Proposed deletion of "HxD"
The deletion of an article you created, HxD, has been proposed for the following reason:
- Non-notable freeware.
You are welcome to improve the article to meet Wikipedia's quality standards and remove the deletion notice from the article. You may also remove the notice if you disagree with the deletion, though in such cases, further discussion may take place at Articles for deletion, and the article may still be deleted if there is a consensus to do so.
Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. I notice that Ken Papai (of photo.net) has added "L" as a Canon designation for a "luxury" lens, to the general glossary. I feel that it ought to be moved to the brand-specific list. Do you agree? All manufacturers have long lists of letter/number combinations to designate particular classes of lens. I am not at all sure that it would be appropriate to try to include any or all of these in this glossary. They are listed in the on-line glossaries that I have put in links to. How do you feel about this? Thanks again for your continuing improvements. martinev (talk) 18:35, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
- I agree with moving this to the brand specific list. In addition, as the brand-specific list expands, it should be split up into separate lists for each brand, though not quite at this time. Keeping the article organized makes it easier to read and refer to. DRAGON 280 (TALK/CONTRIBS) 23:48, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Articles on individual Pentax lenses
I'm working on a series of new articles describing Pentax lenses, because there have been no articles covering any individual Pentax lens. The first article I have created is Pentax DA 18-55mm lens, and I intend to model these pages after Canon lens articles. If you can, please let me know about how I'm doing and help me find sources and other information to help build this and other Pentax lens articles; a list of lens articles to work on is on Pentax Lenses. Thank you. DRAGON 280 (TALK/CONTRIBS) 03:27, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Your request for rollback
Hi DragonLord. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Parrish Art Museum
Hello, DragonLord,
I'm Mark Segal, PR and Marketing Director of the Parrish Art Museum. The changes I made, and you unmade, were made to more accurately reflect the museum, its mission, and its programs. There are inaccuracies in your version: the Esteban Vicente, Dorothea Rockburne, and Juliao Sarmento exhibitions took place in 2011. I tried to give more information on the Alice Aycock, Michelle Stuart, Pollock, Ossorio, Dubuffet, and Jennifer Bartlett exhibitions, including links to our website, but you have removed those references. Some of the past exhibitions you cited were quite some time ago, and I tried to update that section as well. Our director encouraged me to make the changes I made. I don't understand why you felt it was unnecessary to undo those changes and reinstate material that is dated and in some cases inaccurate.Msegal3054 (talk) 15:31, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
- The edit was rolled back because it reflected a conflict of interest, as you replaced well-sourced content with material that referenced the Parrish Art Museum web site. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. —DragonLord(talk/contribs) 15:36, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Is that what you people do for a living--police Wikipedia edits from one second to the next? How tragic. It's even more remarkable that you folks tend to complain about "vandalism" when someone adds a verified fact to a scientific article; I guess you're all multiple subject area gurus, as well as self-styled arbiters of all fields of human endeavor . . . ? Cigarette smokers problem
What did you think about what I wrote? Did you THINK? I am not familiar with how Wikipedia works, and thought the few sentences I wrote would of course not become part of the article, but rather, be a note to contibutors, alerting somebody who HAS the knowledge and HAS the inclination, to make the article better. That was my intention, and if you are a THINKING person, you could have handled it by doing something to that point. Maybe you have, if so, Thanks! Hopefully, if you are in a mood to share with me what it is you do and the benefits those actions have, you could just as speedily effect I the change I had hoped to make, a clarification/article suggestion. About the edit war in List of Winx Club Episodes
I've trying to explain the user who is deleting the content that a site not being owned by Nickelodeon doesn't mean it's not official. Parrish Art Museum
Hello Dragon Lord,
I have reviewed your comments and those of Americasroof. I would prefer to correspond directly via e-mail (mine is segalmparrishart.org) but if you prefer this means, that's fine. Would it be acceptable for me to take "baby steps," such as replacing the exhibitions currently listed in the "upcoming exhibitions include" statement with actual upcoming exhibitions, rather than past ones. I'm only interested in accuracy, and I don't see how that represents a conflict of interest. If somebody were to write that the new Parrish is 1,000 in length and I corrected that to 615 feet, how is my correction indicative of a conflict of interest?
That said, while I don't think the opening paragraph I submitted is puffery, I can see that it does not satisfy Wikipedia's standards. I was paraphrasing our mission statement. Would it be acceptable to include the mission statement by prefacing it with: "The Museum's mission statement is as follows..." or something to that effect. Most organizations have mission statements. I can see that if presented without a preface, as I did, it runs the risk of seeming like opinion, not fact. But if identified as a mission statement, I think it helps clarify what the museum is about, or at least what the museum is trying to be about, which seems a legitimate element of the entry.
I plan to make some updates in the Exhibitions section. Here's another issue: some of the previous exhibitions listed took place many years ago, and more recent exhibitions are omitted. Is there any reason I can't add exhibitions from the past two or three years, especially as they reflect our current orientation? Again, I'm not interested in stating opinions or "selling" the Parrish in any way. I'm just trying to increase the accuracy of the entry. I will be more mindful of existing links. Also, I was planning to add links to the material you deleted, but I hadn't gotten around to it yet.
I really would like to work cooperatively. I had not read the guidelines thoroughly enough before, and I do understand the need to scrupulously avoid unverifiable statements of fact or statements of opinion. I look forward to hearing form you.

