
I had a lengthy conversation today with two persons on live help. We faced a difficulty, when we presented a primary form of evidence on Khabeeruddin's education. WiKi helpers wanted secondary information. In other words, school record is not good to Wiki, a degree must show on a news article or a book. We were surprised, as a news article doesn't prove a degree.
Most information on Khabeeruddin will come from primary sources. For example, from Assembly Chamber records, court room records etc. Rarely, those records will say Khabeeruddin many times, even though it could be implied that he was a primary person. In fact those will be best information available on the subject. Yet, Wiki has problem with primary source.
Due to these difficulties, we were advised to publish our findings on a newspaper or on a scholarly print first. So, this appear to be a good direction as was suggested by the live helper. We have no problem with that.
However, before removing the article completely, we have deleted areas of text where we are still trying to locate original sources. Notice that, the man was an assemblyman, and the countries are/were modern day England and India, with good record keeping. So, finding original sources appear to be a matter of time only.
Nevertheless, we are willing to voluntarily delete the article for now, if that is what preferred. Need some feedback at this point, on our voluntary plan to remove the article.
If you respond quickly, we will remove quickly. Thank you.

- Afzal tc8 Greetings. When you refered to "two persons on live help", what live chat you were referring to and who are these two persons? Also when you referred to "We faced a difficulty" ; " we were advised to publish our findings on a newspaper...." who are we you were referring to? Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 07:07, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
Hi CASSIOPEIA - Thank you!! Answers follow - A click on the 'live help' on Draft:Khabeeruddin Ahmed inside your first comment took us to:
Wikipedia:IRC help disclaimer Live Help Connect to English Wikipedia help channel
The conversations took place inside the live English Wikipedia help channel yesterday. One of the two entities was a person or entity named 'Dragonfly6-7'. Trying to remember the name of the other entity or person. That name I think had four characters that started with an 'H'. Those two entities appeared as working together, in a coordinated. The person H... started first, but as soon as Dragonfly6-7 started conversation, H... dropped out without responding. Dragonfly6-7 said, if I voluntarily deleted the draft by May 31, nothing would happen to me. He then gave me the attributes for voluntary deletion. Dragonfly6-7 gave some valuable feedback on the actual content. Those feedbacks that made sense to me have been incorporated in the draft since yesterday. By the way, Dragonfly6-7 had difficulty in recognizing Simla or what relation it had to Rajshahi (Muslim) constituency in 1922. Nevertheless, wise enough on history of that part to suggest deletion of the draft.
"We faced a difficulty" - 'We' means I, alone. In general, anywhere you see "we" in my writing that refers to me and relates to this particular draft, "we" means I alone.
Afzal tc8 (talk) 15:35, 30 April 2019 (UTC) Afzal tc8
- Afzal tc8 Good day. Ok thank you for the info.I asked because if the communication is on one of the "help desks" then I could look at the history diff to see what was discussed, but since it is on IRC that is a live chat. Do address yourself as "I" instead of "We" as Wiki account is for one user only. Do note if we do not know the gender of the editor, we would address the editor as "them/they/their" in Wikipedia. Let me set out by outlining the requirements for a subject to merit a page in Wikipedia. Firstly, the subject needs to be notable (worthy to note) (example, if you are a minor league basketball player in Malawi then you are not notable, but if you played in MBA league then you are notable). Secondly, the content claimed needs to be supported by (i) significant coverage (at least 3 and up) (ii) independent, reliable sources ( note sources need to be both independent and reliable) where by (iii) the sources "directly" talk about the subject in length and in depth and not only passing mentioned for verification. (3) The content need to be written in neutral point of view and free of (4) copyright infringement and (5) WP:PROMOTION and puffery words.
- Sources which are not independent can NOT be contribute to the notability of the subject but they could be the supplement source for certain information of the subject such as education and some basic background of subject life for these are NOT the information would pass the notability requirement anyway. However, info of such info taken from the not independent could only make up a portion of the content and not dominate majority of the content. The important point here is that he was a politician or he was well known enough that many sources wrote/ still mention about him. Source either print or digital from newspaper, books or reliable journal are good sources. By the way the sources could be in any languages (however, if the print sources is in other languages than it would be hard for reviewers to get it translated). The draft copy would be stay in the Wikipedia system for 6 months before it gets deleted.
- I have a brief read, the format of the page might need to rearrange or rework. You need a MOS:LEAD section (introduction) then the body section with subsections such as "Background", "Political career", "Personal life" and etc. Pls check out other biography page under the WP:GA and see how it is written. Also there are detail and length information which he associate which I think it should pear down as the article is about the subject and it should talk about the subject. I will leave the draft for other reviewer to review the page as I have done twice and other reviewer might/could provide additional comments. Hope the above help. Let me know if anything else I could help. cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk)
- Hi CASSIOPEIA - Thank you for an excellent feedback! In addition, yesterday I have identified a database of Assembly Chamber records with many reference to Khabeeruddin, some directly relating to questions he asked and the house speaker's answer. Those whole sections would fit within the requirements you are talking about.
- I have taken a note of your comments, and now carefully using them for the next edit. Will get back shortly. Thank you again.
- Afzal tc8, Glad that I would help and pop back here if you have further questions. Happy editing. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 17:17, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
Hi CASSIOPEIA: I took out much of the content in the last revisions. Please don't be surprised. I will return shortly. Thank you for your patience. 108.89.32.9 (talk) 17:56, 5 May 2019 (UTC) Afzal tc8

