Reverting vandalism

[edit]

Hi, I've noticed that you have been placing uw-vandalism3 warnings on IP addresses' talk pages after only a few vandalism edits, without prior warnings. The idea behind the warning templates is to give vandals a chance to realize that we can keep track of them, and block them if necessary. Skipping a few levels in the process reduces the effectiveness of this idea, so in the future, could you start with the uw-vandalism1 template? --FlamingSilmaril 17:16, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In some cases, the template should be raised to reflect flagrancy. If the vandalism in question is huge or blatant, then starting with a higher template is a good idea. But something like the contributions of this IP require just a click of the "Undo" button, so starting off with a third level template is a bit rash. --FlamingSilmaril 17:44, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, Bws2002! Given your recent edits to the Marx Brothers article and its talk page, I thought I could solicit your assistance. I've submitted two articles for peer review, and thought that you might be of some help in critiquing them:

  • Duck Soup. I've listed this article for peer review because, even though I and other editors have contributed much information and references, I'm certain that there are other aspects of this classic film that have yet to be covered. I'd like to hear feedback from you, so that I can get help in improving this (and other Marx Brothers films) quality.
  • Princess Leia Organa. I've listed this article for peer review because it right now seems oddly cluttered and, despite a lot of references as of now, lacks reliable source citations. Although I've already requested another peer review, as long as it helps the articles get better, I've got the time. Any helpful comments will certainly be appreciated, as this should help me in expanding other Star Wars-centric articles.

I value your input. If you wish to submit a review of those articles, just go to those articles's talk pages and click on the relevant links. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing your opinion. — Cinemaniac (talkcontribs) 00:49, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear friend please come to ‎« שמועס »‎ to see if we can use this channel as a place for Yiddish chats. This form should work at ‎װיקיװערטערבוך‎ when you are using Firefox, Konqueror or Opera. Unfortunatelly if does not work yet in Internet Explorer.‎
Please search in ‎װיקיװערטערבוך:הויפט זייט‎ at the seventh item in נאוויגאציע.‎ It is ‎« שמועס »‎.‎ I assume that you agree to add such an « שמועס » item at װיקיפּעדיע‎ to נאוויגאציע as soon as our friends m:n:en:user:bawolff ... have fixed the code. Please do not hesitate to write your comments in the comment section.‎
Please make proposals about translating of the text / help: Only Latin characters and Latin numbers are allowed as « Your Nickname: » . Exceptions are « tekhniker|avek » , « ales-viser » etc. Please add some explanations about accessing the channel « #kavehoyz » by using the page chatwikizine: One should select the channel « #kavehoyz » from the channel list, select a Nickname and hit enter. All other fields are optional.‎
Thanks in advance and Good luck! Best regards

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