- I suggest you look at Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with close associations. Editors closely associated with the subjects of the articles they are editing are not barred from such editing per se, but you need to be careful not to violate Wikipedia policies. We appreciate your effort in making Wikipedia a more accurate source of information, but make sure you know the rules before you edit. —DragonLord(talk/contribs) 17:23, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Dragon Lord,
For starters, I'm writing to propose a couple of factual changes to the Parrish Art Museum's page. Rather than enter them myself, I'm submitting them to you for vetting. In the Water Mill location section, the correct dimensions of the building are 615 feet long and 95 feet wide. The figures of 634 feet and 94 feet seem to come from the source noted in footnote # 16. I don't know who that is, but it's not correct. I can provide a very detailed Herzog & de Meuron construction document with these and other dimensions. Or, I (or you) can cite Herzog & de Meuron Construction Document No. 349, Parrish Art Museum Water Mill, New York, USA. Project 2009 - 2010, Realization 2010 - 2012. In the same paragraph, it says "It has 37,300 square feet of gallery space." This is contradicted by the penultimate paragraph of the text. I think whoever wrote that meant to say that the building is 34,400 square feet (not 37,300), a figure from the same Herzog & de Meuron document.
In the penultimate paragraph, the correct figures for gallery space are 4,600 square feet for temporary exhibitions, 7,600 for the permanent collection. These figures, too, may be found in the Herzog & de Meuron construction document. Also, past exhibitions have focused on Esteban Vicente, Juliao Sarmento, and Dorothea Rockburne. Upcoming exhibitions will feature Alice Aycock, Josephine Meckseper, Michelle Stuart, and Jennifer Bartlett.
I hope you will agree that these are statements of fact. I agree citations are important, but a citation itself is not a guarantee of accuracy, as can be seen with citation # 16. Even the New York Times can make mistakes, which is why they sometimes issue corrections. Msegal3054 (talk) 18:23, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
- Good, but make sure that we can verify the sources. Unfortunately, I don't always have the time to handle every suggested edit, so you might want to use
{{Help me}}
on your own talk page to ask for assistance from other editors. Thanks for your effort to improve Wikipedia. —DragonLord(talk/contribs) 18:29, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

- You're very welcome. From the edits I'm seeing in your sandboxes, it seems you're trying out some of the features of Wikipedia, especially syntax highlighting. For guidance on how this works, see MOS:CODE and http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:SyntaxHighlight_GeSHi. Once again, welcome to Wikipedia. —DragonLord(talk/contribs) 00:14, 28 April 2013 (UTC)

