Improving your article about The Desperate Man
[edit]Hello Butchart, and welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed through the Books Wikiproject that your article on The Desperate Man has been going through a couple rounds of edits/rejections. I think you've laid a great foundation here and you've certainly found evidence that the work is notable enough for a wikipedia article. I wanted to offer some additional feedback or assistance if you'd like, to finish bringing it in line with Wikipedia standards. The main thing I notice is that the list of critical reviews isn't a very encyclopedic way to present information about a book's reception. A better approach would be to summarize how people have responded to the book, perhaps restating in one sentence what each of those reviews' main conclusions were. You could also use the information in the reviews, such as the author's Dolorism, to write an additional section or two about the book, perhaps a "background" section or "major themes." Then that information would be cited to the reviews you found, and they would appear as references for the article without having to be awkwardly listed in the body of the article itself. The article has definitely improved from the work you've put into it so I think it's quite close to being ready for mainspace! Let me know if you have any questions or if you'd like me to try to help with writing some of the article, and good luck! ~ oulfis 🌸(talk) 23:20, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
