Gracias

Thank you for beginning the Art Torres article. It's been the task list of Wikiproject Mexican-Americans/Chicanos for quite some time now.--Rockero420 00:11, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

reverting on Bottlenose Dolphin

Hi, I noticed that you just reverted a vandalism on Bottlenose Dolphin. However, the previous couple of edits had also been vandalisms. It would be good, before you revert, always to check the previous edits. Several vandals nowadays edit in tandem, hoping that only one of the edits will be reverted. Thanks, AxelBoldt 05:01, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

American Dream vandal

Seems he kept both of us busy with his multiple wipes of content and links. Keep up with the fast trigger. ;) Netkinetic 09:16, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi, the Greek pages are a disgrace. The demographics section was written some time ago with correct data and many links to support them, and they have all been removed. I am not going to deal with this, because it is not my function in life to clear up the SHIT of other people. Please accept that what is written there is propaganda and lies, and needs ro be removed,. Thank you.

For your fine work

An Award
I, Dustimagic, hereby award Butros an Exceptional Newcomer Award for demonstrating skill beyond his experience on Wikipedia in reverting vandalism. Keep it up, champ! 04:47, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

Bride Article

Yeah, i have no idea how that article was edited, I hardly ever edit without first signing into my username. There have been one or two other times where some random page was edited from my IP address. Who knows, thanks for bringing it to my attention though. 4.224.90.10 18:31, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi Butros

You had to change the Nuclear winter page, Nuclear winter, most likely to make it harder for me....Thanks 23:53, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Reverting edits on Anarchism page

Hello, I do not believe you should have reverted the edits I made on the anarchism page as the chunks of text I removed were innapropriate to the article and poorly placed. I was merely removing a piece of vandalism by a user intent on rewriting history (I elaborated my opinions on the discussion page but what I wrote has mysteriously disappeared). The edits made by this individual give an innacurate picture of the history of anarchism and deserve to be removed.

Re. Reverting edits on Anarchism page

There already is support for removing the sections on Jefferson, Thoreau, Nock and Sacco and Vanzetti. If you read the discussion page you'll see that the need for their removal is not a controversial issue as all but one person (the person who added these sections) supports it. I apologise if my actions seem like vandalism but a significant majority on the discussion page consider the presence of these sections to be an act of vandalism in themselves.

Re. Re. Reverting edits on Anarchism page

No problem at all, keep up the good work. :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.79.139.53 (talkcontribs) .

Snakes on a Wiki

Even though everyone editing the article has thought about using a similar edit summary at some stage, it still amuses to see someone actually stepping up and doing it :-)

Riverboarding Pic

Can you upload this one:

Confused

Butros, I have recieved your message concerning the laptop page. I do not recall ever adding any links to the page. However I do remember adding links to the slang page. If this could be the mixup, I don't know. Also I don't completely understand what exactly it is that I did wrong concerning the links. If you could clear this up for me that would be great. 209.239.24.9 14:44, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Arttorres.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Arttorres.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 10:24, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Edit Summary

Hi Butros, and I hope you are well. I'm not sure edit summaries like this are a good idea. Remember they will stay in the page history and can be seen by anybody. I know it gets frustrating at times on Wikipedia. Sorry to bother you, and Happy Editing! Pedro |  Chat  10:42, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

WP:CVU status

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you! Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Edhshawk.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Edhshawk.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:20, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:La air raid.gif)

Thanks for uploading File:La air raid.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