Pilipinas Kong Mahal
I just did what Wikipedia required - I posted material with supporting evidence. You may look for the book I mentioned at the Library of the Mariano Marcos State University - College of Teacher Education in Laoag City if you think I only made up the lyrics.
I also have a screenshot of the book where I derived the material. You may see it at: http://sphotos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/284795_4036481689410_1797852481_n.jpg
And besides, what I posted was the OFFICIAL English version - the ORIGINAL lyrics of the song before a Filipino version was made. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.1.38.228 (talk) 14:50, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
- To clarify, I reverted the edit because you had removed categories and a template from the page. I probably made a mistake on this one. My apologies. —DragonLordtalk/contribs 14:55, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Personal Sandbox
Thank you for the welcome. I do have a question. I created a personal sandbox, but I am not sure how to add that link to my user page, so I can access it easily. When I try, it tells me that page has not been created, but it has. Please advise. Thanks. --Faerygirl81 (talk) 20:08, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- Your personal sandbox is located at User:Faerygirl81/sandbox. Remember that page names are case sensitive, so User:Faerygirl81/sandbox is not the same as User:Faerygirl81/Sandbox (with capital S). —DragonLordtalk/contribs 20:52, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for the help. That must have been the problem. I will be more aware in the future. Faerygirl81 (talk) 17:50, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
Hi, DragonLord, I did not add the image to "amuse" the readers, I merely did it to inform them how serious the Share-Alike CC are. Lotje (talk) 05:18, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
- I still don't think that edit was appropriate. An argument regarding CC BY-SA licensing is not relevant to code monkeys and is not a factual statement that belongs in mainspace. If licensing is an issue, or if you believe that users are not fully aware of the consequences of the CC BY-SA license, you should discuss it at the village pump instead. —DragonLordtalk/contribs 07:24, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
You placed a POV tag on the article, but failed to explain your concern on the talk page. I am removing the tag. If you re-insert the tag with an explanation, I will leave it on, and we can discuss. Leaving a tag without an explanation is known as drive-by tagging and is discouraged. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:11, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

The source for the Hebrew alphabet is on Wikipedia. (SEE SOFIT) refers to the five Hebrew letters that are given a different form at the end of a word. See Hebrew alphabet/sofit 72.47.147.163 (talk) 15:44, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia. Unfortunately, your last edit didn't appear to be relevant to the article, and you did not give a citation for what you added. Wikipedia policy requires that added content be verifiable, not just correct. —DragonLordtalk/contribs 15:50, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
Camera lenses
If you're still interested in writing about lenses, I think we could make some progress along those lines. FWIW, I created stubs about the DA 55-300 and 560mm. Samsara (FA • FP) 10:09, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
- Great--thanks. Unfortunately, I'm going to be rather busy as I get started with graduate studies, but I'll see what I can do to contribute. —DragonLordtalk/contribs 15:13, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
- Well, good luck, for now, with your studies. I don't have a problem with slowly creating more stubs; however, getting them to a more respectable state might require concerted effort. Maybe you can just quickly tell me what LensType refers to - I saw it in Pentax DA 18-55mm lens but could find no further info about it. Thanks. Samsara (FA • FP) 17:37, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
- LensType is an internal data value which identifies the specific lens model. It is read by the camera and stored in the Exif metadata so that software can identify what lens was used to capture the image. ExifTool can be used to read and interpret this data. —DragonLordtalk/contribs 21:33, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
- And do you crowdsource those values? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised if your lens collection included a number of different variants of the 18-55... Samsara (FA • FP) 22:18, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
- Actually, I didn't add those values. This info was probably found on the Internet by another editor. You might want to look at the revision history. —DragonLordtalk/contribs 02:30, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
- My bad, should have checked. Thanks. Samsara (FA • FP) 04:36, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
- Hey, hope things are going well - how is your wiki motivation level? Anything photography-related you'd like to attack? Samsara 22:46, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hey, nice to see you again. My interests have shifted towards Stack Exchange over the last several months and I'm no longer as active on Wikipedia these days. To be clear, I'm not retiring, but Wikipedia is on the backburner these days. Feel free to contribute, though, and thanks for stopping by. :) —DragonLordtalk/contribs 02:37, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

- IP addresses often change and may be assigned to different users or devices at different times. If you're on a network shared by several different users, it's also possible that another user on the network made the edits. It's likely the person who made the edit was assigned the same IP you currently have. If you expect to contribute to Wikipedia on a regular basis, consider creating an account as this will eliminate confusion caused by users sharing IP addresses. —DragonLordtalk/contribs 02:41, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
26 Nosler
Hi DragonLord! New to this, definitely a challenge figuring out the Wiki language! I work for Nosler, and saw that you recently created and updated a page for our new cartridge, the 26 Nosler. Thank you for taking the time to do this! We'd like to collaborate on expanding the page to include more details about the cartridge. Is this something you'd be up for or do I just go ahead with making edits? Thanks for the help! Appreciate any suggestions or feedback! SharpShootress (talk) 17:06, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
- Go ahead, but make sure you follow the advice for editors which may have a conflict of interest. I don't actually shoot any guns, I just wanted to fill a gap in Wikipedia's coverage of firearm cartridges. Thanks. —DragonLordtalk/contribs 17:15, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 00:55, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
- As a note to readers, the image was replaced with File:College of Staten Island seal.png. I've asked that it be deleted under CSD G7 as this image is no longer needed. —DragonLordtalk/contribs 19:17, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