- Decepti Brine Thank you for enthusiasm and willing to help; however, upon checking, you made 15 mainspace edits of a total 41 edits todate. 5 of the 15 mainspace edits are deem disruptive / vandalism. (1) you remove the source that support the content of the page - see 1 (pls add back the source), (2) adding a big chunk of unsourced content - see 2 (pls remove them unless you have independent, reliable sources to support it), (3) remove the source - see 3 (pls add back the source), (4) remove garden stub to smiley thank you tag - see 4 (pls revert your own edit) and (5) remove unreferenced tag without adding any references to the page - see 5 (pls revert your own edit). This indicated you dont understand to how to make correct/constructive edits in Wikipedia yet. Also, if you think the page names need to change, pls first discuss it on the article talk page. I suggest you to edits constructively and learn by reading the welcome links in your talk page, familiar yourself what should be done and want is should not (no disruptive/vandalism edits) for 6 more month or another few thousand edits, before looking into helping in counter vandalism. Hi, thank you for moving Draft:Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh into draftspace. Have been working on it (cleaning up copy, creating a structure, attempting an NPOV and adding references) as I work my way down the page. Would appreciate a review from you when you have time. Meanwhile the original page creator submitted the draft for Afc consideration - I believe the remaining sections (Projects/SAAP Projects downwards) will be done in a day or two, and we should wait until then to submit. Reverted the template to not submitted but wanted your help to remove it from the consideration queue if it still somehow is in there. Sdsouza (talk) 08:48, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
- Sdsouza Greetings. May I know who are "we" you referred to on your message above? CASSIOPEIA(talk) 08:54, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
- CASSIOPEIA The "we" meant editors here. Half the article is now cleaned up and citations done (i think), the other half still looks incomplete (to me). Thanks! Sdsouza (talk) 09:34, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
- Sdsouza how many of "we" are there? Are you guys working for Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh? CASSIOPEIA(talk) 09:36, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
- CASSIOPEIA am not sure about the original page creator (don't know them), but I don't work for SAAP. The "we" meant editors in general here at Wikipedia - not a group of editors that I am part of. Just to be clear, here's the diff from when I started editing to its current state: diff. Sdsouza (talk) 09:39, 16 May 2019 (UTC)

- Sdsouza If you look at the history log here, there is only 4 editors in total, the creator, you, I and the other is also a reviewer. So pls use "I" if you refer just yourself.. Pls note that in Wikipedia, we use gender neutral pronounce when we dont know the gender of the editor, instead of he/she, him/her, his/hers we use they/them/their. I asked the question because Wikipedia account is for only one user. Pls note that the draft at the present stage written more like a company broucher or profile in web site. Pls refer to other sport article such as FIFA. Reduce the roles/function down to one sentence and remove mission. Remove all the project and state only the most important ones. Pls read up WP:Your First Article and WP:GOLDENRULE to familiar yourself on how to write an article and the requirement in Wikipedia. Take you time to rewrite as the draft article will be in Wikipedia system for 6 months prior deletion if no submission is made. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 09:51, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
- CASSIOPEIA Glad you agree with what I said at the beginning of this section: the draft is not ready for submission. As for your advice on using gender neutral pronouns, am wondering what in my posts here prompted you to bring it up. I used a single pronoun as far as I can make out - them (apart from I and you, I mean). Thanks again! Sdsouza (talk) 10:17, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
- Sdsouza I mentioned as I dont want you to get confused if I use "they/them/ther" to refer to an editor (singular). CASSIOPEIA(talk) 10:21, 16 May 2019 (UTC)

Why did you remove my edit to Polystation
Hey dude, I actually know Reggie personally and I can assure you all the information I added is completely true, and I have physical evidence to prove it— Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.224.234.138 (talk) 22:57, May 16, 2019 (UTC)
- 24.224.234.138 Greetings. I have left a message to you on your talk page and indicated the reason - you didnt provide a independent, reliable sources. Since you know Reggie personally, it is not advised to edit the affected page as you have a conflict of interest. You could provide source and request for other editor to edit for you by stating it on the article talk page. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 13:04, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
Colour boxes

