Unblock
[edit]C-3PO, HCR (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
Greetings, I am C-3PO, Human Cyborg Relations (yes, I'm actually Human. Couldn't resist the name) I've been blocked under a previous account, Detectionist, for being a sock puppet - which I don't deny. People, especially ineperienced ones, make mistaks and I believe I've worked passed mine. I would even be willing to fufill a 2 to 4-year probationary period with Administrators to be able to edit freely on this site. If I'm out of line, even by a centimeter, you can reblock and call it a day. I sincerely thank you for viewing. C-3PO, HCR (talk) 03:43, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
Decline reason:
I would have considered the argument about your lack of experience as having a merit were this your first sock. It's not so you already knew that what you were doing is wrong when you were registering this account. Therefore, this request is declined. Please see our standard offer for a way to return to editing. Max Semenik (talk) 09:33, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Well, this is a bit unusual
[edit]I feel bad putting down a block for something you just freely admitted to in such a polite manner, but, the other account you're pointing to IS technically still blocked, and thus any other account you use should, also, technically be, on those grounds, by default. However, I'm perfectly willing to leave your unblock request up as-is, so it can be formally reviewed and permitted/denied. It's kind of a funny situation to see someone put up an unblock request for a block that hasn't (yet) come down the pipe. That foresight and honesty are both appreciated. I sorta wish it didn't have to be this way but, you aren't technically unblocked at the moment, so I need to go ahead and put that clamp down. I do hope things work out all right for you though. - Vianello (Talk) 05:23, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, by the by, there's a pretty good chance you'll be asked to make your unblock request on the master account (User:UnbiasedVictory). You might consider relocating your request to there just to get that out of the way, even if this is the account you'd like to use. - Vianello (Talk) 05:25, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
- Whoops. Annnd, sorry, I messed up/misunderstood. It looks like your "master" account (mentioned above) ISN'T actually presently blocked. By extension, this means this account isn't evading a block, which in turn by extension would mean it's not being used to circumvent WP policy or anything, so it's essentially a valid regular account. I see the account you're initially referring to here was one of the sockmaster account's blocked sockpuppets. If you need that particular account to be unblocked (such as to remove an autoblock), maybe you should post a request on that account's talk page. In the meantime, though, since your main account is unblocked, as best I can tell, you're in the clear for editing with this one. I'll leave your unblock request alone, but I think you can remove it at your discretion. You should be aware of the policy on multiple accounts though. It is advised to keep it public that you control both accounts, if you're going to make any use of the other one. Multiple accounts are allowed as long as they aren't used to circumvent policy. - Vianello (Talk) 05:32, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
Sorry, quick clarification
[edit]Major apologies. I keep running back and forth here. I just want to make sure I've got this 100% straight. You said in your unblock request your previous account was User:Detectionist. That user had been blocked as a sock of User:UnbiasedVictory, who is at present not blocked. Were both of those accounts yours? - Vianello (Talk) 07:33, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
- Never mind, a few helpful second parties laid things straight for me. Looks like my initial assessment (and yours) were correct. The originating account was blocked, but it was under a global block, so I just plain missed it. I will need to go ahead and reinstate the blocks I put up in the first place, for the reasons I mentioned at the time. I apologize for inadvertently jerking your chain like that. But, as I said originally, I will leave your unblock request up to be assessed in light of all this as I had originally stated, and I will then get out of the way so I don't keep making everyone jump from foot to foot. - Vianello (Talk) 08:40, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
- It's no trouble at all, Vianello. You've been the kindest to me thus far, but I think that's to be expected for an admitted sock. Nevertheless, I appreciate it. I trully didn't know sockpuppeting was the creation of new accounts after the blocking of your current one. And due to global blockages, I don't have access to any of the aforementioned accounts to submit an appeal via talk page. Had I known this was socking, I never would have done it. Once more, I apologize to you and the entire Wikipedia community. Take care. C-3PO, HCR (talk) 21:18, 9 February 2016 (UTC)}}

Request reason:
Now that I'm familiar with sock puppeting and how to prevent it (and, frankly, now that I've fallen in love with my account name), I believe I'm responsible enough to be unblocked. Please allow this to become a reality and thank you for viewing my request. C-3PO, HCR (talk) 10:37 pm, Today (UTC+1)
Decline reason:
You should take the WP:Standard offer (it was already offered to you at User_talk:UnbiasedVictory#Wikipedia:Standard offer). Since your main account is locked, you can use the Unblock Ticket Request System to send an e-mail request. Vanjagenije (talk) 22:45, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

- Okay, thank you. That was my main delimma, everyone told me to take it back to my original account but I couldn't log into it and had no idea what to do after that. Thank you again. C-3PO, HCR (talk) 22:51, 9 February 2016 (UTC)}}
