Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Flag Icons
[edit]Flag Icons are not accepted in Canadian settlement boxes see Talk:Vancouver/GA1 for a example. They have been slowly being removed form Canadian statements. This would is a issue when a article is assessed for quality.
In WP:INFOBOXFLAG it states; Generally, flag icons should not be used in infoboxes, even when there is a "country", "nationality" or equivalent field: they are unnecessarily distracting and give undue prominence to one field among many. ...the consensus of editors at that article will determine whether flag use in the infobox is preferred or not.
Overall consensus for Canadian settlements is to not to include them. Cheers - Kyle1278 (talk) 05:57, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply, do you know where I can find the consensus?C-GAUN (talk) 06:03, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
- No problem, most discussions about flags for Mos are found here Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Icons. There has never been a complete '100%' consensus, but through the archive it shows editors largely against them in infoboxs. If you feel that they should be added back, please start a discussion on the subject here Talk: Calgary. Cheers - Kyle1278 (talk) 06:56, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

about BNO passport and Macau SAR passport
[edit]Dear Sir,
We fully understand the difference between two type of passport. We are not satisfied with your explanation from the previous reply. For some countries that specify mention the visa policy of BNO passport, such as USA, Qatar, UAE, Brunei, so we cannot edit those countries as visa free. For other countries that only specify the visa free status of British nationals implies it offers BNO passport visa free. The IATA information may not be 100% correct. We heard many case that can enter Ukraine with BNO passports without any problem.
For Macau SAR passport always recognized as China passport for foreign officials, that's because the cover is very similar to the ordinary China passport and the nationality is Chinese which shown in the information page. We notice that there are a number of countries that offers visa free to China nationals, which implies the China nationality shown in the passport. We never say the Macau passport is equivalent to China passport. Practically, the Macau passport holders can treat as China passport holders, also enjoy the visa free to other countries that the China passport cannot have. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robinho12345678 (talk • contribs) 05:29, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

Status of Macau and HK in visa related issues
[edit]We have another crisis over at Visa requirements for Chinese citizens of Hong Kong. Again someone is claiming that the fact that there is no HK specifically listed is irrelevant as this is why we say Chinese citizens of Hong Kong, China covers it all. Would appreciate if you could talk some sense into this.--Twofortnights (talk) 13:35, 2 September 2017 (UTC)

Postal Code vandal
[edit]I see we have our IP hopping postal code vandal back, the on who keeps moving the postal code to after the country name in defiance of all addressing standards. I've protected some of the articles they're hitting, but if you see more feel free to let me know. Canterbury Tail talk 17:42, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Canterbury Tail: Much appreciated. I will keep directing him to the official Canada Post guideline and hope they will come to their senses. C-GAUN (talk) 00:02, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
- Not just Canada Post guidelines, which do indeed apply since the articles are about Canada, but general international addressing standards always have the country last. Canterbury Tail talk 00:05, 12 October 2017 (UTC)

More Macau nonsense
[edit]Please have a look at [2]. Is this ever going to end?--Twofortnights (talk) 10:59, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
Hi. I hope you don't mind me joining in. It's always the same editor disrupting the same articles over and over again like in [3]. I don't know why he always tries to add Macau when the SAR is not mentioned as visa exempt at all from any of the articles provided. I was trying to catch him through his talk page but it looks like he is now blocked for a second time. I don't know if he is gonna learn his lesson after the second block because he still didn't change his behaviour after his first block. RoboTitan28 (talk) 23:07, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
- This is frustrating and has been going on for at least a year. IMHO, aside from blocking there's really no better way to deal with this. C-GAUN (talk) 03:24, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Right of abode (United Kingdom), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Permanent residence (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