NPR Newsletter No.18
Hello Cassiopeia,
- WMF at work on NPP Improvements
Niharika Kohli, a product manager for the growth team, announced that work is underway in implementing improvements to New Page Patrol as part of the 2019 Community Wishlist and suggests all who are interested watch the project page on meta. Two requested improvements have already been completed. These are:
- Allow filtering by no citations in page curation
- Not having CSD and PRODs automatically marked as reviewed, reflecting current consensus among reviewers and current Twinkle functionality.
- Reliable Sources for NPP
Rosguill has been compiling a list of reliable sources across countries and industries that can be used by new page patrollers to help judge whether an article topic is notable or not. At this point further discussion is needed about if and how this list should be used. Please consider joining the discussion about how this potentially valuable resource should be developed and used.
- Backlog drive coming soon
Look for information on the an upcoming backlog drive in our next newsletter. If you'd like to help plan this drive, join in the discussion on the New Page Patrol talk page.
- News
- Following a request for comment, the subject-specific notability guideline for pornographic actors and models (WP:PORNBIO) was removed; in its place, editors should consult WP:ENT and WP:GNG.
- Discussions of interest
- A request for bot approval for a bot to patrol two kinds of redirects
- There has been a lot discussion about Notability of Academics

CASSIOPEIA moved page Kōji Chikamoto to Draft:Kōji Chikamoto without leaving a redirect: Undersourced, incubate in draftspace
I added sources to the article, and it's ready for your review. Thank you! :)— Preceding unsigned comment added by Mika chan2005 (talk • contribs) 13:03, May 18, 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Mika chan2005, good day. Reviewed and accepted. You could find the article here - Kōji Chikamoto. Thank you for your contribution and happy editing. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 04:01, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
Ref errors
Hello, with this edit, a ref was missing the closing '>'. Please take care with these... I have come across some others left by you in recent weeks. Using preview or even looking at the page after saving would have revealed the large angry ref-error message. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 11:19, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
- Eagleash Greetings. Left over the ">" thanks for informing and helping. Appreciate it. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:43, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
Hello, I saw your name as a trainer at Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit/Academy I'm interested in learning how to fight vandalism and more in-depth learning of Vandalism on WIkipedia, I also checked your contributions, It's nice to see you're nice to other users. Please Train me --Siddharth Talk To Me!! 18:12, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
- SidPedian Good day and thank you for interested in fighting vandalism in Wikipedia. Pls have a look the "Goals" and "Syllabus" sections below to understand the requirements needed at the end of the course in order to graduate from CVSCHOOL. Secondly, please note that there are many editors who were interested in counter vandalism course and abundant the program mid way due to lack of anticipation of the amount of efforts/time needed in reading the program material, doing assigned "homework" and exams requirements . The program has no timeline set, as the editor would progress through the course work at their own time. Generally, it would take an editor 1.5-2 months to finish the course. So do prepare yourself for lots of reading and homework if you intend to proceed with the program. As of today, you have edited 106 mainspace - see HERE and the requirement for a user to enroll into the program is that (1) the user has contributed at least 200 edits to MAINSPACE and (2) a good contributor (no vandalism edits , disruptive edits or have not been blocked in last 6 months). Your time spent in Wikipedia for the last few weeks shows that you could be achieve 200 mainspace in next 2 weeks. Come back if you are still interested after you have contributed to at least 200 mainspace edits, and also include the reason why you are interested in the program and become a vandal fighter in Wikipedia.
Goals
If you're new and/or inexperienced, before embarking on a Counter-Vandalism training programme, you should be able to demonstrate that you have already mastered the basic principles of editing the encyclopedia and contributed at least 200 edits to MAINSPACE. If you have previously been warned or requested to follow guidelines, you should have demonstrated that you have addressed these issues.
When you have shown through training that you have mastered the principles of Counter-Vandalism and can apply them with accuracy, and can communicate correctly and effectively with new users of all kinds you may be able to apply for permission to use restricted tools, such as, for example Rollback, and STiki that will enable you to semi-automate the process, while understanding that speed alone is not essential - the target is accuracy. When you have achieved these goals, you can display the {{User CVU0-en}} userbox on your user page.

- At the meantime, if you have not finished WP:The Wikipedia Adventure program, I do suggest you to do so as there are many valuable info and exercises which would help you to understand some fundamental info and requirements as a good contributor in Wikipedia. If you have any other questions or anything I could help, please let me know. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 10:08, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
